TGIFRIDAY!

Good morning sweet sistas!

Surprised I'm the first one on the board today.  Got the heat kicked on again, but it's supposed to be sunny and warm later today.

Had such a busy day yesterday!  Never underestimate the power of a woman on a mission to clean up a backyard!  This lake lot is not very big and our backyard is the size of a postage stamp, but I'm determined to make it a pleasant area this year.  I think I told y'all we're getting a fence installed next week.  So all this week I've been trying to get the leaves raked up and moved.  Yesterday I moved a TON of leaves.  If each wheelbarrow full weighed 20 lbs., I must have moved 30 of them!  Yeah, do the math!

Today we are going to buy some new sod to lay down.  Not enough to cover the entire yard, but a pretty fair amount.  Butch says it's too shady for grass to grow, but I'm not going to have a yard full of dirt (and mud!) either.  Besides, if I'm willing to do the work, I figure he doesn't get much say in it right now.

I think I found a "fort" for Benny, too!  It's down the road a ways.  Some people are selling it for $100!  Are you kidding me?  You can't touch those things for less than $1000 new.  We're going to look at it today.  If Butch pronounces it structurally sound, I'm buying it.  Benny will love having a backyard to play in and the fort would be just perfect.  Chris is off all weekend.  Hopefully she and I can disassemble (a word?) it and put it back together here.

Lots to do today.  Yes, I'm the energizer bunny.  That's why I had WLS.  I had lost my ability to do things.  I LOVE being able to do projects again.  I will never sacrifice my mobility again.

Love you all!

Good Morning Energizer Vicki and OFF-

It was cool last night here too.  Turned on the electric heaters but the sun is up and the RV is already heating up.

Not much planned for today, still house bound so to speak.  I might get some quilting done today.  I have a quilt to complete for one that is already here.  Then three more to do.  Not sure I'll have them done before the arrivals, but I'll try.

Bruising is not fading fast so apple cider poultices aren't the solution.  Guess I'm going to have to be patient and just deal with bruises.

A friend is asking me to crochet some diaper covers and beanies for her future grandson.  I'll have to check on Ravelry to see if there are some knitting patterns that I could use.  I am not a crochet person.

Vicki-  one suggestion, you might want to hold off on the sod until after the fence is put in that way the workers don't tear up your new sod.  Since Chris is off all weekend maybe you and Butch can get some time alone.  Disassemble next weekend.  Just suggesting.

The rest of OFF sending you all positive vibes.  Hope all is well with you.

Morning, Cindi!  Good to see you post.  Sorry about the bruising.  I know you are anxious to feel "normal" again.  Again, so glad the biopsies all came back normal!  When do you think you'll start your migration north?

Chris has every other weekend off.  We are planning a get-away in two weeks.  Right now I have too much to do to get ready for all these workers coming next week.  Don't worry--I won't lay any sod where the new fence will go.  But I want to get as much of it down as I can now before I have to mess with hauling it through gates and such.  Right now, I can just back the trailer into the backyard and not have to move the sod bricks a great distance to lay them.

Same with the fort.  Much easier to move it this weekend BEFORE the fence goes in!

Love that you're quilting again.  Too bad about the diaper covers.  I have a ton of crochet patterns!  But I know you'll make something very sweet and pretty with your knitting.  You're so good at that!

Take good care of yourself, sweetie!

Looking at starting the trip around the 25th.  I have to clean out my office at the HQ so afternoon checkup next week with doctor I'll try to do some 1/2 days.  Just going to take my time.  I know I'm going to be on lifting restrictions for a while so that will slow things down considerably.  I have plastic totes to put in the car for loading into but it's going to take some cleaning out first so we'll see.  Maybe this weekend I'll bat my eyelashes at the menfolk and get them to help me unload the heavy stuff that can get wet.

Anyway, slow and easy is the best and I'll have to force myself to do it.  Anxious to get to my Mom's to deal with her vision issues.  Don't care when I get to Maine other than I have friends coming to visit at the end of May.

Keep thinking of me so that I heal well.  I could easily screw this up with impatience.

Hi Vickie and Cindi and the rest of my OFF family:

Vickie, you are busy; couldn't do anything outside because of all the rain. It rained all day yesterday and it was miserable. But I had a wonderful birthday with my family. In the afternoon, went to lunch with my brother Gary after visiting with my mom for awhile. Then we went shopping at Target for awhile so he could buy a birthday present for our grandnephew Sam. He found what he was looking for quickly and then we just browsed through the store.

Then I went to dinner later with my two brothers, my SIL and my friend Linda. We went to Red Lobster and had a wonderful meal ... the waitress was just great. She gave us extra biscuits to bring home to my mom (who wouldn't come along ... she's embarrassed about how she eats now because she won't use her arm). Then we went back to my mom's and talked for awhile. It was a very nice day. My brother Gary gave me two DVDs: "Lincoln" and "Les Miserables" ... haven't seen Les Miz yet but am looking forward to it. No other presents other than the dinner last night that my brother Ed bought (he paid for everyone, including my friend Linda).

Anyway, not much planned today until tonight. I will be going to dinner tonight with high school classmates, some of whom I remember, some of whom I don't ... but we are reconnecting through Facebook and I hope it will be fun.

Have a good day.

Good morning Vickie and Cindi and everyone...

I am just doing a quick check in this morning. I am feeling very sick. It started during the night. Won't be going anywhere as the bathroom will be my friend today...yuck!

Wishing everyone a wonderful day. I know Vickie and Cindi will be very busy...you two are amazing!! I am too much of a foofoo girl to think about getting my hands dirty. No outside work for me other then riding a lawn mower!

Prayers for those in need....special prayers as well.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Hi, Vickie.  How far are you from Seymour, TX?  My hubby is going on a hog hunt there w/ friends mid-May and I was telling him about the drought you've been experiencing where you are.  Seymour is in NE TX -- I know that much.  Of course, he's hoping for good hunting conditions.  We live on the coast in Oregon and had a drier than normal winter but still lots of rain.

Hi Cindy!  I'm afraid I don't know where Seymour is, but if it's in NE TX, then it's several hundred miles away.  Texas is a very big state.  But there are lots and lots of hogs everywhere here.  They are such a nuisance!  I hope he has good luck with his hunt!
