A Better Thursday!
Good morning, my Sistas!
I am happy to report that I feel much improved this morning. Had a good night's sleep and feel like a human being again today. Still not entirely 100%, but on my way back to the living, for sure.
Today we go see our new GP for Butch's clearance for knee surgery. Cross your fingers that he gets the go ahead. We are so ready to get this surgery behind us so we can move forward with our lives. I hope Butch feels better this morning, too. He's still sleeping.
The flooring guys made some progress yesterday. Took up all the carpeting in the living room, office and hallway. This is an old house on pier and beam, so they had to do some leveling with some kind of epoxy stuff. It had to dry overnight. Today they say they will start laying the new floor in the living room, etc., and will start taking up the old floor in the kitchen. Sounds like a good day to eat out, yes? Yes!
Thinking about Mikka today and her surgery. Judy, I'm so sorry your wrist is paining you so much. Take it easy, if you can. Connie, hope you are feeling a little bit better each day. Eileen, that is very kind of you to take your boss shopping. Building up good brownie points! LOL! Welcome to our new members! Join in our daily thread.
Love you all!
Good Morning Vickie and OFF Friends,
I tried twice to post on Wednesday's thread, and twice my computer gave me trouble. Can't remember if I ever got through.
Vickie, I'm glad you're feeling better. Hope Butch is as well. Glad the flooring work started for you.
Connie, I sure wish we lived closer to each other. I'd love to hang out with you, and the rest of our family here on OFF.
Well, I got my car title and registration, and drivers license for Michigan. I just need to get my license plate put on my car. I'll try a little later today. I also went to the bank yesterday, and opened an account. Now, I need to get my direct deposits for my retirement and disability checks changed.
Today, I'm laying low. I have some work to do around the house. But, I also have to rest the foot. I do plan to make some hamburger stew in the crockpot. It's very yummy. I brown lean ground beef. Throw it in the crockpot with chopped potatoes, frozen peas, chopped carrots, frozen corn, and a can of condensed tomato soup. It's very yummy. I've also made it with beef broth. I just love the taste the tomato soup gives to everything.
Must get moving.
Hugs,
Trish

Good mornin' ya'll.
I haven't even visited this site in ages! Life has been busy for me. I have been to Oregon once and going back again in 10 days.
Today our son is officially retired from the Marine Corps after 29 years. He has been on leave for the last two months and working at another job he loves, and that pays very well. Our grandson who joined the Navy is still in school in FL. maybe because of budget cuts his schools have been postponed a few times. His wife and baby are back in IN. The baby is growing like a weed and cute as can be.
Our daughter's crazy ex is still crazy. While he was in OR for Christmas he was supposed to get the house out of our daughter's name. According to the divorce decree, if he didn't do that the house and contents would belong to Judi. He went back to Thailand without doing that. Our daughter won't hold him in contempt and take the house. She doesn't wanna upset the kids anymore. The ex will be back from Thailand later this month and will try to sell the house and stay in some warm place until the condo facility he bought into is done being built. Then he will go back to Thailand and live there. Two weeks after our granddaughter got her license some uninsured lady ran into her and totalled her car. No one was hurt, but she had to get another car. The OR grandson is living at his father's house while he is in Thailand. Apparently he and all his friends are having a grest time. Pizza boxes, uneaten food, cigarette butts and everything everywhere. He does manage to get himself to school each morning and is maintaining a fantastic "D" average. He is 18 and feels no one can tell him anything. He also works part time.
As for me. As you know I had the 'sleeve' last year when I had my leaky band removed. I have managed to maintain my weight with no loss since then. For me, the sleeve was a very expensive joke! The Dr. said I am the first of his patients to have had NO results with the sleeve. I was afraid maybe I had stretched out my new little tummy, but they did a fluoro exam and nope! My food just zips right through faster than it did with a whole stomach. So in January, I went back and got another band. I got my first fill Tuesday. This time I am stickin' with the first fill guy that got me right in three fills with my first band. WooHoo! He is a five hour drive away, but worth it! I am so hoping that this is the answer to get this regain off for good!
I so hope that all of you are doing well. That medical, emotional and financial peoblems will all be resolved. I'll try to get back here again more often.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!!
Carolyn...what a pleasant surprise to see your post here this morning! I was concerned that you were having health issues. I am glad that for the most part you were just very busy.I am sure your son is happy to finally officially get his retirement. Sounds like your OR grandson has some growing up to do. At lease he is going to school. Hope he straightens out a bit and gets his grades up!! I was surprised that your other grandson is still in school/Navy. It seems like it has been a long time.I would love to see a pic of that sweet little great-grandbaby. I hope the new band helps. Sorry the sleeve didn't work out!!
Wishing you a wonderful day. So great to see you back!!
Prayers, love and hugs....connie d

I am feeling so much better. I truly believe that smell was making me sick. The doctor was right it was enviromental. Glad it is mostly all gone!! I feel better today then I have in a very long time!!
I need to go to the grocery store today to get some bananas. I am out and like to eat one everyday. Nothing else planned. I am taking it slow as I don't want a relapse!!
I am so excited that Carrie is coming in the morning!! I really miss her!
Wishing you all a really wonderful day!! Prayers for many in need as well as a few special ones as well.
Love and many hugs to all....connie d
Hi Vickie and my OFF family:
Glad you are feeling better. Good sleep is the cure for everythng. Hope you can get Butch's surgery scheduled.
I spent a good 2 1/2 hours driving my boss around and shopping. It was a good cause. He gave me gas money and bought me dinner, so I made out OK. Got a few groceries myself, enough to last me to next week.
I've been trying to reach my friend Mary Kay to see how her surgery went, but can't reach her. I've called her cellphone and the hospital, but no answer. Oh well, I'll try again later.
Anyway, back to work tonight. I need to get in the shower and get lunch. Have a good day.
Hi Connie:
Thanks for being concerned about Mary Kay. She made it through surgery OK. The doctor was able to do the sleeve and repair her hiatal hernia, all laproscopically. She is a little hoarse (probably from the tube they stick down your throat during surgery) and tired (from being woken up every four hours to walk) but otherwise in good shape. No problems from her heart (she has heart issues) and hasn't had to use the pain pump much. So all went well ... she said the surgeon was smiling when he left the OR. She's another one on the losers' bench.
