Feeling Optimistic!
`Got up this morning to overcast skies and rain in the forecast. Have already been downtown to deliver certificates and back home to hopefully get some cleaning done today!
Excited to go see the surgeon for our first visit on Wednesday morning but don't have my list of questions complete. I know tat we can do this and am hoping we will be able to have surgery close enough together that we can go through the recovery together. I think we will do better supporting each other WITH the support of our family and friends. Have been looking for high protein shakes to start trying and compiling a list of clear liquids to fill the pantry when he time comes. My husband has started saying "when" we lose weight not "if" so that is very encouraging to me as well.
Well, better get my day started and make some progress!
Happy Day all!

Karen that is great news!!! I know a couple that did their surgery a week apart and it worked out great for them. I am so happy for you both!!
You will have tons of support here as well!!!
I buy "Boost" for protein drinks. They are convenient and handy to use. This is the one my surgeon has his patients use. I use the "Glucose Control" or the "Calorie Count". Less calories and sugars. They are exactly the same but the "Calorie Count" usually costs less as it isn't in the diabetic section at the store. I have tried many, many, protein mixes and just can't use them. The after taste gets me every time . I don't have that problem with Boost. Plus, I like that they are ready to use!! I can grab them and take them anywhere. I also prefer "Pure Protein" bars over many others. I always keep them in my purse. They only have 2 grams of sugar and 20 grams of protein.
I wish you the very best....keep us updated!

I have tried the Ensure brand protein shakes and they aren't bad, With 25g of protein might be good to have on hands. I'll have to give the Boost a try. I have tried Pure Protein bars and I can see where those will be a staple in our house. Have been looking for a low sugar, low fat yogurt to try a smoothie with some protein powder. I also stopped at the local GNC and they have a shake mix "Lean Shake 25" Have tried with some ice and water, not too bad either. So far haven't noticed aftertaste.
I am depending on support from the forum as I don't have much family left, several good friends who are being very supportive and a few who are not. To be expected. Sometimes it just helps to chat with someone who has/is going through the same thing. So keep the ideas and suggestions coming! Thanks!!
