Snowy Saturday!!
I canceled all of my Friday & Saturday meetings and Danny's family birthday dinner and a good thing that I did.....we can go NEXT week. There's no point being on the roads unless it is very important in this storm.
JB fell out in the driveway this afternoon checking the road and he is black & blue...his knee and ankle swollen but he insists on "walking it off"...stubborn darned Dutchman! He doesn't have padding like I do. But he and Derek had a quick sleep and back they went out there into the storm to plow. Derek's snow shoveller quit after one night ...,too cold and too hard for the poor softy, welfare is easier money though my son pays premium cash! So JB has to help out.....at 69, he shouldn't be doing that but he won't listen to me.
So I am about to get to bed at 4 am...they will be working quite a number of hours - shouldn't I feel...guilty!? my bad!
Oreo, our black & white cat, aka DemonSeed or HoneyBooBoo, got another ride out to town, this time in MY car yesterday...he wraps his front paws tightly around JB's ankles when John gets dressed to go out so JB just picks Oreo up and takes him along! Oreo gets so agitated if JB goes out the front door...then he and LilyRose hover around that door, crying til JB returns...this is crazy! Perhaps feline psychiatric counseling is needed.
Please, everyone be safe out there if you are in the storm areas...

Good morning Nancy and all my snowbound sistas!
All I can say it's a good thing I live in the south! It is warm and balmy here. Although the weatherman promises we will have at least one more freeze before Feb is over. Still it's nothing like what y'all are dealing with up north. Truly, I just do not think I could handle all that snow and ice and freezing temperatures. Nancy, I hope JB and Derek will get done soon and can get some rest! I can't imagine how hard their work must be.
I am typing very carefully this morning. My shoulder is aching from doing the painting yesterday. Stupid shoulder. Why does it think I am 55? Doesn't it know I'm really just 25? LOL!
Not much planned for today. Got to rest my shoulder, so that severely curbs my activity level. Prolly jus****ching movies with Benny and crocheting. Take a walk around the block. That sort of thing.
Hope everyone in the path of Nemo stays inside and stays warm today! Love you all!
Good morning Nancy and everyone......
Nancy.....I hope your guys get done shoveling/plowing soon and can get some rest. That is a lot of hard work!! Sorry JB fell...hope the knee and ankle are okay. Men and their "walking it out" !!! So glad you canceled your plans and are staying home. It is best to stay safe and warm!
Vickie....maybe you need a cortizone shot in your shoulder. That sure has helped me. Good luck! Enjoy your quiet WARM day with Benny!!
I am going to try once again to go see my friend today. Yesterday was a bust! I have been having problems with my phone for months. The charger didn't work. Got a new charger and the battery isn't holding. The phone just came on the market 6 months ago when I bought it. I got a call that no batteries are available. The phone isn't going to be sold any longer. DUH!! I had to go and pick up new phone...no charge...that was for sure!! I was there almost 3 hours!! They had a million calls to make and junk my old phone in the computer before they could even set me up with another phone. I was not a happy camper!! At first they said they would send my phone in and then they would let me know what phone I could get....WRONG!! I let them know I wasn't leaving with a "loaner" or anything else!! I said I was walking out with NEW phone!! I finally got to speak with the manager as I have worked with him many times before. He immediately got the ball rolling. He even gave me a new case for my new phone!! I was so weak and shakey. I was sitting in a chair most of the time. They kept asking if I was alright as I was so pale. NO I WASN't......get me the PHONE!!! I was to exhausted to do anything else. I came home and laid down the rest of the day! I love Verizon but WOW!!
Wishing you all a great day!! Those in the storm areas keep safe and warm!!
Prayers for many and all in the the way of the storm!
Love and lots of hugs....connie d
Thanks Connie! I did have a cortisone shot in my shoulder last summer and it did help. That particular doctor thought I had bursitis--which may be true for all I know. But I'm thinking I need to go see an ortho doc and get some xrays and make sure it's not something that needs surgery. Anytime I do a lot of repetitive motion with my right arm (like painting or mopping or reaching for the mouse), my shoulder aches like a biatch! It's been doing this for several years. I really need to address it now while we still have good insurance, you know?
So sorry those idiots at the phone store were not more accommodating and efficient for you. No one should have to wait 3 hours for service. Geez.
Hope you are doing well today. Rest and relax as much as you can!
Good afternoon Nancy,Vicki, & Connie. I know I haven't posted much. We seem to always be going to the doctors. I had my second trilogy this week. I was told it usually only takes one time. It did work the first time. The 2 tumors are inactive now. Well my body decided to make 2 more brain tumors. At least no chemo yet.
We are celebrating my 2nd sons 37th birthday today. Having corn beef & cabbage, chocolate pudding cake, & homemade cheesecake.. I love it when I have a good day! I hope you all have a great weekend.
Vicki, I a praying for Butch's retirement. Nan
Awwww, thanks, Nan! How sweet of you. We are both looking forward to his retirement, that's for sure.
You just keep fighting the good fight. You're going to be the exception to the rule, sweetie! Look at how far you have already come. I think of you often and pray for your continued recovery and good health. Also remember little Morgan, too.
Enjoy the birthday celebration. Kiss everyone twice today!
Hi Nancy and my OFF family:
Glad I'm not up there in the snow zone ... it was colder last night and a little chilly today (40) but sunny and dry. I do not miss the snow. I too well remember the storms in Michigan (which they called blizzards but were nothing like the real blizzards in South Dakota) and the blizzards of 1996-97 in SoDak. My bones don't like snow.
Nan, glad to see you again ... sorry to hear you have two new tumors. Keep up the fight. Love ya!
Connie, hope your phone works better than the last one. Too bad you had to sit there so long. I hate when that happens. I have had to fight for that kind of stuff and stood there for so long in pain, so I know what you're going through (although you have been ill and don't need that kind of stuff).
Vickie, take it easy ... you are not 25!
I had an easier night last night, up until the end when a page froze on me and forced me to take a 10-minute break on deadline. Not happy! But we figured out why my system has been so slow ... I have been working on the wrong application, so I got that figured out and things were much quicker, although I still had two freezes. Plus, the biz guy forgot to do one page and that piled another page on top of my workload, which was already big. He's done this before and I'm not happy with him. He sprints out of the office at night ... wish I could get out exactly at 5 or 6 p.m. as he does. He leaves so many things undone. Sorry ... I have sworn I wouldn't vent specific details of work but can't help it. It ****** me off.
Back to work tonight ... sports pages but it's always a busy night on Saturday so I don't envision an easy night. Woke up with a headache and feel like crap, but of course I'll go in (headache is gone, fortunately). Just tired, that's all. Working that extra day has worn me out. Still three more days. The paycheck will be nice but I just want to crawl in a hole.
Anyway, have a good day. I need to get in the shower and have lunch.
Good Evening OFF Family,
What an exhausting two days I've had. After driving over six hours to my new home, I had the thrill of sitting in my new living room with all three of my children, all three of my grandchildren, and my son-in-law. My Christopher, from New York, was in Detroit on business and couldn't fly home yesterday because of the snowstorm, so he had my daughter pick him up and he spent the night at her house. We all had lunch together. I am overjoyed at having them all together.
I now have cable and Internet. FINALLY. I have two of my own remote controls. Yeehaw!!!
I'm almost ready for bed, but I must take Utley potty.
Hugs,
Trish
