Marilyn,

First of all I need to say welcome back.

My heart goes out to you!!!! My prayers are with you!

Go to the grief group it will help you. Then find someone you can talk to after the class is  over.

As for getting back on track you have to be ready. Only you will know when that will be. Take it one day at a time.

Good morning Marylyn and welcome back!!

I am so sorry for all of your losses. How horrible for you. I agree 8 weeks isn't enough to get over any kind of loss. Maybe you can connect with someone from the group and you can continue to help each other.

I have the same problem with eating. I do great all day and graze all night. I am trying to change that but it sure is tough. I too have gained weigh and want to get rid of it too.

Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers.....HUGS.....connie d

Marylyn I am so sorry for all you have gone thru.  While going thru my weight lose journey I lost my father and brother a year apart.  I handled the grief from losing my brother by not eating at all than when my father was diagnosed with the same cancer right after my brother's passing at 41, I too turned to my comfort foods, carbs.  Nobody gets thru the loss in 8 weeks.  As Connie stated, maybe you can find somebody in the group to click with.  Get yourself a good therapist to help you thru your lose.  You need more than a 8 week program and food to help you heal from the loss of your child.   Big Hug!

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Marylyn,

You have been through a great deal of devastating events. An 8 week grief support group is only a start. See if you can get in for regular therapy and maybe discuss taking an antidepressant.

You came here before and got support. Come back more often.

Hugs

Annette

Hi Marylyn...I'm so sorry for your loss. I know your heartache because my baby girl died from leukemia a year ago.She was 27 and left behind three young children. Plus her father passed away from a heart attack wh en he was 39. I was 37 with 5 kids. I didn't come out of the fog for three years.
Grief is a very personal journey. I'm just now to the point where I don't cry at my desk at work anymore over my daughter.
I'm raising my twelve year old granddaughter since her mom died. so she gives me something to focus on.
Getting ready for my surgery has also given me something to deal with so that I don't sit and miss my daughter in m
y spare time so it's been a lifesaver in so many ways.

So sorry for your loss. I totally understand. I lost a 21 yr old son. It is so easy to dwell on the loss!  Try to remember the good things and try every day to get your joy back. Things will never be normal again or the same. But you can be happy and healthy.
