Good Wedmesday Morning
Good morning Carla and my OFF sistas!
Never had a chance to post all day yesterday. Only have a minute this morning. Butch has another doctor's appt this morning, this time with a new podiatrist. He has a terrible bunion that is going to need surgery, and since he's a diabetic, we also have to take really good care of his feet. Time to get established with yet another new doctor in this area.
It's rainy and chilly here this week. The rain is very welcomed. The chill is not!
Today we are going to rent a carpet cleaner and see if we can do a little something with these carpets to make them more bearable. We plan to replace them at some point this year, along with the rest of the flooring. But things are getting better in here. Still have more boxes to deal with, but not in the rain.
Thinking of Connie and Nic and praying for good news from Nic's doctors today. Hoping that Trish is doing okay with her foot and her mom. Bless your heart, Trish! Haven't heard from DebbieJean or Grammylew in awhile. Hope everything is okay with them.
Love you all!
Good evening OFF family, I'm tagging onto Vickie's note since she hasn't heard from me.
Nothing new with me, just very busy here at work and home. The weather here in MI is warming! Hubby even went fishing with his buddy in Muskegon yesterday. I now have fresh fish in my freezer! Yum!
Came into work early, I sing with the hospital choir. I think it's totally cool that they re-started the choir. I used to sing in the choir when I was working in IT dept, the director started it, we had mostly our dept. singing in the choir due to the pushing of our IT Director...but what the heck, we had fun and sang on the units to the patients during Christmas time and at local nursing homes. So this choir isn't quiet as saavy as the old one, but we are getting there. A couple of people who haven't sung since high school joined and are having fun. That's what I like, making work fun and finding your passion in life.
So tomorrow it's suppose to be in the 50's maybe. I think a nice long walk on my muddy roads is in order. I'll take my sheltie Ellie, she loves to go, go and go some more.
Hugs and prayers for all in need. Since I haven't been on here, gotta go look back some. I'm way behind! Ugh! Debbie
Good Morning OFF Family,
It is indeed cold and rainy here today, but since we are in such a bad drought I welcome the rain and put on a sweatshirt to ward off the cold and try no to complain. Of course, my kids say I complain enough for two or three people. LOL
Trying to make the decision to have knee replacement surgery or not. Just hate the thought but know it is definitely in my future. Guess doctor and I will decide what to do next week when I see him.
Vickie, how did you choose Dr. Holmes? I see Dr. Schulze with Northeast Orthopedic -- recommended by my PC. I did see a podiatrist in Dr. Holmes office. She fixed my Hammer Toe about 5 years ago.
Connie so glad you can be with Nic. I know how much he needs you!
Hugs and prayers to all, Sandra
Sandra,
I just did a bunch of research on the web and decided to try Dr. Holmes based on his reviews and his location. He's got an office in Garden Ridge on 3009 across from Wal Mart. That's a pretty easy drive for us from Canyon Lake. We liked him, but of course, I guess we'll know more after the surgery. He did get really wonderful reviews and the hospital he does surgery at (in SA, can't remember the name right now) had a 4 star (out of 4) rating for orthopedic surgeries.
I'll be very interested to hear what Dr. Schulze tells you. Good luck!
Vickie,
Dr. Schulze is just down the road from Dr. Holmes. He is located on Toepperwein next to the NE Methodist Hospital. If I have the surgery, I'll go to NE Baptist off 410. They have a program called the Joint Club. It is totally dedicated to recovery for joint surgery patients. I had my WLS in the same hospital. They, also, have a section there only for WLS patients. I like the idea of having a specific area for each condition. Staff seem very attuned to your needs in that environment. Sandra
Afternoon....woke this morning to rain here...and wind...sun is out now and snow is melting...hope we do not flood now!!! Keeping close watch on it!!!
Sitting around bored to tears with nothing to do bu****ch the snow melt...waiting on the mail to get here and hope he brings us petty cash checks so we can go shopping for things we need so they can do some work around here!!!
Lunch is over with and Bandit needs to go out so best get going...just wanted to stop in and say hello...so HELLO!!! :-)
Thoughts and prayers for ALL that need them.
HUGSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Carla and my OFF family:
Got home late last night (or early this morning, depending on your perspective), slept til nearly noon and don't have to go in til 4:30 p.m. today. It's my Friday! I'm really tired. Not wanting to move at all. Last night was strange ... didn't really have much to do ... had a talk with my boss when everyone was gone about how things were going, plus the blowup from the coworker on Monday. He said things were going to change with the coworker, who got himself in trouble. Good ... not the first time he ticked me off, but I just walked away from it. I think I've learned not to let these things upset me so much ... better living through chemistry (antidepressants seem to calm me, I don't blow up at the littlest things like I used to). I think this coworker needs something, too.
Anyway, I'm ready for a couple days off ... unpacking, etc. Maybe a movie.
Sandra, knee replacement is a big decision. I've gone through three such surgeries ... two on the right, one on the left.
Vickie, I've also had a bunionectomy, when I was much younger. And I was foolish to go out and cover football and field hockey on crutches not long after the surgery. Wouldn't do that now ... I took two days off from work and then went back. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I was young and hungry and thought if I did that, my employer would reward me. Well, that didn't work. I got kicked in the ass a few years later. So much for reward. Never did that again.
Anyway, got to get off the computer and get a shower and have lunch. Have a good day.
Well, we are on our way home from shopping and the bank. I needed healthy snacks, like yogurt, cheese and fruit.
Mom pulled one of her craziness things again yesterday. She was ranting and raving about stuff that happened four months ago, as well as stuff that happened when my 34 year old son was in high school. Argh. I'm not sure how much more I can take.
Hope Connie and Nic are getting good news.
Hugs,
Trish

I always live on a night shift schedule. I slept in even later today as I can't face the day on this stupid diet. Being on the liquid diet makes me so tired and out of sorts. So If I can't be nice I'm going to crawl back into my den!
I may have to go get my sister tomorrow from the hospital. My other sister was suppose to take her today. She never showed up(she was sick in bed with the flu and didn't realize what day it was.) If my other sister can't get her I may have to.
