Good Thursday morning!
Good morning sistas!
Guess I'll start us off today. It is hot and sunny here this week. Summer has arrived in full force.
We went to water aerobics last night. Between mowing the grass yesterday morning and water aerobics last night, I certainly did get my exercise yesterday! But the damn scale was UP a pound this morning. Grrrrr! I will learn not to get on it one of these days. Always makes me mad when it doesn't move the way I want it to!
I need to start sewing my new kitchen and dining room curtains this week, but so far, I just have no motivation to get going on that project. Maybe I will do it next week while Benny is in VBS (vacation bible school).
What I really feel like doing today is watching TV and cross stitching. Oh, sometimes I miss those days when my time was my own! Not so with Benny around. (Or Butch either, for that matter! LOL!)
Hope everyone is doing well today. Annette, I hope the new chemo was easier on your system last night and that you're not feeling badly today. Connie, I'm so glad you have Pam by your side right now. I do so wish I could come and pack your stuff for you. Wish I could clone myself and be in two places at once! Nan, I am praying for you and Morgan. Karen, it sounds like you had a wonderful time with your son and family. Are you going to move? That is a major decision for sure. Will pray for you to have peace with your decision, whatever it is. Trish, love that you are getting to spend so much time with your munchkins. I know that makes your decision to move feel like the right one! Debbie, can't wait to see pics of your quilts. Still jealous that you have room and time to quilt! Wish I could join you. Judy, you are just a wonder woman running that zoo of an apartment complex! Eileen, glad you got a chance at a little extra money last night. Carla, have fun camping again! Now, who have I forgotten? Someone, I'm sure. Whoever you are, please forgive me! I am typing this with Benny crawling on my back!
Love you all!
Morning Vicki and everyone else!
I get Krissy's quilt back from the quilter on Tuesday after I put on the binding I'll post pictures. Starting a new quilt on Sunday with a group of ladies. I can make them I just need to find the money to have them quilted. Which many as you know is costly. Does anyone know if it's doable to quilt on a portable sewing machine. I think I need to learn.
Hope you all have a great day, thoughts and prayers for all,
Debbie
Deb, When I made Benny's baby quilt, I did do a very small bit of quilting on my machine. I bought a template and traced the pattern on top of the quilt. Then I had a special quilting foot that had an even feed foot to keep the material from slipping. I quilted a diamond pattern around the borders of the quilt. Here's the link to a picture on FB. You can see the diamond pattern. I also quilted around the borders of all the squares that I pieced together also using the machine.

If you're a FB person, you can friend me (Vickie Gibson Poe) and then you can see the whole album entitled sewing for baby.
Good luck!
Good morning Vickie and everyone.....
Vickie....the post I made on Facebook yesterday was a reply to the message you sent me. How it posted on Facebook is beyond me. I am using Pam's computer and it does that to her occasionally too. Very strange. I was thanking you and letting you know I was okay. Sorry if you didn't see it. HUGS!! I pray that Carrie is doing better today. Passing kidney stones is awful!
Carla...sorry that the camp ground got flooded. I know how much you love to go camping!! I hope you find something else fun to do! HUGS!!!
I am going to make myself go over and do some packing today. I want it done as I am sick of going over there!! Other then that I have nothing planned for today. I filed out another apartment application last night and will send that off today. They all have such long waiting lists!
I wish you all a beautiful day!! Prayers for many in need. Special prayers for Nan and Morgan and a few others as well.
Love and hugs to all...connie d
Hi Vickie and my OFF family:
Last night was hell. It started out OK, then I volunteered to help out my older coworker (and slower ... he has been slowed down by strokes, etc.) with sports. I kept asking him what he needed help with ... I don't know if he doesn't hear or understand, but it's like pulling teeth to get him to tell me what to do. And then the Cardinals' game ended late. So we went down late, but we didn't have to go down that late with every page if he had managed things better. Oh well, I got 7 hours of overtime.
So today would have been my Monday and I'm beat ... came home and watched "Silver Linings Playbook" ... oh, good movie, especially the ending ... when I got home from work (I had rented it before I knew I was working, so I had to watch it so I could return it today), so I was up til 3 a.m., then didn't get to sleep til nearly 4.
I need to get into the shower and have lunch. Have a good day.
Hi all!
Vickie the quilt you made for Benny as a baby was just lovely.
Debbie I did Christmas stocking for our family and for the grandkids as they came along. Well for the one daughter’s as the others daughter’s MIL makes them new ones every year. They all were done on my machine. I did make a twin size quilt for the daughter when she was three (now 35). My machine’s tension is messed up and I can’t find anybody to work on it as it is so old.
Connie all kinds of gremlins are haunting your post lately.
Carla, keep safe!
Eileen over time is a pain but, pays well.
I am plugging along with my conversion from band to sleeve. I spend a lot of my time on my old and new surgery boards. I am now 5 out. At 3 months I broke my 205 set point, the lowest I ever got to with the band and since I had my 2nd DD 32 years ago. At 4 months I made it to onderland. I am now 15/20 pounds less than I have ever been in 32 years (other than during the divorce.)
