Early Friday Morning
Good Morning, All. I am saddened to see Nan's post about Morgan. There are no words to express how I am feeling about Morgan's prognosis. Nan, please know that I am thinking of you all and praying for you.
My colonoscopy is Monday. (Oh, joy.) Since I've had colon cancer, having this procedure is always a bit unnerving but I am thankful that such a test is possible. The prep is the worst part and I am focusing on Monday afternoon when it will all be behind me.
Don't have anything planned for the weekend since I'll be bathroom-bound on Sunday. (Ha!)
What are you doing this weekend?
Cindy P.
Good Morning Cindy P and OFF-
Nan, so sorry to read about Morgan. I will put her in my positive vibe list and hope for the best. Small comfort to you, your family and Morgan but Vickie is right, when these happen I too believe it is meant for some higher plan. Sucks either way.
Connie I can relate to not being allowed in the pool during thunder and lightning but pool is probably better for your fibro. Take an inventory of all your talents and then look for something that will give you some cash using those talents. Balancing check books for older people who can't see anymore (like my mother), house sitting, sitting with a house bound person while their primary care giver takes a break. The possibilities are endless, just have to clear the forest of worrying about moving out of your sister's place and that abuse. Capitalize on the life lessons you learned from her!
Cindy P - my thoughts will be with you on Sunday. I had to do a bowel prep for my hysterectomy. Yuck, youch, yuck! A&D Ointment was my saving grace if you get my drift.
Well yesterday, I got the little cabin in shape for visitors. My first wave arrives on Tuesday. Just have to run to town to get some bath mats and kitchen mats as they were ruined by the flood from the broken pipe.
Found a great recipe for a veggie gyro on Facebook. I shared it for those of you who are friends with me on Facebook. I can't wait to try it. Something new. It's supposed to be WW friendly (6 pro points). I may just do it with the greek yogurt sauce and not the home made pita. We'll see.
Still have lots of yard work to do. Have plants to plant in the planters and tomato plants to pick up. Got the lawn mower working and mowed the lawn or rather the postage stamp. One more week in Maine and then back to NH for the high school graduation. Will be with my Mom for that week and she's planning to confront my brother about his selfish behavior. Can you say stress already building. Anyway, one day at a time.
Book project is hovering in the background. Don't really want to convene a meeting with the team after the debacle of the last meeting but I guess I'll deal with that either before or after the family confrontation or just put it off til July. We'll see.
Not much else new here in Maine. We're getting warm weather and sunny days so I won't complain. The dragonflies and butterflies have arrived so the black flies are disappearing. Now safe to spend time in the yard!
Positive thoughts to all of you in need, especially Nan and Connie and little Morgan. Nan and Connie continue to vent on the forum you are supported by us even though we're not close by.
Cindi B.
Good morning Cindys and my OFF sistas!
Cindy P., best of luck with the colonoscopy. Only ever had one of those. Shudder. But you're right: thank God the diagnostic tool exists.
Cindi, you sound so chipper today! I think being home in Maine suits you!
As for myself, got a busy, busy day and weekend ahead. My company arrives this evening. I've still got a bit of cleaning left to do, plus cooking. I'm trying to get all the cooking done today, so I don't have to mess with it during the weekend. I'm making a Tex Mex lasagna, jalapeno popper dip, guacamole, and coconut/pineapple empanadas today. Also making a french toast breakfast casserole and a quiche for breakfast tomorrow morning. Got the ingredients for 2 kinds of muffins for Sunday morning, plus I'll fry bacon. Got plenty of sandwich fixin's, too. So we won't starve! LOL!
But I'm not exactly sure who all is coming to my house this weekend. Seems my niece's family has fragmented on her! They bought 4 tickets to see George--not cheap either! The plan was for niece (Pam), her husband, and their 2 young adult children to come to go to the concert. Also their 4 year old son was coming to play with Benny. Anyway, turns out the husband is not coming because he's sick, and the teenaged daughter isn't coming because she won't leave her boyfriend (ahh, young love) and HE can't come because he's doing something baseball, etc., etc., etc. Pam is about to pull her hair out.
So now my nephew's wife Lauren is coming and that still leaves one ticket. I've tried and tried to call Carrie and her phone must be uncharged. Don't know who we'll find to take the last ticket, but it's a sold out concert. Surely there will be someone who wants it if Carrie doesn't.
Also, they were leaving on Sunday (because the husband had to be back at work on Monday), but now they might stay an extra day. Which is great, because we can go tubing on Sunday with the little boys, but I'll have to figure out some more meals if they do stay.
Didn't make it to the Y yesterday, but I thought I felt a little "lighter" this morning, so I stepped on the scale and sure enough, I'm down a pound! Hurray! Can't wait to get back on my exercise routine next week.
Poor little Benny got absolutely chewed up with mosquito bites last night! He looks just awful this morning. Never seen such big red whelps on a baby before. He is just terribly reactive to mosquito bites! The strange thing is that they're not biting the rest of us. I guess they like their meals young and tender.
Well, enough of my ranting. I've got way too much to do this morning to waste it playing on the computer. Prayers going up for Connie and Nan and Morgan and everyone else. Hope Eileen is enjoying her visit with her family. Wish we would hear from some of our MIA's.
Love you all!

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Good Evening Ladies,
I was out the door , and shopping most of the day. Also paid my rent.
Not feeling so great this evening. Low grade fever. Sinus infection. See an allergist next week. Dread going off my AllegraD for five days for the skin test.
Now I have a ton of stuff to put away during commercials while watching the Phillies game.
Weekend plans are up in the air.
Praying for Morgan and Connie.

Trish, are you also on antidepressants? Did you know they can mask allergies? The last couple allergy tests I've had showed no allergies, and I know I have allergies because I've been tested before. The last allergist I saw said the antidepressants could mask the allergens and I would have to go off them for a couple of days. As I didn't want to do that (and my coworkers wouldn't want me to, either ... I get nasty off my "happy pills") ... I decided to just go with I know I'm allergic, I don't want allergy shots, just give me some pills and my inhaler and I'll be happy. Just wanted to make sure you knew.
