TUESDAY, already!?

Hi Nancy and my OFF family:

Your vacation sounds wonderful. I hope to take a short trip to the Wisconsin Dells after Memorial Day (and see Mom for her birthday). Wish I could afford more, but I'm happy with what I can afford. I have a job I like, my kitty and what more could I want? Well, a few friends here maybe and something to do in my spare time with my hands so I won't stuff my face with food.

Didn't sleep well at all last night; kept waking up sweating. Finally gave up at 7:30 a.m. and got out of bed, made coffee and breakfast. Headache came on a little later. Back and knees are hurting ... we aren't expecting rain until Friday, though. I made an appointment with my doctor for tomorrow to do something about the night sweats and also my weight. Deaconess also has a bariatric center ... maybe they can check me out. I have to do something ... either I get this under control or I buy new clothes ... can't afford the new clothes.

I volunteered to work OT on Wednesday, so this is my only day off. I decided to go see "42" (the movie about baseball player Jackie Robinson) today and now that the headache has gone away, I think I will do that. I got a birthday check from my best friend Roxane in the mail (and a Starbucks gift card), so I'll use it on the movie and dinner out (or carry-out).

It's a beautiful day today ... 71 degrees and going up to the 80s. It was nice yesterday, too. I think I may have to see if my capris still fit. Hope they do. Like I said, I can't afford new clothes.

Well, have a good day.

Good morning Nancy B and all my OFF sistas!

I am up a little later than usual today.  Long night of interrupted sleep!  Actually I was on here around 2 a.m., reading Nancy and Trish's posts, but didn't want to type and make noise on the keyboard for fear of waking Butch up.  Butch, bless his sweet heart, got up early with the baby and they let me sleep in another couple of hours.

Anyway, another beautiful day in the neighborhood--sort of!  Very humid here today.

Well, I tried those cold oats.  Bleh!  I think I'm too conditioned to eating hot oatmeal to ever be a fan of cold oats!  I'll heat 'em up in the microwave later on.  It's too early for me to be hungry yet anyway.

Yesterday I was finally able to start back sewing my curtains!  Hurray!  Took me awhile to remember what step I was on and how to proceed (that's what comes of dropping a project and waiting a month to pick it back up), but I finally got going and got one more panel made.  Today I just have to make the 4th and final panel for the living room and I'll be done with that room.  I like my new curtains in there very much!  The new blinds and curtains really did make a difference in that room.

Next I can start on my kitchen/dining room curtains.  Got to decide what style I want to make for in there.

I also started a fun cap for Loomed with Love.  I need to go buy some bright fun colors of yarn, but I did have some bright pink, orange and white, so that's what I'm making for the first cap.  I found a cute pattern for a 4th of July hat, so I want to make several of those ahead of time and get them sent off for distribution this summer.  And I ordered a Santa hat pattern for all sizes from baby to adult.  I'll make a bunch of those to send in the fall for distribution in December.

I've never worked on a knitting loom.  Has anyone had experience with that?  I asked Christie to check on them at Hobby Lobby for me and I might buy one if they're not too expensive.  Always fun to learn a new craft, especially if it involves yarn!  LOL!

We're talking about taking the boat out on the lake tomorrow while Benny is in school.  It will be our first time out this spring.  I hope we get to do it.  I love going boating and it seems we never get to go as often as we would like.

Nancy, I hope you get the best results possible from your tests.  And I hope the pain stays away this time.  Annette, you poor darling!  So sorry for your bad fall in the bathroom.  That had to have hurt!  Kisses for the ouchies!  Trish, you sound so happy in your new home.  Good luck with the lawn mowing.  Debbie A., I'm sorry you've been hurting and boo! hiss! on the migraine!  Those are the pits.  Karen, I don't know what to say about your friends.  Life is unfair at times, but we never know what God has in store for us.  (If we did, we would probably run screaming down the road!)  Better to just trust in faith that all things work to the good for those who love the Lord.  Carla, we think NC is so beautiful.  We've always said if we weren't going to live in Texas, we would move to NC!  Connie and Eileen--I am with you about not buying bigger clothes!  We just have to support one another here and all try to maintain/lose regain together.  Maybe if we started back on that daily thread about what we're eating each day?  I think Laureen used to do that?  Maybe we need some accountability to help us.

Well, I've messed around here on the computer long enough for one day.  Love you all!

Vickie...so glad you got a little extra sleep this morning. Your hubby is a real keeper!!

Glad you are almost done with your living room curtains. Can't wait to see pics when all your rooms are done!

I think it is awesome that you make those hats for other people. You are such a sweetheart!! If I could I would do them too! My hands wouldn't allow that anymore and I don't know how to anyway. I just never caught on. Crafts and painting were always my thing. Can't do that anymore either.

Have a great evening...love you..HUGS...connie d

Nancy, I am so happy you both got away for a while. I hope & pray for all of you that are in pain. I don't have pain so much & I am terminal.
We are in Grand Rapids again. We are trying to spend as much time as we can with Jamie & Morgan. I believe she will be in the hospital about 6 weeks. Radiation 7 days a week. They open the clinic on weekends just for her. Spectrum is the best hospital I have been too. Hope you all have a wonderful day!!!!!

Nan,

Saw Morgan's picture on FB!  Wow, what a little fighter she is!  I would like to make a special cap just for her.  Can you please measure her head size (circumference) for me, and send me that info, plus her mailing address?  What are her favorite colors?  You know I am praying for her and for you and all your family.  Love you!

Vic

Good morning vicki. Forgive me for not getting back to you sooner. I feel like we are always on the road. Morgans favorite colors are red & yellow. We couldn't measure her head, sometimes it is very tender. She may only have a short time here on earth. I am still praying for a miracle. Her head size is small. I am sorry, thats the best I can do. Thank you. Nan

That's okay, Nan.  I certainly understand!  I will see what I can make for her as quickly as possible.  When I have it ready, I'll PM you either here or on FB to get a mailing address, okay?  I'll just make it child's medium.  That should be okay.

Hon, I am praying for you and Morgan and your whole family.  I don't know what else to say except that Morgan is blessed to have such a loving family and y'all are blessed to have her.  We can't always understand God's timing, but know that whenever she goes to Heaven, she will be cradled in God's loving arms with no more pain or suffering.  So hard to accept when a child is called home, but she will know she is loved and that's the most important gift you can give her.

My heart breaks for all of you.  Love you.  Vic
