Hello my OFF family:
Getting on after midnight ... I made it to my oldest brother and SIL's house in the northern Chicago burbs about 5 p.m. Got up later than I wanted and had a headache, then drove through some bad weather where I had to stop because it was raining/hailing so much I couldn't see. But I made it safely and I'm nice and cozy in Margaret's mom's old "apartment" in the house ... although all the furniture is gone because Margaret's mom moved into the retirement village. So they put up an aerobed that is raised higher and a little lamp on an end table ... I have my own bathroom and walkin shower. Nice!
My other brother Gary stopped by on his way home from work (he's about 5 minutes from here) and we talked awhile; we are all going to get together for dinner tomorrow for my birthday ...the big 5-8! I kidded my brother that he was older than me ... they all are. Gary and I might go to a movie or do something else, too. We'll see.
Anyway, I read everyone's posts from yesterday. Hope everyone has a good day today.
Good Morning OFF Ladies!
Eileen sounds like you had quite a trip! We are supposed to get that weather here this afternoon/evening. I am hoping I get home before it hits as my dog goes nuts when there is thunder and lightening.
I am off this morning for a day of testing 1st graders! I am hoping I can get at least 3 tested today and more tomorrow (I have 6 total at this school). Monday I move on to another school! It's funny how some schools are very welcoming and others think you are coming in to spy??? It never bothered me to have someone in my classroom.
We had a three hour appointment with the nutritionist yesterday, our first, and WOW do I have a lot of reading to do. She gave us a checklist of things we should be "practicing" now" to get ready for after surgery. Things like smaller bites, no straws, walking, not sure I need practice walking but you never know I guess??? Anyway, We meet with her again May 13th breifly, AND the surgeon . Psychologist June 25th and we are ready to submit. She seemed to think yesterday that we could be looking at late July, early August!
Well, I need to get my umpteen totes ready to go this morning and head out. Will check in later and let you know how things went!

Geez, this weather is weird. We had spring in February here. Now that it's April, it's cold. Go figure! 2nd morning in a row that I've had to kick the heat on.
Didn't get a lot accomplished yesterday, so today I need to look lively. Much to do today in town, so I need to get Butch and Benny up and going here in a minute. At least the sun is shining today. I always accomplish more on a sunny day than on a rainy day.
Have quite a bit of work scheduled here for next week. We are finally getting our back yard fenced next week. Hurray! All these dogs in the house are driving me bats. I'll finally be able to turn them out in the yard for at least part of the time. And I've got a fellow coming to clean the outside of my windows next week, too. Double hurray! I swear to you all, I don't think these windows have EVER been cleaned on the outside. And since this house is on a hillside, I don't think I can reach over half of them. Need a professional to do those. I'll be happy to finally have clean windows here!
I hope to return to my curtain making soon, but it won't be today. Debbie, I'm enjoying your quilting tales. I've only made a couple of baby quilts, although I did take a quilting course in Austin once long, long ago. And several years ago, I bought the fabric to make a king sized quilt. I still have the pieces! I cut them all out and made a start on piecing them, but that's as far as I got. Maybe one day . . .
Making plans for Carrie's WLS surgery next month. We were both glad to hear from Dr. Ortiz that she can still go forward with her May 14th surgery date, even though she had the appendectomy in March. She is really getting excited about it. I'm so glad we can do this for her. She's going to be a bridesmaid in a friend's wedding in August. She ordered a size 18 dress (instead of size 22), so she's set a goal for herself. That's good motivation for her.
Well, my day's a'wastin'! I'd better get moving. Love you all!

Vickie, slow down, but good news re Dr.Ortiz willing to do surgery in May for your daughter...
And now I can't remember who else posted already...can I blame it on being a senior? Wish we could see all posts in the thread when we reply, not just the first one.

As for me.....yesterday I spent the day in bed and in pain. I woke up this morning feeling better. Then I looked outside and saw all the snow!! Then the plows came and I had to clean off the car again and move it!! Now I need to go lay down again...more meds! One of these days we may get sunshine!!!

Had rain here like crazy and the lightning omg!!!!!! Glad the power didn't go out and also we didn't flood!! Our parking lot did flood some but not enough to get into apartments!!! Couldn't use the pc all night due to the light show!!
Hands are killing me so will make this a short post tonight...
Tomorrow mom comes home from rehab...happy she is and so am I!!! Hope she does what she is told!!!

Well I had a scare earlier in the week. I have massive bruising on my belly. Got someone to take me to the surgeon's office to be checked. Apparently Lovonox and baby aspirin do not for bruise reduction make. Only had one dose of Lovonox. Stopped the baby aspirin and now I'm putting apple cider vinegar poultices on the bruises and arnica gel.
Spent the day organizing the computer and getting some electronic stuff done. Cleaned out a small cabinet in the RV. I am about to go stir crazy. Decided to dig out a knitting pattern and start knitting something otherwise I'll be crazy by next week.
Positive thoughts to all of you in need.
