Gray Thursday morning

Good morning sistas!

Another cool gray morning here.  What happened to Spring???

So, I went to the doctor yesterday evening.  Dr. Fehlis is VERY YOUNG!  Maybe younger than my daughters.  Hard to tell because he has a baby face, but he's brand new.  Anyway, we discussed my shoulder, did some strength tests, took xrays, and he's decided I have rotator cuff tendonitis.  Not bursitis.  Whatever.  The treatment is the same.  I got a big ol' shot of steroids in my shoulder and some PT exercises to do with a giant rubber band.  No relief from the shot as yet, although my shoulder is getting better from inactivity, like always.  He says there's no surgical treatment for what I have.  In other words, "live with it."  Phew.  Don't much like that option.

He's also quite insistent that I start back on the baby aspirin.  I explained all about RNY and WLS, but you can tell this is not an area he's familiar with.  Nor any of the staff there.  Do you know I told 3 people that I had WLS 2 years ago, and not a single person asked me "how much weight did you lose?"  Don't y'all think that's a rather ignorant response from a medical office?

But, I digress.  So I told him I can't take aspirin or NSAIDS, etc., but he said I could take one coated baby aspirin a day along with an acid blocker like Prevacid.  Well, to be honest, my other doctor in Nacogdoches told me the same thing.  So I guess I might ought to do it.  Anybody else take baby aspirin?  Or have any thoughts about this?

Well, that's all the news this morning.  My shoulder is still hurting, so I won't be doing much today.  I tried to sew yesterday afternoon, but my head just wasn't in it.  Maybe today.

Love you all!

Jo, I've never attempted to sew denim anything.  You must have a really good machine.  I can just imagine trying to sew those flat seams.  Good luck!  Post a pic when you're done!

Good Morning Vicki, OFFr's,

The sun is shining here and the temps are in the upper 40s, heading to 60s today, that is a good thing, everything is in bloom and I am just enjoying the change of seasons, even if Mother Nature can't make up her mind. . .

Hard to believe that in today's world, so many are ignorant of WLS, but that is where being proactive about our health comes in, as well meaning as some doctors can be, their ignorance can be dangerous with us. . .  as for the baby aspirin question, last year when I had my issues with the heart, I was taking one and my surgeon has said that if health necessitates taking NSAIDS and/or a baby aspirin, you have to weigh it out and be sure to take the prevacid along with.  I made it a point to not take it on an empty stomach.  Hope the shot helps, which by the way, years ago, when I had ulcers, my doctor told me I could not do Cortisone shots because they are hard on the stomach.

All is well here and I am at work, so I'd best get to doing some.. .

Wishing everyone well and special thoughts and prayers go out to any and all facing the more challenging aspects of life.

Hugs, Laureen

Good morning Vickie and everyone.....

They say third time is a charm....I lost the last two posts!!

Vickie...I hope your shoulder feels better soon. I had my shot last Tuesday and by Friday it was feeling great! I know nothing about baby aspirin. My doctor has them in my file as an allergy so no one gives them to me. Hope you feel more up to sewing your curtains soon!!

Jo...I haven't sewn in years. I never did sew denim. Hope the jacket turns out great!

I can't remember who else posted....sorry...my mind is wondering today!!

I am going to stay at Carrie and Greg's until Sunday or Monday. They know I hate going home. They will be out of town Saturday and part of Sunday. I will stay here with Bella...the big old loveable german shepard!! Carrie and Greg know how much I hate to go home. This is a win win for all of us. I will probably pick Kyleigh up tomorrow. She knows I am here and wants to see me. Carrie will be highlighting and trimming my hair tomorrow evening...YAY!

Wishing you all a beautiful day!! Prayers for many in need!!

Love and hugs to all...connie d

Afternoon OFF family...its a chilly day here and so far the sun is still out...calling for rain (maybe) this afternoon here. I hope not!! So sick of cold and rain...but a far cry from what michigan has been getting!!! If you are my friend on FB I posted some photos of michigan and the flooding there...OMG!!!!!!!! Also posted a couple pictures of me, Rick and Bandit if you are interested in seeing them. :-)

I am having a terrible time trying to do this paperwork...probably making a mountain out of a mole hill...but I am scared to death that I am doing it all wrong!! Sighs. I came home early just to get away from it this morning. I can't go any further than I am at right now. So I guess I am done. ?? Just at the point right now that I want to sit in a dark room all by myself and cry...that is how scared I am of this paperwork. Silly huh?

Well my other "new" tenant that was supposed to be moving in friday called once again to say he changed his mind...GRRR this is twice now. He keeps going back to his girlfriend. Said if it happens a third time...yeah right.

Well guess I did enough complaining today so guess I better take Bandit out for potty walk. Looks like the sky is clouding up. Great.

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

HUGSSSSSSSSS

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

Vickie, I once had a doctor tell me I could take Celebrex for tendinitis. I asked my bariatric doc first before I did it. He told me I could do it if I took Prevacid or Nexium or Prilosec (an acid blocker, in other words). I was already taking one ... have been since after my surgery, because I've had reflux since then, even on liquids. Anyway, the Celebrex didn't help me at all and it was damn expensive, so I only took it for a month. But try the baby aspirin and see if it helps. It's a mini anti-inflammatory, so it's not that big of a deal. My chiro has me trying turmeric (in capsule form) for pain and inflammation. I've been doing it for a month now and haven't notice any change. I don't think any of these natural remedies help me. But I try them for awhile. Maybe it'll help you.

Didn't do too much yesterday but did get the Easter decorations down, so it wasn't a total waste of a day. And I tracked down the mess of my health savings account ... it was a computer glitch and affected everyone. The money is back in there now. Just a little annoying that it affected me when I was trying to buy things.

Well, back to work tonight. Fortunately, not working sports tonight on NFL draft night.

Have a good day.

Aloha Vickie.....so sorry you are having such severe shoulder pain! I flashed back a few years to when I experienced the same thing. I could not lift my arm up to brush my hair even!! My doc gave me a Cortisone shot and it took away the pain for a good year. Pain then returned, and she repeated the cortisone shot, and I haven't had shoulder pain for several years now.....knock on wood! I hope your treatment works as well as mine did.

Beautiful warm day on Maui........all my windows are open and the breeze feels wonderful. We are seeing only a few whales now because most have had their babies and are on their way back to Alaska. We miss them when they leave for the summer.

I'm in traveling mode....getting ready to go to Santa Cruz to see my son, Mark, DIL, Shelley, and my three little munchkins, Brock, Brady and Zane. I'm not looking forward to the airport day, but sure can't wait to see my family. My kids are not going on a trip this time, so everyone will be there, and I won't be babysitting alone this time....yeehaw! Three little boys are a handful for this "tutu!" I'll be gone about 10 days which is just fine.

OK, friends, it's time for me to get out suitcase and begin trying to not OVERPACK!! I always take more than I need, and often end up wearing one of my son's big warm jackets because I'm always cold there. Have to wear shoes, too......which I haven't done in a year at least!! I only wear slippers "flip flops" here, even at work.

Hope you all have a great day.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

So good to see some many back here posting.

The weather today here in MI was wild, rain, snow, hail and in between sunshine and 40's.  Now if the rain/snow would just stop, enough is enough.  I have to wade out to the vehicles and all my shoes are muddy and I'm in the high lands.

We have a nice pound and creek were there never was before.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
