Hey, it's Tuesday, where is everyone?
Hi my OFF family:
I know I'm up earlier than usual, but gee, it's 9 a.m. ... where is everyone?
I couldn't sleep ... went to bed at about 1:30 a.m., got up at 5:30 a.m., itchy scalp, hurting knees and back and hands ... finally gave up and got up at 6:30 and came out into the living room. Made coffee, breakfast and started on the day. Much too early for me. I have to work tonight, so I should try to get a nap later.
We had more computer problems last night, right on deadline. Our wonderful new system wouldn't allow us to save stories or pages right on deadline, of course. I was done with my page, our news pages are out but our Kentucky paper's sports page was waiting on a late game and that page kept crashing because of this problem. Plus, the story kept losing the copy. Fun, fun, fun!
And our obit person called in to tell us the inch count at 5:30 p.m., then didn't get the pages to us until after 10:30 p.m. Way too late! It was a hell of a night.
Anyway, one more day of work and then I have a three-day weekend. I need a mental health day, so I said I wanted to take an extra day off.
Well, what's new with you? Any snow? We are supposed to get rain, then a little snow (about an inch to 3 inches). Minor considering what Minneapolis and points north are getting.
Have a good day ... stay safe.
Good Morning Eileen and OFF,
I have a busy morning, actually day, ahead of me. I had Colleen and the kids over for dinner last night, and I have to get the kitchen cleaned up. I also have a Bible study I'm behind on in the homework. Then, tonight, I actually go to Bible study at church. I'm still fighting my sinus infection, and feel like crap, but must keep moving.
Hope everyone is doing well.
Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Eileen and Trish and all my wonderful OFF sistas!
So, my flooring saga continues today. Yesterday they did finally get the last of the flooring laid in all of the rooms. Yippee! But the special order trim pieces didn't arrive, so they are not coming back to finish today. Perhaps tomorrow. Can't say that I'm too disappointed. I'm happy just to have a day without a half dozen strange men tramping in and out of my house!
Oh, but we love this new floor. You just can't imagine what a difference it made in this old house! It opened up the entire floor plan. It looks clean and light and so much bigger in each room. We will have to get used to the sound factor. Walking around on wood laminate is a bit noisier than walking around on carpeting, but we will adjust. Mostly it's the puppies' nails going clickety-clickety-clickety that's driving us all bats! LOL! (And of course, Butch sounds like an elephant tromping down the hallway, but don't tell him I said that. Tee hee!)
Anyway, this house is a complete wreck. So much dust everywhere! And all my furniture is still all shoved hither and thither. Going to take me a week to put everything back in order and clean it all. I have one week before Butch's surgery next Tuesday. Maybe I can do it. I'm still trying to get the last of my new plantation blinds hung, too.
I think I'm going to go and buy a Roomba (robotic vacuum cleaner) tomorrow. Anyone have one? Or have any suggestions? From what I can read on the internet they do an excellent job on hard floors. I now have 2200 square feet of floor to sweep daily. Whew! I think the Roomba would be an excellent investment, especially with all the pet hair I have to deal with.
Butch and I are going to try for another "date" tomorrow. It sure didn't happen last Saturday, like we had planned. We're going into San Antonio and find the hospital where his surgery will be. (SandraKay--it's the Methodist Ambulatory Surgery Hospital on Huebner. Ever heard of it?)
Then we are going to the Alamo to see the Travis letter. Brief history--during the siege of the Alamo, several letters were sent across Texas requesting additional troops, etc. Col. William Travis sat down the last night and wrote what is called the "Victory or Death" letter. All of those brave men knew they were facing certain death and Travis offered them the chance to leave that night with no questions asked. Not a single man left. The next morning, they were all killed in a massacre by Santa Anna. The letter is very old and fragile and has been kept in Austin, but for the very first time, they have allowed it to be put on display in the Alamo. The last time that piece of paper was in the Alamo was 177 years ago, the night before the final battle. I want to go see it. My gggg-grandfather came to Texas in 1832 and fought for independence in the Texas Revolutionary War in 1836. He wasn't at the Alamo, but he was at the Battle of San Jacinto when Sam Houston defeated Santa Anna. Texas history means a lot to me.
