Good morning my sistas!

I've just remembered that it's Friday and that means it's Trash Day!  'scuse me a minute while I get the trash out to the cans.  Be back shortly!

Whew!  Sorry 'bout that!  But I'm so glad I remembered before the truck came by!  (Got to get those stinky diapers out of the house, you know!)

I hope everyone is doing well today.  Trish, waiting to hear about your visit to the doctor.

Had a busy and productive day yesterday.  Did more work around the house, unpacking things, organizing, made another trip to the storage building.  It's getting better.

I also finally got my scarves mailed off to Austin for Special Olympics.  I made 5 this year.  Wanted to make more, but Benny has severely hampered my creative crafting time.

Last night Chris and I took the baby and went to Gruene to have dinner at the Gristmill.  Gruene (pronounced "Green") is this funky little village on the banks of the Guadalupe and the Gristmill is a restaurant in a--what else?--converted old gristmill.  I had a coupon for buy one dinner, get one free.  We both had the ribs.  They were delicious.  Benny ate a few bites of the meat, but mostly had a ball gnawing on the rib bones!  (Knick, knack, paddy whack, give a dog a bone!)  It was a warm and balmy evening and we had such fun getting out of the house for awhile.

I'm busy shopping on-line for new window blinds for this house.  I just can't stand these horrid old plastic mini-blinds from Wal Marts another minute.  Half of them don't work anyway.  I'm ready to replace them all and make new curtains.  So, have any of you ever had the faux wood blinds?  Or the real wood?  I'm looking at the 2" slats.  Any thoughts on which is better?  Right now I'm leaning towards the faux wood, but haven't really decided for sure yet.

I hear the baby stirring, so my time is about gone.  He's so funny.  He loves his new little toddler bed and he can get in and out of it by himself.  But he still won't open his bedroom door and come out when he wakes up.  Instead he stands inside his room and "knocks" on the door!  I get so tickled at him.

Love you all!

Good Morning Vickie and Family,
When I started to write the TGIF thread, there wasn't another Friday thread. When I hit submit, Vickie's thread was there. Sorry.

Doctor said the cast comes off in two weeks. I'm so thrilled. I won't be able to drive for two weeks, so Sean is coming from Pittsburgh to drive me to Michigan. I'm so happy.

Read my thread to see what else is happening.

Love,
Trish

Trish,  Hurray for the good news from the doctor!  You're right--just knowing the end is in sight has to help.  You can do it!

Morning all!

Trish so glad to hear your cast is coming off in 2 weeks...YAY!!!

Vickie, I have 2 inch faux wood blinds, they clean easy, don't warp and in 2 years have had no problems.

Yesterday I got the protein cheese sauce from Unjury...boy is it good. I put it on cauliflower and broccoli  last night. It taste like the sauce on Kraft Mac & Cheese. We have gift cert. for 2 movie tickets and a $25 lunch cert. so going to lunch and a movie today. We're going to see the Hobbit..Steve's choice.

Thoughts and prayers for all,

Debbie

Thanks Debbie and Connie!  I just finished measuring all my windows.  I need to order blinds for 10 windows.  I guess I'll go ahead and bite the bullet. I would like to have them arrive before Butch gets home.  Then he can help me install them before he has his knee surgery and gets laid up.

I've decided on the faux wood in natural.  I think the dark wood colors are pretty, but I'm not a very enthusiastic duster.  The natural wood color won't show dust as much.  I'm getting the wider slats: 2 1/2 inches.  It's going to cost a pretty penny, but window coverings are always expensive.  You all just cannot imagine how horrid the window coverings in this house were!  Ugh.  I've replaced the ones in my bedroom and Christie's bedroom already, but now it's time to do the rest of the house.

Connie, I hope you feel better soon.  Debbie, I haven't tried any of the Unjury products, but the cheese sauce sounds good.  I'll have to check into it.

Afternoon OFF family....

Well we are once again getting that crappy white stuff!!! Calling for 2-5 inches depending on which station you listen to. Then come monday supposed to be near 50* and rain? Yippee!!! :-/ Can you tell I am excited? LOL

Yesterday I had dentist appointment for my crown. All done one trip! amazing!! Only thing that really hurts is where the needle went in so many times to numb it!!! Used ice packs last night and I also found a vicodin and drank some hot tea. Helped alot. So now that I am $376.50 in the hole...hahaha my mouth is ok. I am done til its time for the next cleaning. Rick still has a couple fillings to go yet plus the crown so he is looking at close to $600.00 guessing. Not happy but what are we to do about it? There goes his income tax refund this year!!!! He is not happy about that at all. Oh well that is life!!! I am not paying it for him!!! I have my own bills to pay!!!

Going to start another afghan this weekend. This one is for his aunt. She is going to pay me for it. OK. Not charging her alot but some. Rick said I should because she is a witch. She never did me wrong...So there. Gives me something to do anyhow.

Well lunch is over so best get back to work doing nothing. Guys are cleaning snow I am sitting in my office doing word search puzzles. WOW huh? LOL Started another recert this morning but nothing came back yet on it. Figures.

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

Back to work today ... bad weather was forecast south of us, sleet, freezing rain, etc., but nothing for us. Sunny and chilly (33) not all that bad. Slept well last night under two covers and one cat. All nice and cozy.

Not much going on here. Got five more boxes unpacked last night ... it's going slowly but it's the best I can do, especially after shopping yesterday.

Well, time for lunch. Have a good day.

Hi Everybody!

Vicky - I would kill, yes literally kill to be able to eat some ribs now.  I won’t be to attend the grandsons birthday lunch Sunday.  I wouldn’t able to eat or stand the pain of being in my favorite steak house either.  Not to mention grossing all the dinners out with my ugly, bloody drain hanging from my side.

My grandson moved into a grown up bed when he was $1000 and that is just half and It takes two trip each time.

Vickie – Glad the weather held for your area.  It was accident city here they last few days.  Good job unpacking.

Well, I’m 3 days post-op from the sleeve.  I can say even though the surgeon had a lot to do from cleaning up from the band removal on 9/4.  The surgeon that removed the band did just that.  He noted all the adhesions in the surgery report but, didn’t remove them.  The funny thing is I was upset when that surgeon left the center before he did my surgery.  The surgeon I ended up with is a much more of a perfectionist.  He cleaned everything up, than he made me a nice tight little sleeve.

I actually am having less pain and have taken less pain meds then when I got the band in or out.  Do to all he had to do for the revision he sent me home with my drain in.  Everybody else with virgin surgeries had theirs pull just before going home.  The home care nurse came today and evaluated me.  We both agreed I’m a big girl and take care of myself.  She answered all the questions on the care, dressing and bathing with the drain.  So I will be doing it myself.  Nobody is showing this fat girl.

I got in the shower tonight.  Got everything new including jammies and I feel like kicking but, well I maybe not kicking butt, but I got some very light cleaning done which made me feel human.

Hope all had a Great Day.

Piney!

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.
