Getting a little nervous....

Well, tomorrow my husband and I go to our first seminar.  We are both excited but I am a little nervous.  I have the idea in the back of my mind that even though I more than meet the criteria for RNY, there will be something that will keep me from having the surgery and I will have to try to do this on my own. I know I have lost a significant amount of weight before I didn't change my habits and eventually put it all back on and then some, big surprise there!

Enough looking back! I want to look forward to a healthier lifestyle and breaking old habits!  Now all I need is a support group and I think I will be good to go.

Please don't worry. I know that is easier said then done. Everyone of us has felt the same way. Just take one step at a time. Do as they ask and everything will work out. I wasn't excepted the first time. I jumped right back in and gathered more info and was accepted!! These insurance companies try hard to discourage us. Keep fighting...do not give up!!!

The thread is just on this site. Every morning someone starts by saying "Happy Friday what's new" or something similar to that.  Just go to the first person to post and at the bottom of their post hit the reply button. Then reply and submit and there you are!!

Welcome to OFF!  We love to have new folks join us.  This group will offer you friendship and support throughout the entire WLS process, so don't hesitate to jump in.  I think being nervous is something we've all experienced.  I waited for 18 months before I had my surgery.  First insurance wouldn't pay for WLS, and then by some miracle, my husband's company switched to BCBS and they would pay!  Still had to jump through some hoops, but it was worth it.

Good luck with your seminar tomorrow.  I think it's neat that both you and your husband are going through this process together.
