Well Its Tues
Good morning all,
I have hesitated posting this but sine I wrote on Facebook, I'll fill you in.
When the doctor did CAT scan for my ruptured spleen they found a suspicious spot. Since that time I have had PET scans, MRI, biopsies and all sorts of tests. I have cancer in my right lung as well as in a lymph node. There is a spot in my pelvis and that one HURTS when I sit or lay down. Tom says "only MY wife gets cancer of the ass"
This morning the surgeon inserted a chemo port. Tomorrow is my first chemo session and it will be eight hours long. Tom is right by my side for it all.
I have to eat at least 2,400 nutritious calories a day to try and keep some weight on. I quit weighing when the scale said 110 lbs. It is so hard to get that much food in but my life depends on it.
That's it. I am ready to take a nap. I was so nervous about the port that I didn't sleep well.
Take care
Annette
Annette, I am sorry to hear the diagnosis, but I believe you can beat the cancer. Humor is such a good weapon, and you have that in spades, my dear! Also, just remember when you are trying to get your 2400 cals a day in, that cancer is a sugar-feeder, so don't eat sweets, okay? Ask your doctor for nutritional information. When Butch had bladder cancer, the doctor said that Vit A was very helpful in preventing a reoccurrence. I made sure his diet was full of Vit A rich foods, and it's never come back.
Praying for you, sista! Vic
Annette, how did I miss this on FB? So sorry to hear about your cancer. You can fight this, just as others have. You have so much strength and perserverance. And you have Tom and the kitties, and they'll give you help, too. You're in my thoughts, and I'll be swinging the chickens for you. Get in those calories so you stay healthy.
Annette....your wonderful positive attitude will help you get through the cancer treatments. I agree...if a sense of humor counts you are way ahead of things already!!
I haven't been on Facebook to see your post yet....I will check it out.
Know that I keep you in my thoughts and prayers every day!
Love you so much....hugs.....connie d

Hi Carla and my OFF family:
That's nice you can help your friend out, Carla. Plus also help out your daughter. Hope she can keep her blood pressure under control. That's important.
Vickie, hope you can keep Butch at home and not wanting to go back to work. After knee surgery and now a bunion surgery, I would think he'd want to stay put for a while.
This is my weekend and right now I'm not doing much. I have a load of wash in the washer. I might go shopping later ... need food since I'm not doing that diet, plus some other essentials like bleacher and coffee filters and napkins. I'm still sitting in my jammies. It's gloomy out and I think we're going to get some rain.
Well, have a good day. I have plans to relax and veg and maybe do a little cleaning (ha!)
