Saturday Happenings-What's Up?

Good Morning OFF Family,

I was up very early this morning.  Couldn't get back to sleep in bed, but did doze in my rocking chair.  I'll be meeting Jo for breakfast in a little while.

I didn't get my laundry done yesterday.  I ended up staying home.  Good thing, because I had to watch the Munchkins for a little while, as my daughter ran to the library to pick up some books for their weekend away.  My grandkids love to be read to.

So, I'll be heading to do laundry, and also run to Petsmart.  Utley's fetch ball rolled down a heating vent, which didn't have a cover over it.  He loves to play fetch, and Petsmart isn't far from the laundromat.

Must scoot.

Hugs and prayers,

Trish

Good morning Trish and my OFF sistas!

I am laughing at your Utley story, Trish.  Gosh, we must have five dozen balls here somewhere!  Heaven only knows where they all disappear to!

I am going to whine for a minute.  I am so disgusted with my stupid shoulder!  I can't do anything anymore without it acting up!  I don't know how many of you sew, but making curtains requires a lot of stretching and moving the fabric around, etc.  You wouldn't think that little bit of activity would blow out my shoulder, but it did!  Grrrr!  I had to take 4 tramadol for it to finally quit aching last night so I could sleep.  I have a doctor's appointment after Easter with the new doctor here, and I'm going to insist on x-rays of my shoulder this time.  Something is definitely wrong with it.  It may be bursitis, like my old doctor at home said, or maybe it's something that can be fixed with surgery.  I need to find out for sure.

Well, enough of that.  I'm sore as the dickens today.  I'm not sure I can sew today or not.  I did get another panel made (for my living room curtains) and I finished all the valances.  I still have 2 more panels to make.  I wanted to finish them before I leave to go pick up Mom tomorrow, but it may not happen.

I do really like my new curtains though.  The fabric is a wonderful colorful stripe.  Very cottage style.  Suits this house to a tee.  With the new blinds, my windows are lookin' good!

Hope we hear from Judy today about her mom.  Connie, I hope you are feeling better, hon.  Eileen, sorry you had to work on your day off!  Bummer.  Ruby, I'm so glad you decided to join in and stop being a lurker!  Karen, I'm glad you joined us, too!  Debbie, how is the sewing coming along?  Carla, be careful traveling this time.  Joe, you should join our daily thread.  And Jo, you'd better be nice!!!  Ha!

(I'm sure I'm forgetting someone.  Please forgive me.)

Love you all!

Morning all!

I've been running around like crazy and all I want is a day to relax!!

Went yesterday and got the material for my quilt, boy there are a lot of materials to chose from. But I'm happy with my choice. Waiting for my sewing machine to get here.

Vickie, I have bursitis in my left shoulder and man when it flares up I can't even lift my arm up. I understand how painful it is.

Trish, love the ball story, like Vickie we have at least 8 balls around here but who knows where they all go!! Well actually  there under the couch and beds I just don't want to get on my hands and knees and fish them out. That's what the kids are for!! Lol!

I hope you all have a great day, thoughts and prayers for all,

Debbie

Oh, Debbie, how did your doctor decide you have bursitis?  Mine just poked around on my shoulder and pronounced "bursitis".  So I'm not real sure of my diagnosis.  And where does it hurt?  Mine hurts most on my right shoulder blade on my back.  Happens whenever I extend my arm, either straight out or up.  This is really the pits.

He just poked around. He also said its in my hip. When it hurts its right in the joint. When you touch it it rally hurts also. Can't walk well and I can't lift up my arm. My mom had it also.

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Trish, Juliette is always losing toys ... all my cats did. When I moved from Michigan, all sorts of toys were found under the couch. Amazing.

Well, I got through work last night, but I left early ... just about a half hour early. I couldn't take it anymore. My head felt like it was in a vise. I was miserable. I thought I was going to throw up. I said I'd rather throw up in my own garbage can than at work. I didn't throw up, but once I got home I was able to take my drugs, put my ice packs on my head and stare off in the distance instead of at the computer under fluorescent lights. So I was able to feel better. It just took awhile. The work atmosphere didn't help ... and it didn't help that right around deadline, the system crashed and wouldn't allow us to save anything. Typical problem. I think they decide to work on it right on deadline. It's infuriating.

Vickie, sorry your shoulder is hurting you again. Since I still have problems with my right knee after two replacement surgeries, I can understand.

Well, I should get in the shower and get ready for work. I'm not in the mood but at least I don't feel sick like I did yesterday ... just the usual aches and pains.

Connie, my chiro told me tumeric pills help with fibro pain. I ordered some from puritanpridevitamins.com (I think that's the link) ... will let you know if it actually helps.

Trish, I didn't get laundry done either yesterday because I had to work ... so it will have to wait until next week when I have off. The April schedule has me off Tuesday and Wednesday, so after being off Thursday-Friday, I'll work Saturday, Sunday and Monday, then have two days off again ... plus, then I'll have my week of vacation.

Anyway, have a good day.

Good Afternoon Trish and OFF-

Well, I led my last bird walk of the season this morning.  Had a boy scout and his Mom on the walk for the second time.  Not too many birds but I enjoyed myself with this young man.  He is very smart and very observant.  We had a pileated woodpecker (woody the woodpecker for those of you *****member the cartoon).  Also had some wood ducks and a cardinal.  Extremely humid and calm today.  They say we might get rain which I hope we do cuz this area is drying up fast.

Vickie-  Glad you're getting your shoulder looked at.  Bursitis is awful!  I have it in my shoulder, hips and feet.  And since I'm a quilter I can relate to your frustration about pain while sewing.  Girlfriend, you have to slow down a bit and try not to get everything done at once.  Next time PT comes for Butch ask them if they can give you some exercise or suggestions for your shoulder.  I have to use ice and moist heat.  I've found an organic antinflamatory that is ginger based.  It's called Zyflamend.

I laughed at the ball story Trish as I have several dozen toy mice strewn throughout my RV.  The other day I was looking for something under the chair and found three of them but not what I was looking for.

My tooth extraction is mending.  The stitches are starting to pull and aggravate.  I go back Wednesday to get the stitches out.  No problems with the post that they installed.

My hysterectomy is scheduled for April 3.  I have to do a bowel prep for the surgery which doesn't thrill me but I'll soldier through.  I'm getting things in order within the RV so I don't have to worry about things during recovery.  I basically have this week to take care of things.  I'm heading to Victoria Texas to spend Easter with friends, then back to the Refuge for the surgery prep.

Yesterday the president of the Friends group and I visited local hotels begging.  We were asking them to donate one weekend a month to our photographers who are working on the book.  We got two hotels to donate.  One other is thinking about it.  One wanted exclusivity but he's not getting it.  Anyway, we'll be able to offer some of the out of town photographers a place to sleep to they can catch the "light".  It's all about the light is what I'm learning from this cadre of 15 volunteers.

Well, that's all for today.  I'm determined to finish hand quilting a baby quilt so I can deliver to his grandfather next weekend.  The child will be a year old in July.  I've still got four more to make but they'll have to wait unless I'm bored with recovery.

Positive thoughts to all of you in need.  Eileen I hope your headache improves and that you don't have to work again tonight.  Connie hope your recovery continues.  For those of you in the snowy country sorry you're having so much.
