Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.

Good Morning and Happy Thanksgiving Everyone,

Well, I just got the turkey in the oven.  It should be done between 12:00 and 1:00.  I made the cranberry sauce yesterday.  Before the turkey is done, I'll make the gravy base, and then add the drippings after I take the turkey out of the pan.

I also have to set the table, and put some last minute touches on the tidying.  Nothing major, just dusting the dog hair from the floor.  Utley has a house guest.  My son, and his girlfriend, drove in from Pittsburgh with her dog, Shuka.  The kids are staying at my in-laws', and they have two cats, and they can't afford a kennel.  Besides, they dogsit for me when I go to Michigan.

I have a ton of things to be thankful for.  I often make lists and send them to my Spiritual mentor.  Ruth, has helped me so much in my Christian growth, and once she challenged me to make a daily gratitude list, and send it to her.  I did that for a month, and it snapped me out of a pretty bad depression.  The most important things I am grateful for are my relationship with God, my kids, and my friends here and in my daily life.  Material things mean nothing to me compared to relationships.

Have a blessed day.

Hugs and love,

Trish

Good morning Trish and Jo and all my wonderful OFF sistas!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all.  I hope your day is filled with friends and family and, of course, some good food.  Just not too much!  LOL!

It is an absolutely gorgeous day here in the Hill County.  Not cold, not hot--just absolutely wonderful.  Just perfect for taking a nice long walk after our meal.

I've got to get started on my preps soon.  I brined my turkey breast overnight.  Fixin' to pop a pan of cornbread in the oven for my cornbread dressing later on.  My menu is really pretty simple this year, which makes for an easy relaxed day.

Wishing I could have each and every one of you over today.  You all mean so much to me!

Love you all!

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

Just a short note to say happy Thanksgiving. I have to work today so I need to get ready to go soon. I spent sometime talking with my brothers, SIL and my mom. Mom isn't going to dinner ... she doesn't feel well. My brother Gary thinks she has something more going on than the UTI and a pulled muscle. The pain she has is on the same side as her breast cancer ... he is going to insist she see her doctor and get a mammogram (which she is due for anyway). He's going with her and going into the exam room with her. She's not eating well at all, either, so you know she's not feeling well because Mom is a good eater.

I went to see "Lincoln" yesterday ... great movie, you should all see it. Very powerful film.

Well, I have to go get in the shower and get dressed for work. My employer is feeding us today so I won't talk much with to eat. I had a protein bar for breakfast and some coffee. I ate too much yesterday ... so much turkey that I made I thought I would burst (which of course means upchuck) ... I had to have some peppermint tea before it went down. I really didn't think I had that much but obviously it must have been.

Anyway, this has gone on too long. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. I am thankful I have a good job to go to.

Happy Thanksgiving OFF family!!!

Not much happening here just the two of us here. I did invite a couple of our tenant friends for dinner but they changed their minds...one went to her daughters and the other went to the VFW to eat...whatever. Means we didn't have to get fancy here. Made up a plate to take over to the 93 year old lady across the street and just as I was wrapping it up her daughter came to pick her up...so now it is waitng for her to come back home. She was tickled yesterday when I took her some of my birthday cake.

Lost out on $309.00 yesterday for not signing the book at the VFW! Meant to go and sign the book but made my birthday cake and forgot to go and sign...oh well...would have paid for trip home for Christmas...sighs. Going tonight to see if they pull my name on the weekly drawing. Keeping fingers crossed for that one...its $500.00. Also for the monthly on the 1st...that one is about $2,000.00. Now that would be nice to win!!

Sitting here watching football Lions are doing pretty good for a change...shhh I might have just jinxed them now...lol.

Off work til monday ahhhhhhhhhhh. Nope NOT going out for Black friday at all!!! I MIGHT put the trees up tomorrow IF I feel up to it. Right now I do NOT feel like doing anything but sitting on my butt relaxing.

Well back to making hats again...lol hope you are all enjoying your Thanksgiving holiday!!!

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!

HUGS

Post Script: Just to let you all know how my two new dishes turned out.  We did NOT like the sweet potato gnocchi at all!  Ugh.  Gave it to the deer.

The butternut squash risotto was a lot of work.  How on earth do you peel those suckers?  Anyway, it tasted fine, but we all decided that we prefer broccoli, cheese and rice casserole for our holiday meal.

Oh, and my turkey was the bomb.  The brine I used this year was quite excellent.  And you just cannot go wrong with cornbread dressing and cranberry sauce.  I could live on that for months.

So, it was part good, part okay, and part not good.  That's a pretty good average for me.  LOL!

Now for a nice turkey induced nap!

Good evening Trish and OFF family, read everyone's post and sounds like we are all having a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Hubby and I went to the casino for Thanksgiving dinner at 11:30am, we didn't gamble, it's just too smoky there, even the resturaunt part is smoke free but it still smells like smoke in there too. The food was good and I only ate not even 1/4 of the meal and took the rest home.

Now I'm at work and we are having a real Thanksgiving potluck with all the fixings. Gotta stay out of the lounge I tell ya! LOL

Tomorrow I picked up the day shift so it's going to be a short night for me, get home at midnight and be back here at 0700. Oh well I'll take a nap tomorrow when I get home.

I'm going to take Eileen's advice and go see Lincoln tomorrow.

Hugs and prayers for all in need and safe travels! Debbie
