TGIF in Pennsylvania
Good Morning Family,
I am finally home. Mom and I fought for over an hour right before Pittsburgh, and again, right before getting home yesterday. She told me I was lying about something I wasn't, and it got ugly. I was so upset. She is crazy, and my therapist keeps reminding me that I am not going to get the love and acceptance from her that I have never gotten.
Today, I'll be unpacking and doing laundry, as well as stocking up on supplies for Hurricane Sandy. She's supposed to hit our area early next week.
Must go. Hugs and prayers for all.

Good Morning Trish, OFFr Friends. . .
When we have a contentious relationship with our parents, it is so hard to wrap our minds around it, as somehow society makes us believe that parents should have unconditional love, unfortunately, that is often not the truth. I wish you find peace with your's and your Mother's relationship, I had a very contentious one with my own, but luckily we managed to change it the last 7 years of her life.
I have been extremely busy working on a project at work, so not much time to pop in here and because what I do all day is computer related, once I get home, I don't spend a lot of time on the computer these days. . .
Last week was my 5th surgiversary and I did not acknowledge it due to my workload and what not. . . it's been a real adventure and life today is fuller than ever, thanks to my ability to move about without carrying around a 7/8 year old all the time. . . I am only 12 lbs. more than I was at my 1st year post-op, so despite my thinking, I am living a successful WLS post-op life. . .
Anyway, today has me working on this darn project at work and after work, it will be an AA women's meeting and the diner afterwards. . . other than water, I'm prepared for Sandy and I have asked my roommate to pick up 3 cases of water, figuring, one case for each person should get us through if this storm lives up to the hype. . .otherwise I have plenty of non-persishable foods in the house.
Ok, I'd best get with the program here. . . I'm out of touch with what all is going on with my friends here and no time right now to catch up, but suffice it to say, you are thought of regularly and always in my positive thoughts and prayers.
Hugs, Laureen

Laureen:
Happy surgiversary! It's an important day to remember, a day that changed our lives.
Wanted to tell you about a friend of mine who is moving to the Jersey shore area and working at the Monmouth County Humane Society. She also had WLS and we met in Grand Rapids. Don't know if that's anywhere near you because I'm not that familiar with the area. If it is and you would like to meet her, let me know and I'll pass her name along. She's a wonderful person, and you as a dog lover would enjoy her.
Monmouth County is about 50 miles from me, but I'd be happy to welcome her to NJ. . . is she originally from the East? or Grand Rapids area? Anyway, PM me her info and I'll give you mine via PM as well. . .
Thanks for the kind words Eileen. . .

