Cccold Wednesday Morning from michigan.
Good Morning Off friends.
Ok Its spring! Wheres the warm? The soft sweet breezes those sweet smells only around in spring?
Its not even gonna reach above freezing today!!!! Those poor little southern birdies are gonna frost their little tushies off! The poor little things will lose their cute little tail feathers!
Its spring already I am supposed to be able to wear sandels and short sleeves today!!
Don't I sound like a whinny brat? and I have had a much easier winter than many of you folk!
Prayers to all of my friends here. Hope you all have a warm sunny day in your hearts if not outside.
Good morning Jo and OFF sistas!
Okay, Jo, in the interest of self-preservation (and to ward off malicious hexes!) I won't mention how warm it is here today! Nor will I mention that I am wearing shorts and sandals again today.
So, I posted this last night, but I'll post again this morning. My daughter is going to have gastric sleeve surgery in May with Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana. This is Grammylew's (aka Carolyn) doctor. I am so excited for her. She is a beautiful young woman, but the pressures of long hours in grad school, along with the easy accessibility of fast food, have really made for a bad combination for her. She was already heavy, but the last 3 years she has just piled on the pounds. I have talked to her already about the lifestyle changes she will have to make in order for the surgery to be a success and I think she understands. Her surgery date is May 14th. She and I will fly to San Diego on the 13th and return to San Antonio on the 17th. Please add her to your prayer list!
In the meantime, I am still trying to deal with the myriad responsibilities around here. Dealing with Butch's recovery, Benny's 2 y/o trantrums, and Christie's ever-present attitude is quite a challenge! Today, in addition to having the PT guy come to the house, I'm waiting for the cable guy to show up, too. I went last weekend and bought a small TV for our bedroom and for some reason the cable connection in the bedroom isn't functioning! Grrrr. Gonna cost me $27 for them to come and turn it on. Is that stupid or what?
Then on Sunday I am going to drive to Nacogdoches and pick up my mom. She'll be staying the next 2 weeks with us. Since it's a 6 hour drive, I'll go to Nac on Sunday and she and I will return on Monday. (Chris will be here with Butch while I'm gone.) But I'm happy to have her come for a visit. I'm hoping that she and I can drive around New Braunfels and check out some senior living places. I really want her to move here with us. Please pray that I'll have some luck with that!
I still plan to make a stab at sewing some new curtains. It's not like I'm doing anything hard or complicated with them. Maybe I can get started on them today.
So busy life! But that's a good thing. Keeps me out of trouble! LOL!
Love you all!
Good Morning Jo and Friends,
I was up and out the door early, to watch the boys for Colleen. She was supposed to help at Isabel's school for picture day, but when she got there, they didn't need her. So, I went and faxed something, and came home for a little while. Now, I'm waiting for Colleen to pick me up to go to Hobby Lobby. I need two crochet hooks, size F and G. Colleen is getting shapes for Fuze Beads, which the kids love to work on.
Later, I'll be heading to the library. I ordered some books through the inter-library loan system, and some are in.
I have to admit, I never expected the first day of Spring to be so frigid. I can't believe how cold it was this morning. Just plain wicked.
Must scoot.
Hugs,
Trish

Good morning/afternoon Jo and everyone....
Jo....I agree...I am so damn tired of being cold and achy...will this ever end!! I just checked and the temp is 13 but with the windchill it is -5. If you are a whinny brat we all are in these cold states we live in!!
Vickie...thanks for not telling us how warm you are...LOL!!! Hope you get to work on your curtains today. I know you are anxious to get them done. It will be nice to have your mom around for a while. I hope you can find her a nice cozy place to live near by. It would be great if Christine and her attitude could find a place too. She doesn't realize how great she has it!! Hope Butch feels better every day! I continue to keep you and your family in my prayers.
Trish...have a fun time at the hobby shop. They are always so fun to go too and just look around at everything. Hope you find what you need.
As for me...not doing much...mostly reading. It has just been way to cold to be outside. I think I am going to drag out a puzzle and work on that today. I have such an exciting life!
Wishing you all a great day!! Prayers for many in need....some special requests as well.
Love and hugs to all...connie d
Hi Jo and my OFF family:
Not quite as cold here in SW Indiana ... 36 degrees and no snow.
I got to work last night and our system was down. I was sitting there for an hour unable to work. So frustrating. But the rest of the night went OK. I was so tired last night. I didn't sleep all that well for part of the night but from about 7 a.m. on, I slept rather deeply ... lots of dreams.
Anyway, today is my Friday and I'm looking forward to two days of watching basketball. I have a dentist appointment tomorrow ... dentist says he thinks I have a cavity under my crown. Didn't think that could happen, but I guess it does. He thinks he can clean it out and fill it without removing the crown. We'll see if that works.
So I'm off to the showers and then lunch. Have a good day.
Greetings Ladies!
Well, I have to rant for a moment! I have been on jury duty for a year now and have another year to go, two days a month but it totally screws up my whole week when I have it. So I just finished up for the month this afternoon. Now I have to be the ONLY person I know who can SIT for TWO days and get a blister the size of a quarter on the ball of my foot Grrrrrrr!! OK Done with that!
Tomorrow morning up and out EARLY for blood work for the surgeon, then a quick breakfast with hubby and errands. Tutoring from 1-4:30. I love working one-on-one with special needs kids. They are just a joy!
Other than that, Monday morning we see the cardiologist and that will be done. The dietician and psychologist and I think we may be ready to go! Unfortunately we can't get in with the psychologist until June 25th. Grrrrr again! Well at least things have gone smoothly so far. Have lost 4 pounds the first week of the supervised WL and plugging right along. Hope you all have a great evening, I'm off to relax an watch a little TV. Take Care! Karen
