Greetings Everyone,
I'm taking a break between a busy morning and babysitting all my grandchildren this evening. I babysat the boys this morning. Then, I went to get my car transferred to Michigan, and also get a Michigan drivers license. I also went to the store and got a kitchen trash can, and new towels for my bathroom. My towels were getting ratty prior to my move, but I couldn't decided what color until I got here. Colleen had put a purple Softsoap and my lavendar candle in the bathroom, so I went with a rich plum color for towels and bath rug. I forgot to look for a shower curtain, so I'll need to go back. I already have a shower liner, so I don't need to worry about it as much.
Tonight, Colleen teaches a class at the community college, and Trent is working out of town this week. I have to leave in ten minutes.
I'm really tired, so I'm hoping for an easy night. Probably won't happen, but I can wish.
It was nea****ching the Academy Awards. I didn't see close ups of Casey, but saw her hair, and her walking down the steps from the stage as the song came to an end. She and Chris were invited to an after party by the originator of the theater production of Les Mis 27 years ago. Chris texted me that Piers Morgan was televising from that party, before the show ended. I'm pretty excited that he has to come to Detroit on Wednesday. But, he was offered a position with Nielsen which would change his business trips from Detroit to Los Angeles. I'll still get to see him when he comes to visit, and when I go to PA to visit, he can come down, or I can take the train to Manhattan.
Have to scoot.
Love,
Trish

Hello Trish!!
Busy, busy, busy...do you ever get to use that channel changer...LOL
I love the color you picked for towels and the bath rug. I love those colors together....lavendar and plum!!
I saw your DIL and everyone preform. I only saw a picture of her once so I didn't know which one she was. They were awesome!!
It will be great when you can spend time with your son again. I pray it all works out.
Love to you...hugs too....connie d
Hi Carla and Everyone:
Slept late after watching the Oscars, and then couldn't sleep so read in bed and was 2 am when I switched the light off, still not very sleepy....Had a late breakfast, and finished off the last glass of wine in the house with lunch at 1pm. Tomorrow I start clean living (was supposed to start today, but the glass of wine got in the way) as I have a blood test next week, so no wine, and no rich anything for a week...If I lose some weight that will be my kickoff for a harder and longer effort...my clothes are too tight, and I'd really like to drop a full size (or maybe two....)
Went through papers sorting into different piles, for Income Tax time as our deadline for filing tax returns in Canada is May 1..Usually see my accountant in April, but as I have to pay my income taxes quarterly, hope there will be no extra to pay when he finally works things out for me to sign and file..I hate the drudgework, so can only do about an hour or so of sorting papers a day.
I also went to the pool and did some aquafit by myself and feel energized. I've promised myself I will go every day I don't have to work as I prefer going around 2-3 pm as get the pool all to myself and can splash and thrash around all I want. I find it helps my fibromyalgia and keeps me more flexible, sometimes it's a hassle to go there, but once I'm in the water I am glad I made the effort. It's a small pool, so I can't really do much more than gentle underwater exercises if other people are there or I will swamp them....
Working tomorrow a half day, so errands in the afternoon, and Wednesday will do the pool again as we are getting a whack of snow and I am at home so can do more papers for the accountant. Am going to miss that glass of wine, and will probably drink gallons of tea but it will not be the same...
Everyone have a better day today than yesterday!
Jennifer
.
Good evening everyone.
My day was very busy as I am trying to make sure that the office is covered while I am out. Some of the people are not being supportive but I have to understand that is their problem not mine. I am the supervisor over the group and I'm a workaholic so that means that others will have to really have to pitch in to cover while I am out. Oh well can't let their surliness bring me down. I really want this for myself and for so many years I have been all about what others wanted and forgot myself.
BTW for those that were working when you had your surgery what is about the normal time to be off? My doctor gave guidelines of 3 weeks but said he has had several that went back after 1 week and a lot more after two weeks.
I made a special trip to the drugstore to get several tubes of chapstick so I would have that handy at the hospital. Most of my bag is packed to take with me. Yep I do not prograstinate...although some days I sure wished I did. My honey really wishes I did - LOL!
I am still trying to get my head around the clear liquids all day on Wednesday and trying to work that day as well. Anyway enough with me. I hope everyone had a fantastic Monday and ready to move into Tuesday.
Blessings and hugs,
Mikka
I went back to work after my first check up and lifting was careful...I also had my RNY done laproscopicly...spelled that wrong!!! LOL I was ready to go back sooner but dr said not til I had my check up!!! LOL So depending on the type of work you do I guess it just depends on you an the dr. As for those that do not support you...let them eat their hearts out!!! Its YOUR time to do for YOU and SHINE!!!!!!!!
You only have to do ONE day of liquids? WOW!!!! Lucky you!!!
Hang in there you will make it!!! Just remember to sip sip sip and walk walk walk!!! :-)
HUGSSSSSSS
I took three weeks off, even though I also had it done lap. But I found I was very tired after surgery. Even though it's lap RNY or VSG or whatever, it's still major surgery, and they're rooting around in your tummy there ... you may feel fatigued for a couple of weeks. Plus, you may have gas (not sure about the sleeve folks, but I know we RNYers got a lot of gas immediately postop from the air they use during the operation). Plus, because they give you IV fluids, you'll notice some bloating. It will go away as you drink water and pee it out.
I really needed all of my three weeks off ... thought I was ready when I went back but really dragged that first week back and a couple of days had to go home early; one day had to call in sick (migraine). Your body will get used to whatever it has to. But everyone is different and every doctor is different in what they want you to do. Mine, they had us follow a two-week preop diet of their product (shakes, bars, soups, spaghetti, chili ... etc. ... Judy had the same doctor as I did). But we didn't have to do clear liquids for one whole day.
You and my friend are having surgery near the same day ... Mary Kay is having it Wednesday. I'm so excited for her.
