Tuesday- What's goin' on?
Hello, everyone!
The strangest day here in Niagara! We went from T-shirt weather on Thursday to frost-covered cars yesterday and this morning it was HAIL! A cousin up north reported almost four feet of snow! Tonight, it is likely, they say, that the fruit farmers will have helicopters hovering above the fruit trees to keep the air stirring....this will protect them from frost. If the blossoms freeze and drop off, there will be no fruit- grapes, pears, peaches, nectarines, cherries.
Derek was over today…I had to ask him to return two canopies that I’d bought on sale for our summer event and go to a different store to buy two GAZEBOES instead…these have four screened walls and “POP” up to erect....let’s hope that we can get them BACK INTO their little wheeled storage bags. I’m working with two other women on this event and they are driving me crazy by second-guessing everything. However, I am practicing patience, tolerance and doing my best not to revert to a control-freak.
My “office” is out of control. I find it difficult to do any cleanup because there’s no please to put things until I figure out where they belong…so I stupidly procrastinate instead….yet it hangs on my conscience.
Yesterday, I had to order two black ink cartridges and a full colour set from Epson for close to $170.00..sadly necessary because I have so many files to print out for our BPW Provincial Conference that I’m attending at the end of the month. Then, to make it worse, I was almost done my protein drink powder and had to spend another $150 on my Matrix.5- two five pound bags. YIKES! I may have to go out and sell pencils on the corner to pay for all this at once.
Matrix.5 is one of the few protein powders that I seem to tolerate. It’s like hot chocolate and that’s my breakfast each morning….sometimes, I have another one just before bed if it’s a chilly or damp night like tonight. I’ll be wearing my fuzzy purple bed sox again tonight and adding a woolen blankets over my legs!
My body thermostat never adjusted and if I’m not enjoying a “personal tropical moment”, I am usually cold. Another odd thing after my RnY surgery is that I am rarely hungry. In fact, I have to remember to eat. Heaven knows why that doesn’t make me skinny!....My hands starts to tremble and I know that I have to eat something.
Carla….I am always amazed at how independent you are and so easily driving from state to state! I am directionally-challenged.
Debbie…what a horror story to live thru, after bonding to your baby girl, only to almost lose her….I’m so glad for your Happy Ending!
Trish, it sounds like you enjoyed a marvellous day with loved ones!
Connie…happy that you enjoyed such a special day…even fun things can tire us out!
Eileen…I understand how shift work totally turns your world upside down. JB was on it for over 25 years….even affects the body systems.
I know I’m missing so many people. I try to read daily but I don’t post all that often…this women’s event takes so much time and energy. We are all so anxious to see SPRING finally settled in. Enjoy today..be safe…smile.
Yeah...here come the helicopters!

Good mornin' ya'll.
Tomorrow I head for Oregon, again. Ten days this time. The eight days next month. My daughter posted on FB that she was having an appetizer party on Friday. She told everyone to bring an appetizer and their mending!
Nancy, I can relate to the office thing. I have crochet projects set up in three different rooms! Each time I go sit by one I think it will spontaniously fini****self. It never happens!
lots to do before my trip tomorrow.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!
Good Morning Nancy and Caroline,
So good to see you both post. Nancy I relate to the office problem. I have that problem as well. I'll have paperwork I should file, and for some reason, it just piles up, and never makesss its way into the filing cabinet. Caroline, I have an entire packing box of unfinished crochet projects. Right now, I have to get serious about a bedspread I'm making for my Lincoln's fourth birthday in August. It's in Green and White, Michigan State colors.
Today, I have tidying to do, and some crocheting. Right now I'm fighting the urge to doze off in my rocking chair. This happens from time to time.
I'm waiting for the weather to permanently stay Spring, so I can plant my flower plants. I'm also thinking of putting in some vegetable plants on the side yard. I don't have a lot of room, but do love fresh tomatoes in the Summer. I have a bird feeder hanging from a tree right outside my living room picture window. Every time I fill it, they manage to empty it out onto the ground. I saw a beautiful male cardinal and male blue jay at the same time, a couple of days ago. I should get a bird book, because I've seen some birds that I don't recognize, and had never seen before.
