Hi and welcome1

You are not to old I just had rny last Aug and I'm 57. Right know I'm at a stand still and I've been snacking too much so I need to kick start myself.

Look forward to reading your post, thought and prayers,

Debbie

You are not too old. I have a friend who is having the VSG and she is 61. She will be having the sleeve this week. I'm so happy she made this decision. Good luck to you.

Thank you Eileen.  I am feeling so much better about the surgery and my age since I have found OFF.  Y'all are wonderful.

Aloha Mikka....Had to respond to your post because it made me laugh! Because at 53 you are a youngster!! I'm so happy you are having this marvelous surgery at such a young age. I had mine when I was 62 and that was 7 year ago!! I lost 165 lbs. the first two years, and 20 more in the past five. Went from high of 335 to today's weight of 145. I am so thankful for all the mobility I have now, and for the freedom to feel comfortable in most situations instead of feeling like everyone was looking at me because of my size.

This group helped me through way before the RNY surgery in 2006 until today when I still read everyday, but don't post as much as I used to.

Good luck, and I am very happy for you.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Congrats! You are never too old to begin living! As a matter of fact, I think we're a bit more apt to know what we want out of the rest of our lives now that we've lived a bit. At least that's how I feel. Keep us posted on how it goes Thursday!

Blessings,

Mikka

Hi Mikka,

I had my VSG on 2/28/2011 at the age of 63.  You are just a "spring chicken". It has made an unbelievable change in my life.  Good luck.  Follow what your doctor tells you and all will be good.

Keep in touch.

Hugs and prayers, Sandra

Thank you Sandra.  I intend to be a good discipline and follow exactly what my doctor tells me.  This is way too important to me to screw it up especially since that is what got me into the mess - ME!!

Blessings,

Mikka
