Cold and overcast here...28* BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR chance of more snow this afternoon into tonight!! YUCK!!!!!!!!!!
Went to open the club houses and laundry rooms and man it is icy out there!!!! Rick is out salting and hope it works!!! Jason is sick with the flu so Rick is working alone. He is hurting so bad from all the snow cleaning its not funny!!! This white crap can stop soon!!!!!!!!!
No plans for tonight to celebrate...just staying home and probably take the tree down. Then tomorrow I have two more trees to take down. Yippeeeeeeeee.
That is about all for me. Nothing exciting happening at all.
Have a Safe and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

Today has me having Mom drive me to appointments and run errands. I'm not looking forward to navigating her, but have no choice, because I can't drive.
I'm happy to report that my belongings arrived safely in Michigan.
I hate being so dependent on my Mom and sister to drive the wheelchair to the bathroom.

Where the heck did the year go!!! Have a movie and lunch date with my husband today and watching tv tonight. Easy day...looking for Black Eyed Pea recipes for tomorrow. Figured I give black eyed peas a shot since it's suppose to bring you good luck all year.
Hope you all have a great day, be safe tonight. For those of you going out AAA gives free tows to any that's had to much to drink. Check your local area but it's been like that for years.
Thoughts and prayers for all,
Debbie
Okay Debbie and Judy (my sweet Yankee sistas!), according to Southern tradition, you have to eat black eyed peas for luck and greens (turnip, collard, mustard) for money in the New Year. Y'all want some recipes? We also usually have ham with ours, but I don't think that stands for anything in particular.
Judy, you are so funny, girlfriend! Black eyed peas are delicious! I've been growing them, shelling them, and eating them my whole life. And actually, there are many varieties--purple hull, crowders, black eyes, etc.
Anyway, you prolly won't have access to fresh peas, so you'll need to buy either the dried peas, canned peas or frozen peas. If I can't have fresh, I prefer frozen. Cook according to package directions, only you'll need to season them properly with a piece of raw bacon (put it in the pot with the uncooked peas), and plenty of salt and pepper.
You can eat any type of greens, even spinach or kale, I reckon. We like mustard or turnip greens the best. Collards are pretty strong. Again, we either grow our own or buy fresh at the store, but you might have to buy canned or frozen. You just cook them in boiling water with salt and pepper, but when you serve them, you need hot pepper sauce.
I have a great, fabulous, terrific soup recipe called "Pot Likker Soup" which I will post separately here in a minute. It combines peas, greens, potatoes and ham. It is delicious. I sent it into Paula Deen's magazine once and they published it! I usually make it on Jan 2nd, using some of the leftovers from New Years. Serve with hot cornbread. Yummy!
You and Rick have a good evening, you hear? Butch is running a bit late, but should be here in another hour or so. Can't wait!
Love ya!
Hi Everyone, it has been awhile since I have checked in. It has been a hard month. It is cold here. I am tired of walking on ice. My DH and I are having problems and the thought of starting over nauseates me. I need prayers this week. Hopefully 2013 will be better. Mona
