WHAT'S HAPPENING SUNDAY?????
Its a chilly 40* here this morning BRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!! Slept pretty good but poor Rick is so sick with a cold/flu and that cough he has omg!! He has been sleeping on the couch last couple nights so he doesn't give it to me. I feel so bad for him!
Chili Cook-off went pretty good yesterday...had 8 cooks do thier chili...ended up with a tie so had everyone re-taste those two and one won by a landslide!!! LOL So with the bake sale and 50/50 we made $100.00 more for the tenant fund!!! So now I can go shopping for some door prizes for our Holoiday dinners...wooohoooo!!!!!!!!
Went to the VFW last night for the monthly drawing...no luck winning that either...stayed to play Bingo...waste of money I didn't have!!! GRRRRRRR Why do I do that?? Boredom??? Yeah. Anyhow Carol and I went to sit at a regular table as the chairs feel better to sit on for long periods...anyhow there sits Randy and his girlfriend and his dad and one of our ex tenants!!!!!!!!! They sit there for a few minutes after we sat down and they get up and moved to a different area!!! LMAO Guess we stunk or something...lol but I am thinking they couldn't talk about me that close...today is Randys birthday and he won last night so now I am wondering if he will come to work tomorrow. No big deal if he doesn't...we have the new guy starting!!! LOL Oh the joy of the fireworks when he sees this new guy actually working here!!!! LOL I can't wait to say those famous words from Donald Trump!!! YOU'RE FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Will I feel bad that he has no job? NO! Why? Its his OWN fault he lost it not mine!!!!!
Today down the road from us is an open house at some cabins...they will be having an Elvis impersonator there...now this guy really looks like Elvis...LOL heard he is also excellent...name is Todd Miller. So I will be going with Carol to check him out seeing that Rick is sick and should stay home getting better!
Learing how to make hats on a loom. Having a blast!! Need to get my own looms now so Carol can have hers back. Need to learn how to make scarves also so I can make a set. Guess what gifts are going to be for Christmas this year?? LOL
Well it is time to get some work done around here like cleaning up yesterday mess leftover in the kitchen from my chili making....omg what a mess in there!!! I should have stayed home last night and cleaned but wasn't in the mood...so it HAS to be done today before I can do ANYTHING else!!!
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!
HUGS
Judy....glad the chili cook off went well....the "weirdos" must have not showed up...LOL!!!! Sorry you didn't win at Bingo and a$$wipe did!! Have fun at the "Elvis" event!!
Why is it that you are keeping Randy there?? This new guy can't be any worse then he is!! Rick will be talking bad to the residents and making it hard for the new guy. Especially if Rick is too sick to work. I say FIRE him in the morning! Just my opinion!!
I went out with friends yesterday and last night. We had so much fun!!! It was good for me to get out of the house. This afternoon at 3 the VIKINGS play. Can't wait to join my friends for the game!!! Win or lose I still love that team!!
Wishing you all a really beautiful day. I almost froze yesterday I had on 2 shirts and a very warm sweatshirt, jeans, and 2 pairs of socks....I still froze. One of the guys gave me their coat and I wore that too. I hate winter coming!!!
Prayers for so many of you wonderful friends.
Love and Hugs to all.....connie d
Wow, Judy, that's the peppiest letter we've had from you in quite awhile. I'm glad you're feeling more like your old self today! Hope Rick starts to feel better soon.
I tried and tried to find a minute to post yesterday, but it just never happened. I'm sitting here this morning waiting for my weekly Sunday phone call from Butch. I sure do miss that man.
We got our promised cold front last night. I checked the thermometer on my back porch and it's 45 degrees this morning. (Yeah, yeah, I can hear all of you Northerner sistas right now! LOL!) But it's all relative. 45 degrees is cold here. Really. I might have to wear long pants today. :)
I'm glad that Eileen is going to have a friend come to help her for a few days. Sheesh, what a lousy explanation from her insurance company. We are all at their mercy these days.
And Tri****hought about your situation with your mother. All I can suggest is that the two of you stay in a hotel, so you can remove her from any potential conflict if you need to.
And Caroline, I am SO happy for your daughter! Not happy that she got taken to the cleaners, money-wise, but Thank GOD she is finally free from that man. Wowzers. What an ordeal that was. And I saw the pics of your GD in her new dresses. Beautiful!
Christie is off today and I finally have some free time to myself. Thank goodness. I need it.
Hope everyone has a blessed and peaceful Sunday. Love you all!
Ugh! 23 degrees is too cold for me. If it gets that cold here, we all go into hibernation mode! LOL!
I'm making chili in my new crockpot today, and it smells so good. Have you tried your new crockpot yet? I would love to have any good crockpot recipes you have.
Butch did call me this morning and we had only been talking a few minutes when the fire alarm went off. He said, "Gotta go!" and hung up. Darn it! I guess it wasn't a planned drill. I feel cheated out of my weekly talk with him.
Hope you are able to get warm today! Enjoy your football game!
Most of my recipes are from my mom and grandma. Lots of basics. If I run into something I think you would like I will certainly share it with you!!
Love and many hugs....connie d
Vickie - 45 degrees is cold to me!!
I've been reading most days but have little to say. I try to be positive and add something good.
My sister was in the hospital for a few weeks. She fell out of her wheelchair and got hung up on the brake for 12 hours. The leg got infected so she needed surgery. Now she is in a nursing home and not happy. She is 61 and has had MS since she was 18 years old.
My brother and I share duties of caring for her cats, getting her mail and running errands. Joey hates to visit and listen to her ***** so I go and listen.
She believes she will go home. Since she can't even sit up without help, that seems unlikely. What a sad mess.
A couple of weeks ago I went and saw the PA to look at an itchy/hurty spot on my back. She said it was a bug bite, gave me an RX and cream. The prescription killed my appetite. It began to ache, all the way around to my breast. Went back, saw a DOCTOR, he diagnosed Shingles. The med he gave me makes me sick to my stomach. Food, water or supplements have to be pushed to get them down.
Enough of my complaining. My little Jerry (puppy) is now more than twice the size of Baxter. Of course Baxter is only 10 lbs. They are good friends, romping and running together. Of the 6 cats, only Tony joins in the play. Our king size bed is very, very crowded at night.
Kisses
Annette
I had the Shingles in May, after I came home from visiting my grandchildren. It hurts, and the anti-virals did make me sick for a few days. I was just grateful I didn't get them while visiting my newborn grandson. He may not have been immune. Not sure how that works with the breastfed babies and all immunities that are passed through the milk. My daughter had the chicken pox in fourth grade. The older two grandchildren got the vaccine. I took Benadryl for the itchiness.
I hope you feel better soon.
Hugs,

I wouldn't go near a new born with anything. The doctor said to stay away from children who haven't had chicken po or they might get chicken pox from me.. I forgot to ask if the vacinations help them .
Nothing seems to help the pain except staying in the shower. With a well, that's hard.
