Friday in Pennsylvania
Ah, the German in me would love it ... I figured New Braunfels had to be a German settlement. Love sausage. You, on the other hand, would love Frankenmuth, Mich., another quaint German settlement, with the world's biggest Christmas shop. Lots of fun. We had an OFF gathering one fall weekend there. The weather was perfect. Look it up online ... oh, and Bronner's does ship. They have their exterior decorations ...you know, the big display items ... up all year and light them at night ... it's really cool.
Eileen,
That's interesting. Schlitterbahn has a year round Christmas store in NB, too. I haven't ventured in there. I don't need to buy more Christmas! It was all I could do to pack up what I already have.
I consider myself to be mostly Scotch-Irish, but my g-gfs on my Mother's side were both German immigrants. Must be why I love oom-pah-pah music so much! LOL!
I once had Christmas cards wishing people a Merry Wassail...and I handwrote below " hope you don't wake up next morning wondering "whatsailing me" ...it's like a spiced hot mulled wine or fruit drink, with lots of rum, brandy or wine or schnapps (depending where you come from in Europe)...helps make people feel merry on a cold night
