SATURDAY WHAT'S UP????????

Hi Judy and my OFF family:

I have the day off ... a rare Saturday. I could go do something like a normal person but I'm too tired and have a headache. I have my pot of coffee and pineapple chicken cooking in the crockpot. I followed a recipe I found on Facebook, but I added ginger and garlic, plus nearing the end of cooking time, I'll add green pepper (don't want it to get too soggy). After I tasted it, I decided it needed the ginger and garlic. It was a little too bland.

Judy, enjoy some time off. Sounds like you have a nice BBQ planned. I'll be working Monday as usual. I'll have Tuesday off as I head to Chicago.

Vickie, glad you have the house all to yourself with Butch. Enjoy your solitude.

Annette, glad to see you on here. I'm sure it will be hard for Melanie to understand your cancer. She's a big girl now, though, huh? How old is she? 6?

Well, not much else going on. Watching "Babe" (the one about the pig) ... funny movie, I'd forgotten. Baseball later. We had a busy night at work last night ... five stories in the last hour (damn Pacers game). We still got out 10 minutes before deadline.

Have a nice day. It's not raining here, but with the headache I have, it must be coming soon (and my knees hurt). Weather Channel bug says Sunday and Monday.

Eileen have you treid using more magnesium when your headaches come? Just read something about using it to help ease the pain of headaches. I did see that rain is in your neck of the woods though. Hope it stays away from us until our BBQ is over and done with! Then I do not care what it does...well it can't flood...do NOT want that ever to happen here!!!

Let me know how that chicken comes out. Will it be sweet? Like orange chicken is? Wonder if it will make me sick like chinese food does? Not sure why all of a sudden chinese food makes me sick now! I could eat it before no problem and now sicker than a dog!!! Sure miss it!!! Even if I make it myself I still get sick!!

Enjoy your movie...BABE loved it!!

HUGSSSSSS

I don't know, Judy ... I take magnesium citrate three times a day with my calcium citrate. Headache is gone now ... Imitrex made it go bye-bye. I'm sure it's the rain ... my left knee hurt like hell this morning too. Glad I don't work tonight.

So far, the chicken isn't sweet. It's just pineapple in its own juice, no sugar added. I think maybe what could make you sick from Chinese food is all the veggies ... lots of fiber there. When I first ate it, I ate way too fast and it all just bulked up in my pouch and there was nowhere for it to go but up. So I learned I had to chew it very slowly, eat very slowly, let it go down. Or maybe it's the MSG ... that does bother a lot of people. Don't know. Anyway, so far, the sauce isn't overly sweet ... I gave it a little kick by adding some garlic and ginger. Tastes pretty good. I'm going to add some green pepper in a little later so it doesn't get too soggy.

OK...it does sound good!! As for the chinese food...when I make it I don't add any MSG to it at all...and I STILL get sick. I chew my food good and I feel so sick I wish I would die it is that bad!! And I do not use rice either. So I guess I just give up another food...sighs. Now why can't I ever get sick on the sweets???? GRRRR

I don't like my green peppers soggy either...yuck!!

Judy and OFF-

The weather here in Maine is horrible.  Rainy and windy.  They're predicting snow for the western mountains.  Go figure!  There are lots of unhappy fisherpeople in the area at the moment I'm sure.

Vickie-  You and Butch should be playing all weekend!  Enjoy the peace and quiet.

Judy - The BBQ sounds like it will be nice.  I'll swing chickens for good weather in Ohio on Monday.

Annette - Hats are always spiffy!  I had a dear friend who always wore hats when we went out to dinner.  It was part of her style!

Eileen-  read somewhere that taking magnesium and calcium citrate at the same time is worthless, body will absorb the calcium but not magnesium at the same time.  I take magnesium in the morning and the calcium in morning and night.  I've found a powdered magnesium citrate that I add to my morning yogurt and I've also found one that you can dissolve in your water bottle.

Assembled my recumbent elliptical machine the other day.  Did 20 minutes today.  I like it.  It is a Schwinn which has a fan to build resistance.  It gives off a nice cooling breeze while working out.

I picked up my mail today.  The bills are catching up from my surgery.  I looked up my statements on the insurance company website last night and almost fainted.

They billed the surgery at close to $50K.  I was floored.  I haven't added up what the insurance company finally paid, just know that I have to write some check for my parts.  It will be interesting to add up what was finally paid and what the difference is between billed and paid.  Just not into it at the moment.

Positive thoughts to all in need.  Hope Connie that you are at least reading our posts and knowing that we are thinking of you.  Have a great weekend folks.  Cindi

Cindi, I have never heard that about magnesium and calcium. My nutritionist in Grand Rapids (before I left Michigan) said it was best to take them together. So I did. I have to take 1,500 mg of calcium a day. I'm constantly popping vitamins.

Sure hope that your insurance cover most of that huge bill you are getting!!! OMG!!!!
