Monday Morning OFF Family

Hello my OFF family:

Couldn't sleep, kept waking up sweating, despite sleeping on an ice pack (had to finally throw that one away, it was oozing). I finally got out of bed and made some Sleepytime Extra tea to see if that would make a difference. I was sleepy enough, just couldn't get my body to go to sleep ... and cool off enough. If this continues (it has been happening too many nights) I will call a doc because I'm out of menopause, or at least I thought I was. Yet, I keep having night sweats and hot flashes.

I had a nice easy night last night for once ... no late games, we got done before 10 p.m. and then I helped out with other pages and even got home earlier than usual. Still, couldn't get to sleep. Dozed off a few times, just couldn't stay asleep. Also have had some leg cramps (yes, I take potassium; I have since I've had WLS).

Anyway, what's happening with y'all? I'm going to try to go back to bed and try to sleep. This is my Friday, so I want to get some sleep before I have to go to work tonight. Have a good day, I'll check back later. yes

Good morning Eileen and all my OFF sistas!

Eileen, so sorry about the miserable night.  I have yet to experience the joys of night sweats.  Fortunately, my hot flash phase seems to have tapered off with the return of TOM.  My body is all mixed up.

So we are back from our weekend getaway and it was lovely!  Much needed couple time for us.  We did go to Gonzales on Saturday (and yes, it was raining), but you know, that little town has taken a turn for the worse.  I guess the economy hit it hard.  Last time we were there, the downtown area was full of little shops and restaurants and things to do.  Not this time.  So we only stayed one night.  Instead we took our time meandering home yesterday, taking lots of backroads and looking at the countryside.  We did stop in Luling (watermelon capital of Texas) and spent a very happy few hours there, shopping in the antique stores and the farmer's market.

Got home and had a big family dinner with Carrie and Chris and Benny.  It's always so nice to have our whole family together under one roof, plus we thought we would miss Carrie entirely this visit, so it was great to come home early and get to spend some time with her.

Busy week happening this week, but that's okay.  Hope everyone else is doing well!

Love you all!

Post Script:  Oh, and I wanted to post 2 websites of interest this morning.

The first is for overnight oatmeal recipes.  http://www.buzzfeed.com/arielknutson/overnight-oat-recipes-o atmeal-cold  I haven't yet tried these, but plan to.  I love oatmeal, but don't like to eat it for breakfast when it's hot outside.  These are for cold oatmeal in the morning.  I thought these sounded very good, and you could mix protein powder in with oats at night.

The second is for all you crocheters and knitters.  It's called Loomed with Love on FB.  www.facebook.com/pages/Loomed-With-Love  You can look at the community page.  It's a group who make cute and fanciful hats for children battling cancer.  I can't wait to get started making caps for this cause.  Since childhood cancer affects so many of our members (and their precious families), I thought this was a very worthy cause to bring to everyone's attention.

I'm off to sew on my curtains today.  Love you all AGAIN!  LOL!

Morning OFF Family!!

Eileen, I've dealt with hot flashes and night sweats for quite awhile. I have to say that since losing 70 lbs it doesn't happen that much any more. Talk to your doctor and hopefully they can help. I hope you get relief and sleep soon.

Vickie, glad you and Butch had a good time. It sounded so fun.

Need to get going have a doctors appointment today. Just a routine check up.

Have a great day, thoughts and prayers for all,

Debbie

Good morning Eileen and everyone....

Eileen....sorry you are having to deal with night sweats and hot flashes. I never had any of that as I had a complete hysterectomy at 28 years old. Hope tonight is a better night.

Vickie....sorry Gonzale was a bit of a wash. I am sure just you and Butch being together made it better! It sounds like you had a wonderful time on the way home. Glad you got there in time to see Carrie. Did she take  her dogs home?

Debbie....hope all went well at your doctor appointment!

As for me...I got home (???) about 6:00 PM  last night. Driving those distances kill me. I am hoping this new pain clinic is able to take care of some of this pain.

I did have a wonderful time!! LOVE  spending time with my family!! Thanks everyone that commented on Gracie's pic on Facebook with her fish. She is my sweetie for sure!! She caught the most fish that day...go Gracie!!!  Her smile just melts my heart! She is the spitting image of Jamie at that age!! Made lots of great memories this trip with my daughters and grandchildren.  Amanda (granddaughter) lives in Oregon. I did call her and she called me a lot. Sure miss her!!

Nothing has changed here. I came home to a mess as I knew I would. Had to clean my bathroom before I could even use it..grrrrrr! Oh well!

I did all my unpacking last night. I took a shower and was in bed early.  Today it is beautiful outside, if my sister ever gets up off the couch I want to go out and sit on the deck and read a book Carrie gave me. That is all I have planned. Lazy day!!

Wishing you all a beautiful day!! Prayers needed for many of our OFF friends.

Love and more hugs...connie d

Hi Connie,  YES!  Carrie took Lulu and Molly HOME with her!  I have Roomba doing double vacuum time today for all the dog hair.  Also, Lulu just about destroyed my brand new little flower bed chasing a squirrel up the tree, so I get to replant that this week, too!  Love those puppies, but Lulu's worse than a 2 year old.  Oh, wait, I have one of those too!  Woe is me!  LOL!

Afternoon OFF family...quick stop in today...remember that tenant we had evicted that was knee deep in garbage? The one that has also threatened me? Guess who is back in the area!! Yes he is!!!!!!! I alerted several tenants that can see the area where cars come through and if he is spotted driving in to call the polic fast!!!!! We have a tresspassing on him and he is not allowed on the property and he will be arrested!!!!! I am scared to death he will also hurt me...yikes!!!!!

Got a new tenant for one of the empty ones here on the goverment side coming in next week to start his paperwork...thats good news!!! He is approved IF his police report comes back clean!!

Well it stopped raining so better get BAndit out again so he can "go".

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

Hi Eileen and OFF Family,

I was in the middle of a lengthy post, when my laptop did an automatic shutdown to install a program.  Argh.

Franklin's birthday party was awesome yesterday.  Colleen used a theme based on the children's book, "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."  All the decorations, and most of the menu, were from ideas she got on Pinterest and Etsy.  It was so well organized, including fun activities for the 16 kids who were there.  My grandchildren have 8 cousins on their Daddy's side.

One of the foods in the children's book was chocolate cake.  When we sang "Happy Birthday," Colleen put a huge piece on the highchair in front of him.  She gave him a taste, and then he grabbed it with both hands and started trying to lick his hands.  He went at it with both hands, smearing chocolate frosting all over his face, in his hair, and in his ears.  He absolutely loved it.

Sadly, before we knew it, we were cleaning up, and packing food to take home.  Chris and Casey left for the airport to stay at a hotel there, because they had a 7:00 a.m. flight this morning.  This morning, Colleen and I took Eileen to a nearby regional airport.  Lincoln was upset when we dropped her off.  He really was attached to her while she was here.

Today, I have some tidying to do.  Tomorrow, I intend to tackle my bedroom.  It's a disaster area right now.

Hugs and prayers,

Trish

Sounds like you aren't the only one that will miss your sister, Eileen!! Franklin really bonded with her. Sorry she had to leave so early!

Love you....hugs....connie d