I better get more coffee. I need to wake up some more.
Have a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trih

Good morning Nancy and everyone......
Nancy....the weather is so crazy....rainy and cold and in the 60s yesterday...today is supposed to reach 90.....then back to 70s tomorrow. Not good for those of us that have arthritis and such. I pray the fruit farmers don't lose their crops. You are amazing handling those two women that are second guessing everything. I would politely say "well next year when you are in charge you can have it that way...for now this is the way I will be doing it".....you don't need things to be changing. This has gotten to be hard enough on you as it is. You truly are a patient and tolerant person.
Carolyn....I pray you have safe travels tomorrow on your way to Oregon. Where in Oregon will you be? My granddaughter lives in Troutdale right outside Portland. I have never heard of a appetizer party and to bring your mending. How fun...and a great idea!!
Trish.....SPRING.....what is that?? The weather is absolutely crazy!! I sure hope it all gets straightened out soon. We had such a long horrible winter. I need warmth now!! I think it would be a great idea to get a book about birds. I used to watch the birds and had a book. Of course that was when i had a home...LOL.
Yesterday was a busy day for me. I saw my psychiatrist...he claims I am quite sane...I just laughed. He said he wants me out of this house asap. He said it isn't good for my health or my mental health...I couldn't argue there! Still waiting for a call!!
I had to buy protein drinks yesterday. They were on sale so I bought 4/ 6 packs. I drink one a day in the morning as I can't eat that early. I bought 8/ 6 packs of my Glaceau Vitamin Water. No calories just fruit flavored...no artificial sweeteners and no carbonation. I drink one a day as a treat. It was on sale for $3.99....regularly $5.99 a 6 pack. I had to stock up. Then I had to go stock up on my calcium chewables. I bought 4 of them as they were on sale too. I stocked up on vitamins last month. I try to keep ahead of this as I don't ever want to run out. I am set for awhile!!
I plan on cleaning the bathrooms as my sister's is horrible as always. She just WON'T do it. I keep explaining it isn't healthy for either of us but she just lets it go. I finally told her I will HAVE to do it. That made her happy!! Can you spell LAZY...UGH!
I will spend the rest of the day relaxing and reading a new book my daughter gave me. I have heard so many good things about it.
Have a wonderful day everyone!! Prayers for so many in need.
Much love and lots of hugs to all...connie d
Hi Nancy and my OFF family:
Well, I had a whole post written and hit the wrong button and it got erased. Anyway, glad to hear from you, Nancy. I love working evenings. I'm a night owl. Always have been. I hate getting up early. I volunteered for the night shift in Grand Rapids. Here, we started a new day shift and they ask me to rotate onto it ... I asked not to be included in that. I thought it would be too hard on my body to work sometimes days, sometimes nights ... even if it was a month at a time.
It's my weekend, and I feel like crap. I woke up with a headache and my knees hurt. No rain in the forecast until Thursday. I've tried everything I can think of to get rid of the headache, but nothing is working. I'm sitting here with icepacks on my neck and knee and hoping something will work.
Vickie, I hope Carrie will come through the surgery well.
Carolyn, good to hear from you again, too.
Well, I'm doing laundry and not much else today. I stripped the bed ... it's about all I can do right now. I'm going to be a lazy slug.
Have a good day
Hello, everyone!
Happy Tuesday from sunny Florida! Yes, the weather seems to be crazy all over......we had a record breaking low this morning (47 degrees) but the rest of the day has been warmish and sunny. I hope everyone is doing well today, sounds like everyone is keeping busy.
My task for the day: Flea control, yuk. Summer does come early here and the fleas are out in abundance, worse this year than in a long time. My three kitty babies have been miserable and now the fleas have invaded the house, so drastic measures are called for. I've gotten the kitties cleared (mostly) of the little buggers, and sprayed the entire downstairs today to get rid of whatever is in the carpet and furniture. Will do the upstairs tomorrow. My cats only go out on my screened in porch, never out in the grass, but you can bring fleas in on your shoes and that's apparently what's happened. Not very exciting compared to what some of you are dealing with, by any means.
Have a good day!
Kathy
