GoodMorning, Wednesday
Hi, Everyone. Up early this morning. My husband has an early dental appointment today.
Thinking about Connie and hoping that things are OK with her. She is such a ray of sunshine on OFF. I've missed reading her posts the last couple of days. Prayers going up for her.
It's been raining cats and dogs here on the Oregon coast. The lawn is at least six inches long and growing with every drop of moisture (as are the weeds).
Glad to see that Vickie's Carrie is doing so well after surgery and that her other daugther (is it Chris?) got a promotion at her job. She (Vickie) seems like such a caring and devoted mom to her daughters and a wonderful Grandma to her grandson. She's the kind of parent/grandparent I wish I were like. I'm such a reserved person that I don't reach out to people like I wish I would. I've been called cold before. I'm not really and I have feelings for people but I don't express them very well.
I went to my OBGYN the other day. She said my thyroid is enlarged and that I should get it checked out. Although I've had cancer before, I am not freaked out by this news. But, I'm not stupid either and I've scheduled a physical with my PCP for early June. Also have a colonoscopy scheduled for the first Monday in June. Taking care of business I guess.
Well, I've rattled on about not much of anything here. I hope you all have a good day.
Cindy P.
Morning Off family!
Vickie, congrats to Carrie and Chris!
Cindi, Prayers for a good check up with the thyroid. Hope it's nothing.
Connie, I hope your ok!
Got all 36 14 inch log cabin squares done and put it up on a design wall. Boy oh boy it's gigantic. I'll start sewing the squares together today. What the heck was I thinking!!!
hope you all have a great day, thoughts and prayers for all,
Debbie
Good morning Cindy P and Debbie A and all my OFF sistas!
Cindy, thanks for them kind words, hon! Sometimes I feel like I try and try and never do a good job with anyone.
Debbie, I am so envious of your quilting adventure. I have always wanted to quilt!
Carrie and I had a good time yesterday. We went and had mani-pedis together! I've not had mani-pedis very often, so it is really a treat for me. Then I picked up a new cross stitch project and started work on it last night. OMG. I am OLD. I could barely see well enough to stitch on it without my "cheaters" (magnifying glasses), which are at home. But I'm excited to have a new project to work on. Been a couple of years since I've done a cross stitch. I think the last one was Benny's birth announcement.
Today Carrie is going back to school for the first time, so I will amuse myself with shopping today. I am also catching up on all my TV shows. I've watched all the episodes of Nashville and Castle so far. Today I'll watch Grey's. I just never get to watch TV at home any more!
Yesterday I made a white bean soup for Carrie, which was delicious. I pureed it and we froze it in small containers for her to have "fast food" over the next couple of weeks while she's on her liquid diet. Today I am making ****a-leeky soup and we'll also puree it and freeze it for her.
I think I'll probably be going home tomorrow afternoon. I think my girl is doing just fine.
I'm worried that we haven't heard from Connie these past couple of days. She's not been on FB either. I hope she checks in today. Connie, we all love you!
Love everyone on this board! Wishing you all a great day!
Hi Cindy and my OFF family:
I was up early today too ... had an appointment with my pain doc's nurse practitioner. My back has been giving me a lot of problems. Spasms, burning pain down my legs. So I went there and then stopped off at Target for a few things that I needed for my crockpot pineapple chicken. Well, I got home, took out garbage, got the mail and decided to relax for awhile before I started dinner. Then I got a call from work ... my boss called in sick and they wanted me to come into work tonight and then I'll have Saturday off. Well, OK. Hadn't started cooking dinner yet. So I guess I'll wait until Saturday to make that.
Back is still bothering me ... all the nurse practitioner gave me was a prescription for Voltaren gel for my knees. I don't know when I'll have my procedure done for my back again ... they have to get approval from insurance before they can schedule it again.
Cindy, hope all is OK with the thyroid and the colonoscopy. I still need to schedule a mammogram. I've been putting it off for some reason ... just keep forgetting to call and schedule.
Anyway, I guess I should have lunch so maybe I can take a nap before work. I got up at 7 a.m. so I need a little extra sleep. Have a good day.
Thank you all for caring. My life sucks bad right now. I am staying at Pam's for now. I am so allergic to her cat....my asthma and COPD is not handling this well. I just have to make the best of it right now.
I have been in contact with a dozen agencies. There isn't any help available..... so many budget cuts.
Please keep me in your prayers....swing chickens or whatever.
I continue to think about you all....always in my prayers and good thoughts.
Love and hugs.....connie d
Connie,
I've kept you in my prayers this week. I'm so sorry you are going through this. Is there a Rescue Mission nearby? I'm going to start volunteering at one here in Lansing. It's a Christian agency that provides housing for men, women and children. The men stay at a separate building from the women and children. I signed up to work in the day room and the thrift store.
I hope you'll check in here when you can. We love you, and want to help you in some way.
Love you,
Trish

Well, I'm extremely late. Babysat the boys all day, while dealing with a bloody nose. My Coumadin INR was high, and I couldn't get the nosebleed to stop. I ate a ton of broccoli, coz it's high in Vitamin K, which lowers the INR. Took me all day, but finally got the bleeding under control.
I didn't do much once I got home. Got to watch the Phils win, which is always fun.
Nothing new.
Hugs,
Trish
