Happy Monday!
Hello my OFF family:
I'm going to start off because I didn't get to post Sunday. Got off work a little earlier Sunday, which was good because it was my Friday and I was pooped. Toward the end of the night, I started getting a headache ... one coming from the back of my neck and on the left side of my face. I didn't want to take anything because I knew I could go home soon. So I toughed it out.
The old ladies in my mom's neighborhood aren't doing so well. First there's my mom's neighbor across the alley ... she broke her pelvis awhile back and still hasn't ventured out of the house. She's still doing PT and using a walker. Then there's Mom, who has another UTI ... but it took five hours at the hospital ER to diagnose it. The last thing they did, my brother said, was a urine test. Duh! The first thing my brother said was that she had this before, it's probably a UTI. So they did x-rays, a CT scan, heart tests, bloodwork ... everything but the most obvious ... until a nurse asked the doctor if anyone got urine. Then there's the hoarder in the other block ... she has congestive heart failure ... she was going out and was in the garage when she lost feeling in her legs. She lay there for a long time before someone found here. She's in the hospital. These are all women in their late 80s or early 90s. Tough times for all of them ... I grew up with these ladies in the neighborhood, and they're the last ones of my mom's "club".
Not much going on here. I have three days off ... Wednesday is for Thanksgiving. Today, my cleaning lady/personal assistant is coming over and helping me pack. Tuesday, I have PT and I have to get my hair cut. Wednesday, I may go see "Lincoln". Haven't been to a movie for awhile. I really need my hair cut. We are getting dinner at work on Thursday, compliments of the company. I think that's nice.
So what's new with you? I think I'm going to bed, do my PT exercises, read for awhile. Have a good day, I'll check on y'all later.
Hello, everyone!
Happy Monday!
I had a rough day....all week. But I am starting to feel less pain this evening/morning and maybe I can sleep now. I can hear a pack of coyotes yelping and howling outside, fairly close, and Zeus, out 180 pound rottie is guarding his property and our feral cat community here. Likely the cats are inn their “cathouse” that JB made for them or in Zeus’s special doghouse insode the barn…yes, they share sleeping spaces…lol.
I have just completed and mailed a letter, an application for the use of a local privately-owned park, for our EMPOWERED WOMEN event next August, added three long files of information about our group, about how we will use the proceeds from this event( to feed our foster daughter & her village with goats and chickens and perhaps even 2 cows and to mentor young women in leadership and empowerment) and another file with a multitude of questions about the park & their facilities so that I can decide where to set the vendors, where to pout barricades for parking, for the wine-tent and the beer tasting tent, where to place our Yoga in the park activity, the Estatic Dance sessions, the walking labyrinth sessions, the luncheon tables and the display areas.. Also where to set up the ticket table, the huge barrels for non-perishable food items for the local Food Banks, the door prize tables, the podium, the networking tables, where to park the radio station truck and announcers, and the St John’s Ambulance tent in case of medical issues.
I also have to figure out how to print huge posters that list the day’s agenda and also have sign-up sheets for the various workshops too. So many things to deal with. Once I get the final price for renting the park, I should know this week, I can decide what to charge the vendors for tables and spaces. I am also about to confirm the luncheon that a local catering business promised to donate. I had expected about 200 women to attend but I suspect that perhaps almost double that will be participating…wow!!! We will have many out-of-town guests! In that vein, I managed to book a block of rooms at the local Hilton Garden Inn, just half a mile from the park at a great discounted price so people can attend our event and stay the night then visit the wineries before heading home. I have most of the permits and will slowly continue to work my way thru the list of tasks needed for the event in August of next year.
I started early to work with performers who go on tour with their music and to get all the permits before I could define a set date and to start inviting performers and vendors. Also, starting so early gives me a cushion of time so that, if I’m having a rough week, I can afford to back off a bit without panicking about losing time.
Monday will be a slow day at home but JB and I, both Dan & Derek, Dan’s wife, Amy and Derek’s lady, Kathy, are all meeting for a birthday dinner for JB at the Outback Steakhouse. I managed enough cash to buy three special gift certificates for six people. I do not have any cash coming in anymore and I didn’t want to use the MasterCard because that means it comes out of our joint account and JB should NOT have to pay. So I managed to sell a few pieces of artwork to buy the certificates.
Well, it is now almost 2:30 am Monday morning and I’m headed back to bed to try again. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

I'm at the lab, waiting to get my PT/INR done. Then I have an appointment across the hall to get the results. The waiting room is packed. Argh!
Later I go to my family doctor to get discharged from my accident injury. I'm going to ask for a copy of the discharge paper to Fax to State Farm. Then, I am going to my agency to send it. They let members use the Fax for important stuff. I hope to get an idea how much of a settlement they'll offer today or tomorrow.
Then, this afternoon I'll spend a few hours volunteering.
Oh, before my doctor appointment I have to swing by the Salvation Army to drop off two huge trash bags of clothes. Then, if there's time, I need to stop at the store for some groceries for Thursday.
I hope everyone has a blessed day.
Hugs,
Trish

Whhooooo Eileen!!! So glad you got the apartment you wanted! Now just rest some so that darn headache doesn't return.
Got my grocery shopping done today b/4 I came to work. Hubby was busy down in his workshop making homemade toys for the grandkids for Christmas. He made one truck and a roadster...made it from his head, no plans to follow. He sure is something! I told him I wanted a real roadster, he just laughed. Then I said make it a convertable will ya?...hey a gal can dream right?
I'll be working for the next 11 days straight. Just counting my blessings that I have a job here in Michigan! Besides I really love my job, look forward to coming into work. Now if I can just win that lottery!
Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie
