Good morning all
Hi Nan and my OFF family:
Nan, so good to see you online. And to hear your son is out of the Army and headed home. I know how much you have worried about him.
PT yesterday was rather painful, even though it was just an evaluation. First of all, using the cane was a bad idea. It was very windy and I had a lot of problems walking with the cane. I was in a lot of pain by the time I got up to th PT windows, and then there was a line to check in. I got checked in and sat down to wait for my therapist. Then I had to walk to the back. I got chewed out for using the cane and not using it correctly. Got to put it in my right hand ... which leaves me using my left hand for everything else. I'm right handed, so that is awkward for me.
The therapist who evaluated me complained about my swelling ... I told her this happened with my right knee. So she put compression stockings on, but this time two different sizes, one for my lower leg, one for the knee area. I still had to take it off at bedtime because it was cutting into my thigh. Then, at the end of the session, she had me lie on my back with my legs in the air and ice on my knee. It actually burnt and hurt so bad I had to ask her to put the table down a bit so I wasn't at such a severe angle.
So I'm back using the walker. Probably shouldn't have tried the cane so soon. No plans for today, just sleepy and want to relax, do my PT exercises. I had a nice chat on the phone with an old friend from Aberdeen, S.D., Ron, who was my boss at the paper there. He has lung cancer and retired last year. I really liked Ron ... he was a gruff guy but sweet. He smoked when I got there but gave it up cold turkey when the paper said employees couldn't smoke on the grounds, even in their cars.
Well, that's all for me today. Have a good day.

Hi everyone, I just want to say thank you for all your support & replies.I am really giddy right now. Yes, this my son Jamie, who is Morgans dad. Next week he will drive to New York to Morgan to Sloan Kettering. They are doing a few treatments I believe for preventative measures. Her tumor is not in a place where it can be biopseyed( sp)
They think is has killed itself off. We can only pray & hope.
Again, thankyou all so much. Prayers for all!!! Nan
