Good Morning Family,
I'm still hanging in there with Mom, and her incessant nagging. Argh!

I'm in the middle of my third book right now. The first two were set in today. This current book is set in late 19th century New York City.

My prissy pouch is feeling better today. I am glad for that. I hate when I feel like vomiting, and then spend 30 minutes with the dry heaves.

Today, a friend is coming by to drop off some books. I also ordered a few more books from Amazon. Later today, I have to go get bloodwork done. Just my regular INR for my Coumadin.

I think of all of you throughout the day, and consider all of you as family.

Love and prayers,
Trish

Trish - after your comment about 'nagging' it makes me wonder if I'm nagging Tom also? Caregivers try to be helpful and offer 'suggestions' ? But we can come across as Pains in the Neck.

We see the cardio surgeon today. I sure hope she has time to answer all my questions. Tom seems to be a tiny bit better and not in so much pain. His stamina is kaput but I guess that's to be expected.

I bug Tom about not eating. He's dropped 20 pounds in the past 3 weeks. Probably good but still worrisome.

He worries about my lack of eating too. A couple of bites and I'm full. The two doctors insist that there is nothing wrong physically so it must be mental. Since October there has been way too much stress and food doesn't feel good.  The mirror shows bones and baggy skin - not a pretty sight.

Hi Annette,
I appreciate your comments from a caregiver's perspective. Unfortunately, Mom has never accepted that my sister, Eileen who is 60, and I, age 55, are adults. The result is, we get spoken to harshly, as though we've been errant teenagers.

I'll keep you guys in my prayers.

Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish and Annette and all my OFF sistas!

Trish, I'm glad you feel better today.  I'm also glad that you can "escape" into a good book.  I don't know what I would do if I didn't have a book to read all the time.

Annette, I am still praying for you and Tom.  You have really been through such an ordeal.  I pray that both of you will recover your appetites for good, nourishing food.  Wish I lived close by and could bring you some dishes each week.  I know when I'm feeling sick or tired, the last thing I want to do is cook.

Got my sweet hubby off to the airport yesterday.  Now I have to wait 24+ hours to hear from him and know that he is okay.  With all the crazies in the Arab world, it's a little stressful for me to wait for word that he's made it to the rig without mishap.  I will be SO GLAD when he retires!

But, today is my day to start going room by room in this house and get things organized.  No more living with all these boxes.  I got all of Christie's crap moved into the storage building already.  Now it's time for me to go through MY crap.  I need to go through each box, unpack what I mean to keep here in the house and then repack the rest (hopefully in a smaller number of boxes) and move all of that to the storage building.  I simply cannot function in all this clutter.  I put it off for Christmas and while Butch was home, but now it's time to deal with it.

I also need to start on Benny's room.  I have the paint already.  I need to get his room painted.  His toddler bed was delivered a few days ago and is in a box on the back porch.  I need to get that assembled.  And I need to sew his new sheets, etc.  Lots of projects to keep me busy--and keep the blue funk away!

Wishing you all a good Monday and good beginning to the new week.  Love you all!

Good Morning Vickie,
So good to hear that you are staying busy by getting organized. I look forward to getting the rest of my belongings to Michigan and unpacking those boxes. As it turns out, my daughter has been unpacking the kitchen boxes, and putting things away there.

Have fun. Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish and everyone.....

Trish....glad you have plenty to read and lose yourself in that verses dealing with your mom all day!! Happy to hear that your pouch is feeling better too.

Annette.....I am praying you can get a bit more of an appetite back. I don't want you having medical mishaps along the way because you aren't getting in the nutrients you need. Tom losing twenty pounds in that short of time isn't good either. I am concerned about you both!! Love you!!

Vickie.....you amaze me....you are such a energetic person. I would have to hire someone to do all you do!! I can't wait to see pics on Benny's finished room!!

Not much happening with me today. My cold is so much worse. I have a horrible croupy cough. I have been in bed most all the time since I have been back home. I think I caught my daughter's cold. If it isn't better  in a couple days I will contact my doctor.

Wishing you all a wonderful day. Prayers for so many in need. A few extra special ones as well!

Love and hugs....connie d
