Happy April Fool's Day!
Hello sistas!
I am HOME again! No, it's not April Fools either. Carrie was released late yesterday afternoon, but by the time I got her back to her house, got her Rx's picked up, and got us settled, we just both fell into bed and SLEPT!
Got up this morning and Carrie said she felt like making the drive to Hilltop, so I brought her home for this week of recuperation. She is doing a little better each day, 'though a long ways from feeling like herself yet. She is resting now.
Karen, I forget sometimes that everyone on the board will not know everything. Forgive me. I have 2 daughters: Carrie is 30 and she is working on her Ph.D. in Chemistry at Baylor University. She is unmarried. Christie is 28 and she has a 2 year old son, Benny. Chris and Benny are living with us right now. My husband's name is Butch and he is finally getting ready to retire. He is 68 and has worked offshore/overseas almost our entire married life of 31 years. I am 55 and "retired" I guess. I quit work at age 51 and I haven't gone back! I worked for 15 years at Stephen F. Austin State University as an academic advisor, specializing in at-risk 1st year students (student who were either 1st generation college students, or students *****quired 1-3 remedial courses in math, reading and writing due to low SAT test scores). I also taught college level English for a few semesters, and I was also a public school teacher (grades 7-12) in English and Language Arts.
Right now I am waiting for Butch to get back from physical therapy. I feel like I haven't seen him in forever. I also feel like I have been beat with an ugly stick. Lord, I am tired! Looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight!
Love you all! Will have to catch up with everyone soon.
Good Evening OFF Family,
I had put together a post earlier, but lost it in my iPhone by accident. I'm now on my laptop, and praying this is coherent.
I saw a doctor at an urgent care center today. I am having bad pain under my right ribs, and he wants an ultrasound. I was supposed to go tomorrow at noon, but can't because Colleen has to work, and I had already committed to watching the kid for her. So, they can't get me in till Friday. Argh. Doc thinks it's my gall bladder. I'm not able to eat much, and my entire digestive system is completely out of whack. I'm absolutely miserable, and have been since Thursday.
I have a ton of cleaning to do, and no motivation to do it.
I watched most of the Tigers game, and intend to watch the entire Phillies game, which is on ESPN2.
Hugs,
Trish
