Tues. morning.........
Hi Karen and my OFF family:
I slept til 11:30 a.m. when the phone rang ... then I was on Skype with my friend Mary Kay in Michigan for awhile. I need to get in the shower and start thinking about getting ready for work. My kitty Juliette is rummaging around on top of the cabinets. She thinks that's her personal gym ... she likes to jump up there and walk around, then sits up there near the window and watches the birds.
I got a nice email from the executive editor last night ... I got a small raise, just 2 percent, but considering nobody has gotten raises here for several years, a raise is a good thing. We had a pool for raises in the newsroom, and it was doled out among people for merit. I got it for my versatility. I knew my boss was happy with me, but he had said he wanted to get the two younger people up to pay level with the rest of us, so I didn't think I'd get anything. I'm grateful for the raise and to have a job.
Well, off to the shower ... Karen, good to see you posting again. I understand the problems of an older cat and the pooping outside the box. Diva did that. She had gastritis, then pancreatitis. Hope your kitty will be OK.
Congratulations on the raise. I know how you feel. I have working in the same position for over 5 years now and have gotten only one raise.....after the first year. They did give me a nice Christmas bonus and I guess in this day and financial situation we are lucky to have jobs at all.
I had a kitty when I lived in Santa Cruz who used to jump to the top of the refrigerator from the counter. He would fly across the kitchen. They are amazing.
