Good Sunday morning!
Hello my OFF family:
I'm getting ready soon to leave the Chicago area and head back to my home. I was going to get up at 8 so I could leave at 9 and meet my friend Paulette for breakfast in the southern Chicago 'burbs, but I got up by myself at 6:30 a.m. coughing and after doing that for a few minutes, gave up and got up, went to the bathroom, then got a cough drop and decided to play on the computer for awhile before getting in the shower. I still have to finish packing, then pack the car before heading out. Although I enjoyed staying with my brother Ed and SIL Margaret, Ed was kind of getting on my nerves. Last night he got testy because of the way I was moving my mouse around ... I guess I made too much noise ... I was banging it around as I moved it. He told me to quit it or go in another room. So eventually, I went to my bedroom and decided to read. I was tired anyway and had done everything I wanted to do on the computer. But really ... I would never say that to a guest. I'm not that fussy. The only thing that matters is I can't stand fragrances or hair spray or smoking, so I ask guests not to use perfumes or spray their hair or smoke in my house. And always put the lid on the toilet down because of the cat. See, I'm easy to get along with. I think maybe Ed might have had a headache.
Anyway, it's now 7 a.m. so maybe I'll check the news and see what's going on in the world, then get in the shower and finish packing. I really want to get home. My body is hurting from sleeping on an air mattress. I want my own bed. I miss Juliette. It will be nice to get home.
As for Mom, we siblings decided last night to keep the live-in caretaker and see if we can get a break by signing a longer-term contract (six months or a year). And we also need to update Mom's will and get a power of attorney for her and a DNR. These were things we discussed yesterday ... things that needed to be discussed. I brought up the POA ... no one else thought of it. She didn't have one authorized and really needs one.
The birthday party yesterday for my grandnephews was fun ... my mom did show up and had a nice time. I think she was glad she came. Her caretaker was with her and had a good time, too. My oldest grandnephew, Ben, turns 13 on April 29 and is 5-8 and 180 pounds. He's huge ... but then he was a 10-pound baby. He's already in size 13 shoes. Sam is 9 and more normal sized. He's a cutie and such a fun guy ... he's our entertainer. Plus he can put together a Lego set so quickly.
Anyway, I need to get off the computer and get going. Have a good day.

Parking area OMG yes flooding!!!!! Got the cars/trucks moved in time!!!! One tnant said NO!!!! He will NOT move his car and do NOT ask him again!!!!!!! OK...don't come crying to me when your car is damaged!!!!!!!! If your insurance doesn't cover it...not MY fault either!!!!!!!!

Good Morning Eileen and Judy and OFF-
Eileen isn't it funny what creatures of habit we become as we get older. Your brother reminds me of my Dad. When watching TV everyone in the room had to be quiet.
Eileen and Judy - Looks like our mothers are about the same age. Mine will be 83 in June. She's living in an senior independent living facility. Fortunately through the years we've worked out the POA, will etc...In fact one of the reasons I'm anxious to hit the road is she's issuing a new will to replace the old one that has 5 amendments.
Eileen - got you message about volunteering to edit for the book. We take all volunteers seriously and we'll take all the help we can get so send me an email at [email protected] and we'll work out the details. We have a volunteer page layout guy who would probably love some moral support he's never done anything of this scale. I can send you a pdf version of the sample book we put together.
Recovery advances. I stayed strapped up yesterday in the corset and the lump seems to be reducing. I was active yesterday. One of the photographers came and got me for lunch with he and his wife yesterday. Then we drove around the refuge while he took pictures. All of these photographers are such characters, I am enjoying meeting them via email. I'll continue to strap myself up until I can talk to the doctor's office on Monday.
Don't know about other parts of the country but the pollen counts here are horrendous. Despite taking Claritan 24 twice a day I am still sneezing and nose is running. Pollen count is high, high, high.
Well, off to the crossword puzzle for the day and watching CBS Sunday Morning my usual Sunday morning ritual. Positive thoughts to all of you in need.

Good morning Eileen ad everyone......
I did post on Jo's thread but I will comment here too.
Eileen .....it sounds like the birthday party was a lot of fun!! Glad your mom is home and able to take care of her own needs.
Judy....sorry you didn't win more at bingo. At least you came out ahead! Have fun shopping! It is snowing so hard here right now. I am just so tired of it all! Sorry you are having flooding issues there. Hope it doesn't get to the apartments.
Cindi...glad you are having so much fun with your bird watchers!!
Love and hugs to all....connie d
