Good Mornng OFF Sisters

I'm still trying to wake up here, and can't seem to.  I'm up early, because I've got to g watch the boys for Colleen for about an hour.  She teaches a reading group in Isabel's classroom on Thursday mornings.  I get to play with my grandsons for a little while.

Later on, I must brush Utley as he has clumps of hair coming off him.  Then, I have to vacuum.  Brushing him creates such a mess.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Good morning Trish and all my OFF sistas!

Trish, you should get a Roomba!  I let it run every morning and I am amazed at the amount of dog hair it picks up!

My poor darling husband had a rough night last night.  He tried to do too much yesterday and he paid for it last night.  He took himself off on a walk around the block WITHOUT TELLING ANYONE yesterday afternoon.  I would have gone with him had I known he was going.  Then PT came and gave him quite a workout.  It was too much.  He was in pain the rest of the night.

But, on the bright side, he has already given up the walker, at least inside the house.  So he is making good progress.  He just needs to be a little more patient with his recovery time.

Had an up and down night last night.  Benny fell out of his little bed at midnight and I had to go get him and comfort him awhile.  Back to sleep.  Then Patty Kate leaped out of bed at 3:30 a.m. just begging to go outside.  I had to get up and let her out to go potty.  Such is life with babies and furbabies, huh?

Never did get to my sewing yesterday.  I am determined to make a start on it today!  I did get Carrie's and my airplane tickets booked for San Diego in May.  Also paid the deposit to the clinic to hold her surgery date.  Today I need to make sure Carrie completes her passport application and fills out her info packet for the clinic.  I know she's 30 and should do these things on her own, but I just always feel compelled to make that follow up phone call.

(You know when I was 30, I had two babies, a husband who worked overseas, and I handled all of that without any reminder phone calls from my mom.  I just wonder why young folks these days are so slow to "take holt" of responsibility?)

Another beautiful warm sunny day here in the hill country.  My flowers are really starting to burst out.  I miss having flower beds here.  But with the deer, all I can do is a little container gardening on the front deck.  And even then, one day last year I had a little deer leap the gate and start munching on my impatiens on the deck!  They think it's a salad bar just for them!

Got to get dressed now and get ready for the visiting nurse to arrive.  Prayers for Judy's mom today.  Love you all!

Good Morning Trish and Vickie as well as OFF to come-

Well I have one less tooth today.  I went and had the offending tooth pulled yesterday.  Bit the bullet and had them put the post in for a replacement, that will be the summer project.

I have my surgery date scheduled.  I'll have the hysterectomy on April 3.  Doc says I'll be in one night and then home.  Gotta line up everything in the RV before going in so I don't have anything to do when I get home.  Have to do a bowel prep and clear liquids before surgery.  Not looking forward to that.  Suspect that I'm going to need stool softeners for after surgery.  Have to call the nurse today with my questions.  Planning on typing everything up in large type and mailing it to my Mom so she'll be able to read it.

Not much else is new.  Spent most of yesterday sleeping with the pain meds.  Today I'm going to run a few errands and rest some more.  Have a Book Team meeting tonight.  Tomorrow the President of the Friends Group and I are going to beg the local hotels to donate one weekend a month to the book project so that the photographers that live so far out of town can stay in a hotel.  I'm learning that it's all about the light.  Saturday I lead my last bird walk for the year.  Sunday I have to meet with the participants of the first yellow rail walks to get photo releases signed.  Monday we have 280 school kids coming to the refuge for a field trip!  Tuesday I'll breath again.  Just feel like I'm on a whirlwind.

Positive thoughts going to Judy.  Know how is it to have a parent in another location.  Judy, if I were you, I'd just go to relieve your mind.  I find that my Mom will not ask me to come but secretly she wants me to come.

Vickie-  Tell Butch to be a bit more patient.  He can't go too fast or he'll destroy all his hard work.

Well, that's all ladies.  One questions, are there any clear pure protein products out there that I can use for my surgery prep.  I seem to remember some people talk about protein shots but don't remember the name.

Cindi,

When I was post-op, and on clear liquids for two weeks, I drank Isopure protein drinks.  They make them in different flavors.  They come in glass bottles, and have 40 grams of protein per bottle.  I only liked the grape one.  It tasted similar to grape Kool-Aid.  It also has no sugar.  I bought them online, I think from GNC.  I also bought some at GNC.

Good luck with the surgery.

Hugs,

Trish

Well hubby and I both got our blood work done this morning, got that out of the way.  We went to lunch and I came home, started cleaning out one of the kitchen cabinets and started feeling funny.  Checked my blood sugar, it was 49! YIKES!  Trying to recover from that and checkingg every 15 minutes... can't hardly keep my eyes open.  Think this will get me out of cleaning the rest of the day??lol

Morning or Afternoon where ever you live!!

Did a bunch of errands yesterday and boy am I tired.

Vickie, does the roomba work on carpet or is it best on hardwood? With 3 dogs and 3 cats my hardwood floors could use something.

Has any one heard from Judy? I pray her mom is okay.

Hope you all have a great day, thoughts and prayers for all

Debbie

Debbie,

I read some reviews before I bought the roomba.  They all pretty much said that it was excellent on hardwood and just so-so on carpet.  Well, as you know, we put down all hard laminate throughout the house.  It is terrific!  Runs about 3 hours on a single charge.  I just turn it on every morning and let it run the whole house.  The first few days, I had to empty the bin over and over because of all the construction dust, but now--doing it daily--I only have to empty it once during the 3 hours and then again at the end.  Pretty nice! Does a good job along the baseboards and goes under the beds, etc., chasing the dust bunnies!  LOL!  I am really pleased.

Good morning/afternoon Trish and everyone....

Just a quick check in. I couldn't sleep last night and was still awake a 7:30AM. I finally fell asleep shortly there after. I woke up at 12:00PM. I had/have a lot on my mind. More sister issues. It just never ends. I don't even want to talk about it. Thank God for my best friend Pam!!!

I pray all is well with Judy and her mom. That is such a hard spot to be in!

I love you all but am too tired and upset to post to everyone. Just know I care and am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.

Have a good day!! Prayers for many in need and some special ones as well!

Much love and many hugs to all....connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

It's my weekend, and I'm vegging for now, watching basketball, drinking coffee. But I have a dental appointment soon, so I have to take my premed (antibiotics, because of my two replacement knees) soon, then get in the shower. Then off to the dentist. Not much else planned after that. Just relaxing around the house, watching basketball for two days ... heaven! The only thing better would be baseball for two days.

Vickie, tell Butch not to overdo it. Of course, you can tell him that, but he'll do what he wants. Sounds like my stubborn dad. I overdid it once on my second knee replacement (the revision) on my right knee ... basically, I had a doctor's appointment that ran into a two-hour sitting with the knee bent, then my driver and I went to lunch, then we went shopping, then home and then PT. I was in pain when I got home and had to immediately take my pain meds. The therapist was easy on me, but still ... I was taking pain meds a lot that night. I feel pain very deeply because of the fibro. It was a very tough night. That right knee is still touchy and painful. It's good to exercise but you don't want to do too much too soon.

Anyway, it's chilly here today ... 32 degrees ... but sunny at least. I need to get that antibiotic in me. So have a nice day everyone.