Good Morning Trish, Laureen & those to come,
I'm up early which is unusual for me. There is a glorious nip in the air here in Texas. Yeah!!!
Trish, so sorry about your relationship with your Mom. Stay strong. You are such an inspiration to me and are loved!
Congratulations on you anniversary Laureen. What an accomplishment 5 years is!
I'm off to vote early today. Don't want to miss this very important election. Then off to New Braunfels to celebrate my son's 36th birthday (a little early). He was born on election day in 1976. My doctor's first question when I arrived was, "Did you vote!". He was wearing a tie that was a good five feet long that said vote from top to bottom. Since I was 3 weeks passed due, voting was not the first thing on my mind. I was blessed that day with a healthy 9 lb 13 oz son. He has grown into such a wonderful man, thanks in a large part to his father who was an exceptional man! What a proud mother I am!
Hope everyone has has a restful and joyful weekend.
Love to all, Sandra
Good morning, Trish, Laureen, and Sandra! And all my OFF sistas!
Trish, I'm glad you made it back home safely. So sorry about your mom, but it's not your fault. Maybe it's not her fault either. It just is what it is. At least you can separate from each other. That's part of the problem with Chris and I. Too much togetherness.
Laureen, congratulations on your 5th surgiversary! I have been missing your posts. I'm glad all is well with you.
Sandra, sometime when you are coming up to NB, let me know and maybe we can meet for lunch. Enjoy your son's birthday today.
Our promised cold front arrived and it's nice and cool here this morning. Lots of rumbling and black clouds, so I guess we're going to get some rain with it. Butch is outside trying to get the mowing finished before the rain arrives. I don't mow the yard here. We're on a hill and I am NOT going to push that mower up and down a hill! Besides, I can't ever start the darn thing. Give me a tractor any day. That I can do.
Well, we finally had an offer on our house yesterday, but it's waaaay too low. $50K lower than our asking price. We countered back last night, coming down $5K on the price, but my husband is pretty adamant that that's as low as he's willing to go. So, the ball is in their court. We'll see what happens next.
Not much else to report. I'm just enjoying having Butch home again. So is Benny. He's Papaw's boy, through and through. So sweet to watch them together. I love it.
Love you all!
Afternoon OFF family!!!
Been keeping busy trying to find a good replacement for the one I fired! FINALLY (I HOPE) we found one!! So far he has been here earlier than me going to open up!!! LOL He likes it here and is enjoying the jobs he is given to do!! WOOHOO!!! NOW...IF he keeps this up for the 30 days probation he HAS this job!!! Boss was here yesterday and got to meet him and she also like him. Another notch in his chart for the good!!! :-)
Trish, try not to dwell on the fight with your mom...Sometimes being around people that you are not normally with starts fights! Back when my mom, sister and myself went up north to mackinaw bridge for 3 days, by the end of the second day we all were on each others nerves!! LOL Pray that this storm isn't what they are calling for!!! Be safe!!!
Laureen...CONGRATS on your surgiversary!!! You are doing great!!!
Vicki that was an insult to have them offer 50K LESS for your house!!! Hope they reconsider and take your offer!!!!
Crud!! CR**** and now I can't remember who else posted that I wanted to post back to!!!! GRRR
We are getting some misty rain right now and hard telling what is coming yet with this cold front and hurricane!!! Temps are falling FAST!!! Yesterday it was near 80* and now its down to 47* BRRRRRRR Rick wanted to mow the grass on other complex today before it hit but that doesn't look like it will happen now!! Leaves are coming down fast also in this wind.
Went to the dentist late afternoon yesterday...I need another crown on top right last tooth...waiting to hear from insurance to see what they will cover on their part. Rick hasn't had his teeth cleaned in years and has some problem with his gums that they will have to knock him out for and take care of...another wait on the insurance...and he also has a cracked tooth that he goes back on the 13th to have that fixed. Seems everyone wants our money that we do not have!!! BUT we LOVE this new dentist we are seeing!!! :-) Reminds me of one I had back in saginaw!!! Loved him too!! Got back home and had a call on answering machine a toilet was overflowing all over her bathroom!!! Rick flew over to her apartment, he called me said to get the guy with the snake here ASAP!!!!!!! OK...called him hand he got here in about 5 minutes!!! Pulled the cap off and wella!!! Wipes and Paper towels!!! SO letter going out to that whole building on them throwing wipes and paper towels in the toilet!!!!!!!!!!! Glad we got home when we did!! GEEZZZ.
Well best get back to work and maybe leave early today. So worn out...not a chance to rest much it seems...lol
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!
HUGS
Hi Trish and everyone,
Trish: Sorry about the fighting your Mom is causing. Lauren, Vickie, and Judy: glad to catch up with you. Sorry if I missed anyone. I have very little brain function yet. Lol I begged my PNP to let me go back on my Ritalin but he said "No." Said it was contributing to my Manic episodes. I don't think so. I've been on it forever and a day. Oh well, it is what it is.
Sorry I am not here much any more. I'm without a computer most of the time I pet sit. I've been home since Monday, but spending way to much time on Facebook. I also need to have this computer worked on but can't afford it. Living without credit cards is tough. Can't wait for my check to come in. I'm working all but 4 days starting November 1st through December 7th. I'm sure I'll be ready to sleep in my own bed by then, but think of the money!!!!!!
Everyone have a blessed day. Hugs, Mag
Good evening Trish and everyone....
I am just popping in to say hello. I woke up at 10:30AM after cleaning the house from 1:00AM to 3:30AM. I got to sleep about 5:00AM.
IMMEDIATELY upon getting up my sister started in about her missing lamps. OMG!! She doesn't even want them. She just wants to know where they are. They are old and no one would want them. Maybe they got put in my storage. Things were such a mess when I got here. Trying to clean all her crap out of my bedroom and subzero temperatures didn't help. My moving people were freezing their butts off running in and out. We had to just put things where they would fit. That day is a total blur!! I got dressed right away, brushed my teeth, and went over to my friend Pam's. We then spent another 5 hours working on cleaning out her mom's apartment. We took things to her nursing home room and put a bunch of it in my storage unit and Pam's garage.
I was supposed to go out tonight with friends. I am taking a hot shower and going to bed!!!
Sorry to be whining......I keep praying and begging to GOD for a place for me to live. Guess he hasn't decided where or when yet!!
I thought my sister was changing....OH HELL NO!!!
I did do one fun thing today. I wrote out and sent Halloween cards and treats to my grandchildren and daughters. I NEVER miss a year. Can't forget Halloween as it is my daughter's birthday too. My sister said I am crazy, once kids grow up they don't need things like that. I do it because I love them and it makes me feel good. WE all like things like that....DUH!!! She could never understand that!!
Wishing you all a good evening! I will be praying for all those in need.
Love and Hugs
to all.....connie d
