Saturday morning from Michigan
Good morning OFF friends
Its to early to be awake on a Saturday morning! been awake since 430. The fun of being a non sleeper. Its a beautiful chilly morning here but gonna be a nice day I think. I need to get out and get some flowers planted. I have some difficulty being in the sun for long but love the flowers. Ill get it done a few min at a time!
Been so busy here running trying to keep step dad in his apt. but with the gas prices skyrocketing I cant do it so he might be m moving in here again. He has sundowners dementia and wanders the complex at night wanting someone to play cards with him. Hes definately not dangerous But I can understand the annoyance of having someone knock on your door at 3 am. Daytime the old grouch is perfectly fine. the demon dementia stalking someone I love again oh well we will fight it again.
I have been keeping up reading while running the roads but my barely smart phone doesnt do well posting.
Prayers going up from our house for all those fight illness and other life difficulties. I think of you daily whether here or not.
have a great day and weekend one and alll.
Morning Jo and OFF family yet to come in....
Jo I feel bad for you and what you are going through with your step dad. I remember what it was like with my ex husband. Sad.
Well yesterday I was very busy...had Bingo for the tenants and had great time! Made $50.00 from that and the donations taken in for the tenant fund!! WOW!!!!! Had a woman stop in wanting to look at an apartment, loved it and wanted to movein right away!!! Like right then!!! Told her I had to send the app in to corporate for approval first and it was late in the day and wasn't sure it could be done but would try...well it happened!! She was approved and is moving in!!! That was the quickest I had anyone move in!!! WOW!!!!!!! She was released from an assisted living and was supposed to be headed to florida to live with her kids...well at the last minute her kids told her she had to pay them $300 for rent, then more money for food, more money for this more money that, the list went on and on and soon her money was gone!!! She couldn't do that move!!! SHe decided to stay here IF she found a place. Well lucky for her she found us!!!!! Now hopefully she turns out she will be a GOOD one for us!!!!! SHe also has MS. What she was in the assisted living for was a broken leg and also she told me was she was standing outside the car looking up at the beautiful sky and said to someone with her how pretty it looked and she went over backwards and cracked her head open...sooooooo she ended up with all sorts of problems and ended up in assisted iving for a year and a half. Now she is out and here. Very nice woman 65 years old. Hope I did good with her. Met her parents and they are also very nice. Her mom thanked me over and over for getting her in so fast and she was so happy that I went over time in doing this for her daughter. Hey that is what I am here for. To rent apartments...but I DID stay over hours to get her in here...found out they know one of the tenants here so that made them at ease for her also. Me too!! She hired Rick and Jason to unload her truck today so they are happy making a few bucks!! :-) But anyhow...just wish I had alot more coming in to rent like that so I could fill up those empty apartments!!! I think I have 7 more to go on that side yet!!! The economy sucks!!! And those that do come in their credit is so bad or they are felons I don't even want to have them in here!!! Rather have them empty than have trouble!!!
Well as for the weather here its been cool and overcast...foggy today and 57* right now. Just blah. See the farmer planter corn in the field this year. Wonder if it will be knee high by the 4th of july...the way this weather has been maybe it will be ankle high by the 4th!!!!
Well Rick is up now and we have o go to Mansfield for some blinds for that apartment before she moves in this morning. She is supposed to be here at 11 so need to get going. Takes 1/2 hour each way driving...sighs......but we love it out here in the country!!! ;-)
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Jo and Judy and all my OFF sistas!
Sailing, sailing, over the ocean blue . . . ! Oh, what a beautiful day it is here. We are taking the boat out on the lake today. The water just looks like glass. Benny is so excited. He can't wait to go swimming in the "big water". So cute.
We had a major breakthrough in potty training last night. Benny went tee tee in the potty twice last night! But, typically, shows absolutely no interest in it this morning. Drat. I'm tired of buying diapers, and I'm really tired of changing poopy ones!!!
Well, I have a picnic lunch to pack and sunscreen to apply and towels to pack, etc. Hope you all have a wonderful, fun Saturday planned!
Love you all!
Vickie,
That is a giant step for Benny. My daughter used a star chart on the fridge. (I called it her BRIBE chart.) Every time Matthew used the potty he got a star. For every 14 stars he got some sort of reward such as a new book. My grands do best with visual bribery.
He did it once, he will do it again when his little body has enough control.
Kisses
Annette
Hi Jo and my OFF family:
Not much happening here. Work again tonight. Pretty quiet night last night, except for about 8:30 or so, the sports guy comes back and says our local baseball team has a no-hitter going and we have no one covering the game (we had a feature on the front, just the score in the story, and a little synopsis of the game inside). It was in the bottom of the eighth, so we were about to rip up the front and move things around. But then in the top of the ninth, the opposing team got a hit, so that was out. We claimed Dan jinxed them by declaring a no-hitter was going on. LOL.
Anyway, back to work tonight. Didn't want to get out of bed this morning. Lounged around til after 11. Yawn. Not that I didn't sleep well, just was being lazy. Need to get going soon. I need to pick up my boss and drive him to CVS for stuff, then he's going to buy me lunch. Maybe I have time for a second cup of coffee.
Have a good day.
Good Evening Everyone,
My daughter has been having a ginormous garage sale since Thursday. She has a ton of children's clothing to get rid of. You wouldn't believe all the baby boy clothes, in nearly new condition. Jo, she also has household items, DVDs and other things, including adult clothing, and she's holding it again next Thursday and Saturday, if you're into garage sales.
Anyway, I've been helping her with the sale, by running interference with the kids, especially Frankie. I put some stuff out to sell, but nothing compared to the volume of stuff she's got.
I haven't gotten my keyboard fixed, but bought a wireless one to use till it is. Plus, I can use this one for when I am viewing Netflix and the Phillies games. That's the main reason I haven't been posting much, and when I did the posts were brief. It's a pain to post from a mobile device.
Must scoot.
Hugs and prayers,
Trish
