Happy Tuesday

Hi Connie,

Colleen did apologize for being upset with me.  Thing is, I knew about their lunch plans, but didn't see the paint on the kids' outfits till Colleen got home.  Plus, Izzy's sleeves had mucus from Franklin's nose on each of them, from her picking him up.  She does know my health is important.  I had to cancel babysitting for her tomorrow because my ultrasound conflicts with it.  She can't call in sick, because she is substituting for another professor at the community college where she teaches and is trying to get her foot in the door there.  It's all good.  She definitely does not take me for granted when it comes to me babysitting for her.

Thanks for being concerned.

Hugs,

Trish

Good Afternoon OFF Family,

Cindi, hang in there and it will get better. You can do this!

Vickie, there is so much on your plate as usual. Hope all goes well with the new WL surgeon. Sounds like Butch is making good progress and Carrie, too.

Connie, so glad Tony is in your life.  We all need someone in our corner.  It was good to hear you finally got a good night’s sleep.

Debbie, what are your favorite things to sew?  Sounds like your new machine has all sorts of “bells & whistles.”  That’s got to be fun!

Busy getting all the pre-op tests done for upcoming knee surgery.  Youngest grandson, Phillip, has his 8th birthday & 1st Communion right after my surgery.  So I’m trying to get gift buying done now so no one has to do it for me when I won’ be getting around easily.

Off to a “funeral” this afternoon.  Phillip’s hamster, Hope, died yesterday so we are holding her funeral this afternoon.  Bless his heart; Phillip’s taking it hard.  I was told to be sure and wear black and bring to flowers.   I’ll pick Phillip up early from after-school care so we can decorate the box in which  Hope will be buried.  He’s so precious!

Hugs and prayers to all, Sandra

Connie, after the "funeral" he was much better.  Took him out to dinner and he had to tell everyone that Hope had died and that we had just buried her. He's such a sweetie.

Hugs, Sandra

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

A little chilly here ... but not cold ... 48 degrees and sunny. I'm off for the next two days and have not much planned. I don't even have enough laundry to do that. So I'll take down the Easter stuff and just generally relax, watch baseball, etc.

I won the monthly contest for headlines/error-catching, good for a $50 VISA gift card. So the good news keeps coming. This is the second month in a row. I think I'll use it to get my hair cut tomorrow ... I do have to go out to an eye doc's appointment and the chiropractor. So a little bit of a busy day. Today's just a veg day.

Vickie, you have your hands full ... fortunately, your daughter Carrie is the only one who is not whining. And Butch ... PT is tough! Tell him to take his pain meds before PT (I couldn't do it because I had to drive to PT myself, but I always took one when I got home).

Cindi, relax and take a breathe ... you can't do too much before your surgery.

Well, I'm off to do nothing much. Have a good day.

Post Script:  Hi all!  I went to see the new WLS this morning for my annual checkup.  I didn't actually get to see Dr. Patel; instead I saw his PA, James.  But that was okay with me.  James told me all my numbers looked good except for my protein number.  I don't remember what the units are called, but my number was 41 and they like to see it up around 50.  So they ordered a special test for the H. Pylori virus that lives in your stomach.  I was tested for that before my surgery 2 years ago and tested positive.  James said if I have it again, it can screw with your protein intake.  Went by the lab, but it's such an unusual test that they have to order one, and I'll go back tomorrow to take it.

But, and this is confession time again, I weighed 185 on their scales.  Dammit.  That's 10 pounds.  So we talked about exercise, not only for the physical benefits, but also as a stress reducer.  I know I need to exercise.  I know it.  I just haven't been doing it.  And I've been eating too many simple carbs.  If you add 2 + 2, you get 185!  So I am committed to getting this 10 pounds off again.  Back to 175 or bust.

Time for Vickie to take care of Vickie first.  Then I can take care of the others.  Right?  Right.

Still have much left to accomplish today.  I'd better get going.  Love you all!

Vickie...so glad your Dr appointment went well!! I hope they can figure out why your protein levels are low. That is not a good thing. Sending prayers your way for that!!

Good luck with the weight loss....I am way over 10#s higher...Grrrrr!! I better change this around soon.

Love and hugs...connie d

Vickie, glad you liked the PA.  I don't see my WLS anymore, just his 2 PAs.  I love them both.  You said it all, "Time for Vickie to take care of Vickie first."  Just so hard to do sometime.  We should all follow that advise about our families. Oh, well...

I'm up 15 lbs. and worried that it will get worse after surgery.  Maybe it will help that I won't be able to get to frig as  quickly as usual!!!  LOL  I'm encouraged at how well Butch is doing.

Hugs, Sandra