Sorry, I didn't mean to go into lecture mode. I'm kind of a Texas history buff.
Well, my dusting and cleaning isn't going to do itself. I'd better get started. Hope everyone in the path of the big snow storm stays warm and safe. Connie, I worry about you having to get out and move your car every night. Be careful, sweet friend. Trish, sorry you're feeling like crud again with your sinuses. And geez, Eileen, I can't believe that someone can't fix y'all's computers!!! Something is not right there.
Love you all!
Quick stop in before I go back to the office to do more rents...
We are under a WINTER STORM WARNING for 6-8 inches of that white crap....supposed to start now about 4pm...wonderful. We go get our taxes done at 4 so hopefully we won't get in a wreck on the way home by some idiot that has no idea how to stop their car in the snow!! Body is screaming in pain so we must be going to get hit hard...yikes!!! Found some horse linament at Rite Aid that is supposed to work great but not sure if I want to spend $21 on it to try it and find out it doesn't work for us. It is called ARTH ARREST Anyone ever try it?
Vicki that new wood floor is great but the noise...lol you will get used to in no time...just be careful when you wax it...slippery as all get out!!!!! Also wearing just your socks...careful my friend!!!
Well time to get back to work.
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSS
Good morning Eileen and everyone....
I am just checking in quick. The pain I am feeling is so bad I can hardly type. I had to go out and clean off my car at 12:30 AM...then they loaded up the plow and left. They didn't even get to my driveway just the neighbors. They towed the plow away...something must have happened to it. They were back at 2:30 AM. I had to clean off and move the car. They did a quick pass thru. At 5 AM they were back. Cleaned off the car and moved it again!!! We got a ton of snow and more coming all day today!!! They cleaned the lot good. I can bet they will be back as we got even more snow. My car is full of snow again. This is going to kill me yet!!!
Wishing you all a great day. Prayers for all in need.
I just done have the energy to answer everyone's post....I just can't!!!
Love and hugs to all...connie d
Hi Connie,
I'm so sorry you aren't feeling well. I totally understand how it feels to not have any energy. I'm also sorry you have to keep cleaning your car off from all the snow. The worst part of where I used to live in Pennsylvania was having to park in the street in bad weather. I could dig my car out of my parking spot, go to work, and come back and have to park down the block because someone would take my spot. I'm thrilled I have a driveway and a remote garage door opener, because I park in the garage now, and it hasn't snowed so bad requiring me to shovel the entire driveway.
Hang in there, and take care of yourself.
Love you Sweetie.
Hugs,
Trish

Hello Trish...no rest for me. I went down for a nap at 1:30 PM. A half hour later the plows were back and I had to do the car thing all over again. The sad news is, it is still snowing and will be through the night!!!!
Thanks for the nice reply. I used to have my own garage and door opener too. I gave all that up to move to Iowa. My sister uses the garage here. I hope to have one in the next place I live. My daughter said she will pay for the garage and get an opener installed if necessary!!
I am going to try to sleep a bit now. I just finished setting up my sister's meds and ordering what she needed. Then I had to get the trash out...MY JOB!!
Love you much....HUGS....conne d
Connie, I hope you can get out of there soon. I miss my garage, too ... I had one in my condo. Now, at least, I have a parking space in front of my apartment ... don't have to walk too far. And we haven't had much snow here (yet ... only Christmas night have we had any measurable snow, and that melted quickly enough). So I don't have to run around and move my car.
I have no energy lately, either. I started taking an extra B12. I'm just dragging. Plus, I'm hurting a lot more lately, too. Don't want to go to the doctor, but I might do so because everything hurts. I know it's the weather, but damn, I can't believe how much I'm dragging, too.
Tonight is my last night at work before three days off. I really need them. I have a chiro appointment tomorrow. I hope she can give me some relief.
You take care of yourself, Connie.
