Good Morning -- It's Wednesday (already)!

Hi, All.  I'm up early having my protein drink.  It's dark out and the house is quiet.

Not sure what's on the agenda for today.  Hubby has an acupuncture treatment at noon.  After that, we may take a drive to the valley to go to Costco and pick up some much needed supplies.  It's an hour and a half drive each way so it takes a commitment to get there.

I can so relate to Vickie's post about chocolate.  I am definitely a carb addict -- especially sweets.  I don't dump either, Connie.  I wish I did as maybe that would deter me from eating the things that derail me from a healthy life.

Hope you all have a good day.

Good morning Cindy and everyone.....

Cindy..... I just had a protein drink as well. I hope your hubby has good results with his acupuncture treatment. I have never been to a Costco as there aren't any close to where I live. I heard they are great. Enjoy your day!!

As for me... I am having insomnia. I went to bed and slept about two hours and have been awake since. I was warned that this may happen. A side effect from an injection I had at the pain clinic. I was there for 3.5 hours. I was exhausted. Of course the pain I am dealing with after all that is horrible. My Vicodin and Flexeril are barely taking off the edge. I go in again for a nerve block for my back in a couple weeks. Then they will  do what they can for my neck. I found out I have degenerate disk disease. Both in my lower back and cervical/neck areas. So much worse then I ever imagined. No wonder I hurt so bad. He said this too is causing my Fibromyalgia flare ups. He said I have osteoarthritis...that I knew about..... I also have osteoporosis and a few other things going on. It is going to take time to get this all taken care of. I am going to Iowa on Saturday as Tuesday is Nic's birthday!! I will stay a few days longer as well. Guess I will try to sleep again if I can. I will check back later. You are all just the greatest!!

Have a beautiful day!! Prayers for many ....lots of special requests as well.

Love and many hugs to all.....connie d

Good morning All.

Cindy - I love chocolate too and passed that "gene" to both daughters & granddaughters.

I went for an MRI yesterday got myself in an emotional upheaval before it even began. finally took a double dose of Ativan, kept my eyes closed going into the tube and managed to hold still. After that I sure felt no urge to cook dinner. Good thing Tom can and will cook.

The sun is out so I decided to take the dogs for a few laps around the yard. Oh the soggy lawn!!! We didn't go a few laps, not even one. They don't mind the glop but I do.

I bought another pair of Keds to decorate for Melanie. This time it will be butterflies, lady bugs and flowers. Now to think of a little gift for Matthew. They are only 18 months apart so I don't give to one and not the other. The girl Grands are so much easier than the boys.

Annette-

I can relate to the tizzy of an MRI.  I have to have a double dose to get into the machine and even then someone has to hold onto my foot to make sure I'm alive.

Good morning Cindy P and all my OFF sistas!

Up this morning and determined to "be good" today!  Sorry for my rant about chocolate late last night.  I was just feeling so guilty.  Sometimes I think I still cycle through PMS.  My appetite for sweets was always uncontrollable then.

I think it was Karen who posted that going into the grocery store was like throwing a recovering alcoholic into a liquor store.  That is so true!  For a long time after my WLS, I just had to completely avoid certain aisles in the store, especially candy and cookie aisles--for my own sanity if nothing else.  Whatever you want to call it--addiction, lack of self control, cravings--it's very real!

I think I am going to have to start avoiding FB. Seems like everyday there are dozens of posts about gooey, luscious chocolatey desserts! When did this start? People "pin" and "post" all these pictures of desserts all day long. I saw one this morning that called for strawberries, dry cake mix, and sprite--and get this. Because of the fruit, it said it was Weigh****cher friendly! REALLY? People are fooling themselves with that one! The fence guys are here.  Hurray!  Butch is working on building the gates today.  I guess I'll get out there and work on scooping up more leaves and wheeling them over to the burn pile.  I don't have Benny to deal with this morning (school day!), and it's nice and cool out there right now.

Cindy, I've never been to a Costco either, although I know where a couple are in San Antonio.  Do you have to have a membership there, like you do at Sams?

Got our reservations made for 2 nights in Gonzales in another week and a half.  Can't wait!  I need a break, you know?

Always happy to come to OFF and read about all of you and your lives.  Gotta have my daily OFF fix!  LOL!  Love you all!

Vickie:  You do have to have a membership to Costco.  I think it's very similar to Sam's (we don't have Sam's here but I've read about them from others).  Anyway, you have to buy large quantities (like 36 rolls of TP, 12 rolls of paper towels -- that's how they're bundled) but you save money overall.  So, if you have room sto store stuff, it's totally worth it to shop there.  They have good coupons every month (for instance, this month they have the Magic Bullet for $39 which is a $10 savings).  The challenge is not to impulse buy.  I only purchase things on my list and my list represents things we need -- so we feel it's worth the drive and the membership.
