TGIF in Pennsylvania
Hi Trish and my OFF family:
Getting on here really late but haven't posted for a couple of days because I've been so busy. Yesterday, I had a dentist appointment .... didn't need crowns on my cracked teeth, just fillings, so that was good. Then I went to look at a couple of apartment complexes ... one I got to see, one I didn't because the manager wasn't in (I didn't make an appointment, so it was my own fault). Today, I had PT, then stopped off to pick up my prescription from the doctor for my pain meds, then to Walgreens to get it filled, then went to the apartment complex's Halloween party (wasn't much, but it was free food). A guy there said he could cut down my cane that was too high, so he did that. He lived across the parking lot from me. I'm pooped and want to sleep but it's too early.
Trish, you can't get love out of someone who won't give it. I've given up getting my mom to accept who I am. She never has accepted that I didn't turn out the way she wanted: I didn't get married, have kids, live a traditional life. So what? I gave up on her accepting that I did what I wanted to do. I am what I am; she has to love me as I am.
Anyway, nothing to do this weekend or Monday, but I must continue PT; I got to 110 degrees flexion on my bent knee today ... need to get to 125, so I'm well on the way. I was able to ride the recumbent bike for seven minutes (seemed like more) and I did it fairly fast for someone who had knee replacement less than a month ago. Therapist wants me to ditch the walker and walk on my own or use the cane, hence the need to get it cut down a bit. So I'm using it at home and practicing with it.
So I'm beat now and probably will go to bed soon to watch "Blue Bloods" and read for awhile before going to sleep. It's 47 degrees here and has rained most of the day.
Have a good day. Hopefully I'll get on here earlier tomorrow.
Hi all Trish I have the same mother. I spent years working thru it. But last year I had to just walk away.
Laureen what an inspiration you are. Happy five years!
Eileen hope PT is going well for you.
Middle DD is having her annual Halloween party tomorrow.
The grandson walked into my room a little while ago covered in blood. The little guy wakes up with a nose bleed. Gets up in a dark room walks thru a mostly dark house to the living room. Finds his can of “boogie wipes” Walks back thru a mostly dark house with his “boogie wipes” so I can take care of his nose. He is such a sweet thing. Any of the others would have just woken up screaming for me to come running thru a darken house to take care of them. (I would for sure have broken something.)
He is so precious to me.
Have a good rest of your night.
