Aloha and good morning OFF family and especially to the newcomers. I am an old timer (almost 7 years since WLS...beginning weight 335, today's weight 145) who still reads the posts every day, but doesn't share often enough. This group always inspires me though and I love hearing about the daily sucesses from all of you.

It is early in Hawaii.....5:42 a.m.........still dark outside, but I'm up, showered and ready to leave for the hospital to meet/greet/test the new babies born yesterday. I know I have a set of twins, one weighing less than 5 lbs, the other just over 6. Yesterday I had nine babies! It is a sweet way to begin the day.

Maui's waters are full of humpback whales this time of year. They have had their babies, and are getting ready for the long trip back to Alaskan waters. It's a joy to see the new baby whales trying to breach and mostly flopping around and making splashes. Mama is always nearby and occasionally will come up under baby and throw him in the air! Funny.

OK..I had better get going. Just had to pop in and say Hi and apologize for not posting more often. I feel like I know some of you so well, and am always hoping for good tests results, good family situations, great happiness, and peace and love in your lives.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Hi everyone from Ottawa, Canada.....it's the quiet before the storm here, literally. We are bracing for what I hope will be our last big one of the winter, scheduled to come in tonight and probably dumping close to 12" before it's done with us, with lingering snow still falling in smaller amounts through to Thursday.

Have to get going and do errands today , have to work tomorrow unfortunately heading out by car in the early morning, not looking forward to that in all that snow expected to be coming down and near whiteout conditions. Wednesday I stay home just when snow starts tapering off....

Yesterday visited a friend in her home, she is terminally ill with cancer...she was not having a good day, her husband who is her nurse and maid for now, is looking tired. It's sad to see 2 vibrant people so affected by her illness. Think they appreciated the visit although I don't stay long and brought lunch with me for them but she wasn't hungry . Left lots in their fridge, so hope she can taste some of it later, her husband loved the rotisserie chicken, arugula and avocado salad, humus and crackers, cheeses and smoked salmon, plus my huge creme caramel which will provide dessert for several days.

Bringing food and sympathy is about the only thing I can do at this stage and it breaks my heart to see her, now the cancer has spread from her spine to her lungs.

Everyone have a better day today than yesterday!

Mermaid....I am so sorry about your friend. I just went through this with a friend of mine. He had lung cancer that spread to his spine. He was in hospice the last few months as his family could no longer care for him.His funeral was last week. I will be praying for your friend and her husband. That is all so sad.

We are getting that snow storm now (MN). It is supposed to get really bad here in a couple hours with white out conditions. I am glad I don't have to be out in it!!

Hugs and love...connie d

Connie, I guess I forgot  to sign with my name, Jennifer

Re my friend with terminal cancer, all prayers welcome. She started with esophagus cancer  3 years ago after suffering a lifetime of GERD while being overweight , had chemo and radiation which put her not in remission but in "hold" for about 2 years, but now things are getting worse and tumours spreading everywhere according to scans...

She was suicidal at first news of cancer, but I think now has difficulty accepting death as inevitable after so many years of not dying, now that the downward trend has started again. She has terrible headaches  but an MRI showed no tumours in the brain...I think it is dehydration and am always encouraging her to drink water.  She is on so many medications that I think it would help.  But I am not a doctor and do not play one on tv. My friend used to be grossly overweight but has lost so much over the last 2 years it is pitiful, and her much repaired hernia is sticking out like a pregnancy. I try to tempt her with her fave foods...but don't always have any luck...She used to have a sweet tooth, so of course I also brought a box chocolates but not sure if she will eat them now although her husband and a friend both assured me she still likes her sweets.

Thanks for prayers for her, she is in constant pain now...

May your day be better than yesterday!

Jennifer

Good morning Trish and everyone....

Trish...I am glad you are finally seeing a specialist. Hope they can help you so you feel better soon! It sounds like you have a busy day! I am sorry Colleen isn't looking forward to getting back to her teaching job. Things in schools sure have changed and not necessarily for the best!!

We got some snow last night but not a lot. We are getting way more today with white out conditions. Also expecting very high winds!! This will be an interesting day! Schools are already closed. I will be staying in reading and relaxing.

I went out for a bit yesterday. Stopped at the bar all my friends were at celebrating St Pat's Day. I was there less then an hour. I sipped on a diet coke (caffeine free). I got so weak and shaky I had to leave. Everyone was so happy to see me and I was so glad to be there. When will this get better...I am getting so frustrated!!

Wishing you all a great day!! Prayers for those in need.

Love and hugs to all....connie d

Evening OFF family...thought I would stop in say hello...not much happening here except the stupid weather!! Had some icy crap this morning but nothing serious by the time we got up. Had a couple slippery areas but they soon melted. Rain on and off with some winds all day long. Fog now and still some rain off and on yet. This is getting old!!! Chance of snow yet tomorrow. Come on Mother Nature give it a rest already!!!

Talked to my boss today and she said to send her the paperwork on the zero turn tractors we got so far. I did. She called me back and said we get the Husquvarna!! WOOHOO!!! Guys are happy as hell!!! Now they want us to get a price on the grass catcher as well to go with it. Rick is grinning ear to ear he is tickled pink!!! WOW!!!!!! We also get to buy a new push mower!!! We are finally getting NEW equipment!!! Then we also will be getting new snowblowers come next winter!!!  Talk about making the guys happy!!!!!!!! Now they are fighting over who gets to ride it first...LMAO I told them I DO!!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! They dropped their mouths...lmaoooooooooo Kodak moment lol.

Tomorrow we go to see if we can get medicaid. I hope so because I can't take this pain in my wrist anymore. Rick has pain in his back really bad and needs it looked at. Hope they say we can have it.

Talked to my mom yesterday. She has a bad cold and is worried she will get pneumonia. I hope not. She sounded terrible.

Well time to find something for supper.

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSS
