Happy Day after Christmas, OFF Family!
Hey, where is everyone? Can't believe no one has started the thread. Is everyone out shopping the after-Christmas sales?
Well, I made it home before the snow started here. Supposed to get 6-8 inches with blizzard like conditions here today. It's supposed to end by 1 p.m., enough time for the streets to get cleaned for me to get to work today. Still snowing now. About 11 p.m. or so last night, we had a power outage for about a minute or so, then the power went back on. Just long enough I had to reset all the clocks.
It was nice seeing everyone at home but nice to be back in my own bed and my own home with my kitty. Juliette snuggled with me a lot last night. She missed me, too.
So how was everyone's Christmas? I had a nice holiday ... talked to mom last night, and she is hurting a bit ... she had them take her out of the wheelchair and put her flat on her back for awhile. She does need to sit up, though, or she'll get pneumonia. My brother went to visit her, then was invited to his former in-laws' party in Wisconsin. They're a fun group, but their parties seem to never end. He had a good time, I'm sure.
Well, that's all from me. What's new with you?
Hi Eileen, glad you made it home for Christmas. Some of my kids were here earlier in the week. We went to a friends for dinner. I had a ball playing with her grands. 2 girls 6mos. & 17mos. My favorite ages. Then we came home & just relaxed. Have a few more places to go this week. My daughter turns 34 on Friday. My youngest will be 33 in January. Where does the time go?
Hope You all have a great week!! Nan

Connie I have no idea who these so called people are!!! His mom doesn't have a BIG head!!! She is small and petite...his step dad he MIGHT have a fat head due to the fact he doesn't work at all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SO today while I am at home in this GOD awful snow storm I am making them new hats in the biggest loom I have and if these are too big **** on them!!!!!!!!!!! I tried!!!!!!!!!!!! I am so sick of his family I could spit nails!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!
Right now we are under a level 2 and going to be level 3 soon I am sure....this snow is terrible!!!!!!!!!!! Can't keep up with it at all!!!!! Guys have been snowblowing since about 9 this morning and soon as they make a path its already covered and you can't see in front of your face!!!! Rick just said he has to go get more gas...I told him be very careful because it is level 2 now and its bad out there!!! His truck is not 4 wheel drive...so hope he is ok out there but glad the gas station is only a few blocks away!!!
Have fun with your BBF...I sure miss mine...its her loss though for being the way she is.

Hello everyone!
We are having a calm day today, although my little Benny Bop is sick! He has a bad cold. I thought he was coming down with something yesterday and sure enough, he woke up all stopped up and coughing this morning. Why do babies always get sick at Christmas?
Anyway, I have made the decision NOT to travel with with my husband tomorrow. Butch will be going back to Nacogdoches to finish up moving some outdoor things from the old house, and he'll attend his family's Christmas celebration on Saturday by himself. Benny and I will stay here. Of course, they will all think I'm mad over the wine/sangria issue, but I can't help that. I'm not going to drag a sick child 300 miles across Texas and that's all there is to it. Butch will be just fine on his own and Benny will do better to stay here at home with me.
Gave my mom a portable DVD player for Christmas and we just had our first "lesson" on it. Geez, I would snicker about it behind her back, except that that might be me someday! The last technology she used was the old VHS tapes. She kept asking how to rewind the DVD. LOL! I'm glad Carrie will be going home with her tomorrow. She can give her another lesson then.
Went to the bank this morning and deposited that big check from the sale of the house. I sure am glad to have that thing safely put away in the bank today. I've been a nervous wreck about losing it since last Friday. We will be paying off some notes, etc., before we invest the bulk of it, but that can all happen next week.
We were all so full of food yesterday that I didn't even cook the turkey breast and cornbread dressing. We had a simple dinner of sliced ham sandwiches and leftovers from Christmas Eve. So I'm cooking the turkey and dressing for our supper tonight. Of course, we had the leftover tamales for lunch today, and I'm so full again that nothing sounds appetizing right now. Too much rich food for me. My pouch isn't used to all of this.
I'm going to take a quick nap while Benny is down. I rubbed his little chest down with mentholatum and gave him another dose of medicine just before he went down for his nap. I hope he can breathe, poor baby. And I hope I don't get it!
Love you all!
Connie and Vickie...my 1 yr. old grandson was admitted last night with the same crap! Ugh! They discharged him this afternoon.
Good evening OFF family...and man it is snowing here... a belated White Christmas. On the way to work a truck flipped over by D Ave on 131. Roads started getting slick in Kalamazoo at the stop lights. I'm sure they will have it all taken care of when I get out at 11:30pm right??? Well I'm keeping my fingers crossed on that one...people forget how to drive on ice/snow. You wouldn't believe the jerks passing me on the highway.
So my grandson David is doing better now.
Jake my sweet dog is still with me. I think he's feeling better now.
Christmas Day was a quiet one for me and hubby, we just sat back, relaxed and watched TV. We didn't spend a lot on each other for Christmas but he got me a beautiful pick robe, underware and a new purple outfit (I love purple).
This Saturday we will be having another party...Holly is turning 2 (today is her birthday). I'm going to make chicken salad with the grapes and pecans in it. Easy to make and Holly's mommy loves the leftovers!
Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie
