Saturday Happenings
I'm tempted to do a happy dance. Mom is going home for a few days, so I get a break from her insanity. Thank God.
My sister is going to a Special Olympics basketball tournament for a little bit today. I will be reading, and crocheting for a while.
Have a blessed day.
Love and hugs,
Trish

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Morning Trish and all to come!
Yay!! Trish, enjoy yourself, you deserve it.
Connie, I hope this post finds you feeling better.
Well I tried a new recipe last night from http://allrecipes.com/
Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf, I added 1 extra egg and cut the hot sauce in half. but boy was it good. Served it with a 3 bean salad. My kids liked it also and told me I could make it again. I find free form on a baking sheet work best with ground turkey.
Steve got home at midnight, glad he's home. Just waiting to hear from Michael he went snowboarding yesterday, came home and went up to his apartment in Sac. He and his roommate Haley were having a end of winter break party at their place.
Thoughts and prayers for all,
Hope you all have a great weekend,
Debbie
Good morning Trish, Judy and Debbie! And all my OFF sistas!
Oh, Trish, the joy of solitude! I'm so happy for you today. It's about time you catch a small break. Enjoy your time alone, sweetie!
Judy, I don't know why things happen on the weekend either. Prolly the same reason they happen when Butch is 12,000 miles away. Murphy's Law, or something similar, I imagine.
Debbie, I like allrecipes.com too. Do you get their daily email? I get lots of good ideas from them. Can't say that I like ground turkey too much though. I am trying to eat less meat these days. They have a lot of good vegetarian recipes.
So today I have a little more painting to do in Benny's room, and then we'll start putting some of his new furniture together. It will be good to get some of the clutter out of the entry hall. Little by little I'm making progress. I hope to break out my sewing machine soon, and start sewing. I'm making new sheets for his toddler bed. I also plan to make some new curtains for inside here.
My shoulder feels okay this morning, but it's definitely telling me not to overdo it today. Sigh. I hate getting old. I could always do anything I wanted to do. Why does that have to change?
Benny has finally starting speaking in little sentences. I was worried about his language development, but then both of my girls talked early. He is obviously intelligent, but speech has been a long time coming. We are all such verbal people--I just didn't know what to think about my little monosyllable grandson! He's 2 1/2 years old. At that age my girls could tell stories and sing little songs and even make little jokes. Anybody else have a similar experience with your grands? Am I just a worry wart?
Well, that painting won't happen by itself. I have to paint the trim this morning before we move the furniture in there. At least I won't be painting up high over my head today. That's the part that really kills my shoulder.
Love you all!
Vic my ex husbands greatgrandson just turned 2 and he is NOT talking at ALL!! He POINTS and they get what he wants for him!!! They take him to drs and speech therapists etc...NOTHING is wrong with him...what part of it don't they get? MAKE him ASK for what he wants!!! Oh they don't want to make him BEG for what he wants!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes this is their first child....but give me a break already!!!!!!!!!!! This little boy is smart as a whip but will not talk because they don't give him a chance!!!! Happy that your little guy can talk great!!!!
HUGS
Good morning Trish and everyone....
Trish ....I am so happy you are getting a break.....you really need it!! Why does your mom think she needs to be there anyway? It sounds like it makes things so much worse for you. Enjoy every quiet moment to can get!
I wish I could say I am feeling better. I am as week as a kitten. This hacky horrible cough is wearing me out. The cough med helps some but not as much as I wi**** did. I spoke with my doctor this morning. I will be going back in on Monday if I am not better. She knows I want to be at home but maybe I can't. One day at a time.
Vickie....Benny will have plenty to say when the time comes....then you will wish he was quiet!! I am sure he is doing just fine. Some kids just start out at different times. I wouldn't worry. I can't wait to see pics of hear all about his new room!
Debbie....I like that recipe site too. I look at it for ideas quite often. I love ground turkey and hardly ever have beef anymore. Glad your family enjoyed the dinner.
Judy......YOU need a vacation!!! Sorry you are starting the year off with so many issues!! Hopefully things will settle down soon.
I can't remember who else posted....sorry I am not meaning to forget anyone.
I am going back to bed again. My friend just dropped off a RX for me.
Lots of love and many hugs to all.....connie d
Mom is still hanging around, other than this weekend, because I still can't put weight on my right foot. I can't do laundry, or cook a meal. Plus, I can't drive. I can use the microwave and boil water.
I'm also frustrated because my sister channel surfs. I'll just be getting into a show, and she'll change the channel. It's so frustrating.
Hugs,
Trish

My sister works nine hours a day and does a ton of overtime including weekends. Mom lives two hours away, and had originally planned to be here for Christmas only. When I broke my foot she decided to stay to take care of me.
My sister and I decided that Mom is a bully.
Thanks for understanding.
Hugs,
Trish

Hi Trish and my OFF family:
Glad you're getting a break from your mom, Trish. You need some R&R. Enjoy the quiet and sanity.
Vickie, doesn't it scare you when you hear about incidents like what happened in Algeria? I would be terrified ... I'll bet you want Butch back home right now and retired. I kept thinking about you through that ordeal.
Connie, you know I worry about you ... posted on your message. Hope you will be better.
Judy, you are having lots of issues. Yes, everything breaks down on the weekend. Don't I know it.
Can't remember who else posted ... something about a recipe? I like allrecipes.com too ... I also like this slowcooker site ... just printed something out today I want to try.
Last night at work was a pain and a half again ... stupid obit freelancer (same woman) was scheduled to do obits and by 8 p.m. we hadn't heard from anyone so my coworker started to call around. She finally was called and told she was doing them ... "Oh, I didn't know." Really? You don't know you're scheduled to work? How old are you that you can't check your schedule? So we didn't get obits until 10:30 and on the page until 10:45. Then I thought the pages were sent and out ... page designer says something to me at 11:30 ... "Why aren't the obit pages gone?" I thought my coworker had sent them ... he hadn't ... so I had to ship them out. I was working with a bunch of incompetents last night. Guy who does the business pages was supposed to print out the Sunday biz pages to proof ... he didn't, and then I had to quickly proof those and ship them out. Lots of issues with those. He dashes out of the office every night and leaves lots of problems in his wake.
OK, that's my rant. I wish they'd get rid of this obit freelancer. She is constantly making mistakes and screwing up. Everytime she works, it's a crisis.
Anyway, I should get in the shower, have lunch and get ready for work today. Have a good day.
