Nov 22: Today I am thankful for . . .
So, Happy Thanksgiving to everyone today! This will be the last post for the thankfulness game this year. Thank you to everyone who participated.
Today I am thankful for my life and my family and my friends. No one's life is ever perfect (and wouldn't THAT be boring!), but mine is as happy as I choose to make it. I am blessed to have many wonderful people in my life who love me and care about me, warts and all. I am equally blessed to have the privilege of loving and caring for them, too, warts and all. Sometimes our relationships get messy and tangled, but underneath all the mess is a constant and undying love for one another. Can't ask for more than that.
I am thankful for the steadfast love between my husband and me. No matter what life throws at us, we are in it together. We each have absolute trust in each other, and we know that we are very lucky. Our home together is a safe haven, and not everyone has that.
I am also thankful for a relationship with a loving God. I am far from perfect in my Christian life, but I do believe in God and his mercy. I know he hears and answers prayer. And I try to live my life by the Golden Rule. I believe God loves us and wants the best for us, always.
And lastly I am thankful for the wonderful friendships we have nurtured here on OFF. It's amazing how strong the bonds have become in such a short time. Just the fact that we come here and share little snippets of our daily lives with one another is an act of trust and loyalty that truly surpasses the bounds of ordinary friendships. I have many friends in "real" life, but very few that I can share my heart with the way I do with you all here. I am grateful for the love and support that I find here on OFF that goes beyond our common bond of WLS. I count each of you as a close friend and I hope you can feel the same about me.
So, today I am thankful. My heart is full with peace and joy. Wishing each of you the same today. Love you all!

Today I am thankful for spending another Thanksgiving with all my kids. God has truly blessed me with a loving, caring, and sharing family. We gave thanks for our many blessing and drank a toast to my departed husband (hot toddy's for all - sugar water for the kids) - a long-time family tradition.
My prayer for each of you is that you each had a blessed holiday with family and friends.
