XRAY RESULTS BACK
Got the results back today...I have arthritis in my wrist. Do I want to go see a specialist? For what? Therapy? Tell me I have arthritis and what to expect? Nah...I know it will hurt me as it gets worse...I could have deformaty later on down the road...my aunts had it. Tell me to wear the brace at bedtime...already doing that...doing the ho****er soaks when doing dishes squeezing the hard sponge also...what more besides drugs? I hate taking pills.
What would you do if you were me????
Judy....if you go to PT they can show you some exercises to strengthen that area. At first you may be able to do without PT. Trust me later you can't make it without meds. I feel so bad for you! This runs in my family too.
I am in such horrible pain everyday. It hurts to open things...anything....my body throbs. I have no choice but to take Vicodin for the pain. I limit it to mostly just at night and only a 1/2 tab if I can get by with that. I have arthritis in my low back, hips, knees, wrists, feet, elbows...if I have a joint it is there!. This on top of the Fibro is killing me. I am so glad to have Flexeril for the muscle pain. Once I am over this flu and whatever I am going to a pain clinic and pray they will have ways to help.
Good luck to you.... I hope you feel better soon!!!
Love, Hugs, and Prayers.....connie d
Judy, I take pills, use ice a lot on my knees and back. I'll tell ya, that back procedure did wonders for me, though. I don't have nearly the pain I used to have. Now, other areas of my body are hurting me ... my hands feel swollen in the morning, my elbows hurt, my shoulders, my knees, of course (still hurt), my feet, my ankles (broke my right one in high school ... acts up now and then). By the end of my week, I'm a wreck and ready to do nothing for a day. And that's what I do. But last week, on Wednesday (my second day off), I was actually able to do some vacuuming. First time I've been able to do that without taking a vicodin after.
Arthritis is a ***** ain't it? I get it from my dad's side. I think fibro came from there, too.
Sorry to hear about the arthritis, that blows. I have it in my back, I had surgery, injections and PT. I still have to take norco's usually 4 a day to be able to get all my stuff done. The a few weeks ago doc told me I had bursitis in my hip and shoulder. Like you said what ya going to do. I can deal with the pain most of the time. I would however go to the PT, and learn how to manage it. It will help on down the road.
