We drove almost 1000 miles yesterday!!!! We decided to take I-65 all the way to Chucago. Traffic is a *****!!!!!! Wall to wall cars, Suvs, trcks and what ever else moves! And to boot they r rude.......

We finaly found a hotel room at one am!  everything was full cause of Easter and Passiover! I totally forgot about that!

Talk on Im going to sleep! Ill be able to checkmin u guys cause I have my net book and my mifii I could connect the Ipad also!!! Lets just say im hooked up!!!!!!

Good Morning Carla and OFF Family,

Carla, I have only driven a very long distance in one day a few times.  I was younger and healthier.  My best distance alone is the eastern border of PA to the Pittsburgh.  That's about six hours, or 300 miles.  When I have driven all the way between back home and here, I had help with the driving that time.

Today, I'm heading to an early AA meeting.  Then, my church is having a huge community Easter egg hunt.  The congregation donated over 1000 plastic eggs, and candy to put in them.  I was able to donate 12 bags of candy.  Colleen warned me that chocolate melted last year, so I found Smarties, Starburst, and Sweettarts all on sale at Rite Aid a few weeks ago.

I made some crochet hair clips for Isabel's Easter bag.  I posted a pic on Facebook.

Judy, I'm glad your mom's surgery went well.  Hernias are scary stuff.  

Vickie, prayers for your daugter are on their way.

Morning OFF family!!!

Got a call from my brother telling me that they will be moving mom to rehab this morning at 11. He mentioned its her arm that she needs some help on. Guess its still bothering her since surgery. She had her arms up over her head for about 3 hours while dr did the surgery and now it hurts her. She will also be doing breathing exercises to get her breathing built up. I am happy she i going to rehab and not home with that idiot brother just now. He takes care of her but right now she needs MORE help than what he can do for her!!!!

Still didn't sleep good at all last night. seems every hour I was up. I am not sure what to do about it. I took tylenol pm and even that didn't do any good. Tomorrow my medicaid runs out so no more dr visits. Not sure if the dr I see tuesday on my check up will be able to help me or not but I will ask.

Well best get ready to hit the road and see if the bank is open and put the pay checks in. Need to hitthe grocery store also for some food. Need to get a couple hams while on sale for the tenants Easter dinner that we cancled Not sure yet when to have it. Will try for wednesday yet next week. Rent checks are piling up on my desk and the first isn't even here yet....I have a ton of work to get caught up on...might tackle it today not sure...

Carla...driving on 23 yesterday in Michigan was the pits!!! They said one lane ahead...never said WHICH lane was open or closed til you got right there!!!!!!!!! Took us an hour to go 2 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!! And YES!!!!!!! People are RUDE!!!!!!!!!!

Trish have fun on that egg hunt!!!

Need to find time to catch up on the week I missed see what is happening with everyone....Vic I see your daughter had her surgery...CONGRATS!!!! Hope she is doing ok!!!!! Prayers for her!!!

Morning OFF Ladies!!

Looks like everyone is either traveling or has someone in the hospital or both.  Safe Travels and Prayers either way.

Hubby and I  are having a couple that we game with over to play board games this afternoon so I'm fixing a Taco/Nacho Bar to snack on while we play.  My husband got me into playing Dungeons and Dragons a few months ago and I thought I would hate it but it is actually kinda fun!  We have a group we usually play with every other weekend but because of Easter many were doing other things.  If someone had told me 25 years ago that I would be doing this at 56 I would have told them they were nuts!!

Tomorrow will be a quiet day for us.   Early church service at 8:30, then a breakfast after.  Harvey decided that we could just do ham sandwiches and maybe baked beans for lunch.  Made some deviled eggs last night so those might last till tomorrow...lol

 

Well better get off here and get busy. I truly hope everyone has a blessed Easter!

Morning all!

Got a call last night and our friends that were coming up for Easter wanted to know if they could come a day early. Of course we would love to spend more time with them I just need to get cleaning done faster...LOL!!!

Judy, glad your back and your mom is doing better.

Carla, 1000 miles man that's a lot of driving. Grew up in the back seat of a car, my dad took us by car on every vacation. Been across the US 6 times and he made sure we went a different route every time so I can say I've been in every state but Alaska...Spent 5 years in Hawaii. I'm a  Air Force Brat. 

Vickie, hope all is well and Carrie is doing good. Nothing like your mom coming to visit and you have to leave. When Carrie gets better you'll have to give her a bad time over this. LOL!

Hi sistas! We are still in the hospital. Might get to go home tomorrow. No promises yet. Butch and mom are on their way here for a visit this afternoon and to take Carrie's dogs back to hilltop with them. Carrie and I may go to hilltop for a few days of recuperation after she is released -- or maybe not. Too soon to say. The family has decided to postpone our Easter for awhile until we can all be together. I read all the posts. Love you all!

Hi Carla and my OFF family:

Glad I wasn't on the road. Driving for the holidays is the pits. I try to drive on the holiday (when everyone is already where they want to be) or two days ahead. But I'm not going anywhere this year ... or at least not until a couple weeks when I go home for a while. 

Good to see Judy made it home and Judy, good to hear your mom will be in rehab. I know for my mom, she needed more help than my brother could provide (he really couldn't wash her/ wipe her butt for her, etc.), so even after rehab, we had to get 24/7 care in-home. It's expensive and Medicare doesn't pay for it. That's why we sold her car ... cuts out the cost of insurance, her umbrella policy, etc. Saves a lot of money that can be used for her care. 

I'm back at work tonight. The April schedule has me off Tuesday-Wednesday, so I work three days, then I'm off again.

Aloha Carla and OFF friends/sisters....

Carla...you are a road warrier!! You must love to travel. I used to, but not anymore. It has become a major hassle to me these days. I HATE the airport mess, and always seem to come up against a delay of some sort or misconnection, etc. I only travel to go see my grandkids or my son in Oregon. I used to want to travel to Sweden with my brother to visit where my father was born, but now that seems like a dream that won't be coming true. I am going to Santa Cruz in May to see my grandchildren, my son and DIL, my brother, my ex and old friends. I'm looking forward to that, but not the trip there.

It's almost 3:00 in the afternoon here on Maui, and I've been at work this morning screening the newborn babies' hearing at Maui Memorial Hospital. Tomorrow I have a set of twins....one 5 lbs. ,one 4 lbs. So tiny and so adorable. I won't know until I get there how many more little ones are born today.

Right now it is pouring down rain....YEEHAW!! We have seen so little rain lately, and this is so welcome. The pool is bubbly with raindrops, and the ocean is churned up, but I still see whales and turtles enjoying this treat. It's warm and humid but lovely all at the same time.

Going to spend Easter Sunday afternoon with friends........having ham and all the trimmings. I will work in the morning and pig out in the afternoon...Ha.

Good evening everyone....

So sorry I am getting on here so late. We had computer issues. I know nothing about Apple so it took a while to figure it out. I finally called my grandson at his uncles and he helped me out!!

I read every ones posts and will try to reply tomorrow!! Kyleigh and I are doing some laundry tonight. Tomorrow we are doing some light cleaning so everything is in order as my daughter left it. It is just something I like to do. 

"HAPPY EASTER" to everyone if I can't post in the morning!! I will try to get on as soon as I can.
