About bars,  I do not keep them on hand.  If they are with in reach, I will eat them like cookies.  I am still a food addict.  I keep Adkins Advantage drinks in the refrig.  They are pretty safe with me.

Sorry about your friend.  Hope you get to go to funeral, but she would not want to come if you are not able..

Hi Ruby and my OFF family:

I have tried the Quest bars and loved them, but they're expensive and haven't bought any in awhile. I like the brownie, cinnamon roll and vanilla almond. I found them very filling, too. 

Not much else going on. It's my Friday so it's my last night of wor****pt dozing off in bed. Guess I'm tired. ... and a little confused. Called my brother to ask how mom's doctor's appointment went ... forgot it was Wednesday and my brother was at work. I'm really confused. Oh well, I'll talk to him tomorrow I guess.

Thanks for your comment about Quest Bars.  There site says GNC carry them.  There is one up the street, so I may try them.  I buy Lean Shake 25 there for my protein coffee.

I tried the Lean Shake 25 and love it.  I was surprised it tasted so good. So you just mix it with coffee?

I put 3/4 of a scoop of Lean 25 and 1/2 scoop of Upcal D.  Add a little water to dissolve.  Mix good and add coffee.  I do not like real hot coffee, so the cooling off with water does not bother me.  If you add Lean 25 to hot coffee it will crudle up.  It has a chocolate taste which I like.  I have never been a big coffee drinker, so the chocolate taste pleases me.

Ooooo I must try this as soon as lent is over.  I gave up my coffee, even though it is decaf I still miss it in the mornings.  I have some Lean 25 Chocolate here but I'm not familiar with UpcalD?

Upcal D is just a powdered calcium with D.  It is just my way of getting in my Cal and D.  It will taste the same without  it.  Hope you like it.  Another friend says it messes her coffee and will not use it.   So...

Late getting on here not much happening but the weather here....SNOW off and on...YUCK!!!!!!!!!! Thought spring was on the way?????? And its 25* out there BRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!

Had the laundry repair man come today fixed the washer from leaking all over the place. Wonderful. The electrician never showed up yet. GRRRRRRRRRRRR  He was supposed to be here first thing this morning. Yeah sure. Tell me another story you want me to believe. Sighs. Give them tomorrow morning and he best show up or a nasty call goes in to their company.

Waiting for Duck Dynasty to come on tonight. Love that show!!! Those guys are so fun to watch!!

Guess its time to play a game or something to unwinde. Not sure if I spelled that right or not but right now I don't care. LOL

Ruby,

I was ever big on the protein bars.  They had way too much sugar and were too dry for me.  Since surgery, I a lactose intolerant, so I don't do the shakes either.   My nutrition woman and the doctor have advised me to eat high protein food, which I do and they fill me up.  I do keep carrots and celery chopped and ready to eat at all times so that I can have a quick snake.  I also eat Greek yogurt.   The rest of the snack food that I eat are meat products like jerky, small cans of tuna, or ham rolls with cheddar cheese.  I don't tolerate sugar at all and I cannot do the sugar free if it has a lot of sugar alcohols.   One of my favorite snacks is pepperoni chips that I make by putting the pepperoni in the oven and cooking until crisp and then leaving them cool on paper towels and then I feel like I am getting some chips.   Every one is different and you will find your way; however, let me caution you to take advantage of the honey money phase and lose as much weight as you can during this time.  Likewise, make sure you do not get back in to those bad habits of snacking on glidder foods like crackers etc.

Lightswitch, Thanks for your reply.  Thanks for your advice and all of it is good.  But, you have me confused with someone or i have mislead you.   I had RNY 8 years ago.  Pls forgive me for not making my situation clear.  You are so right about the honeymoon stage.
