Saturday Happenings-What's Up?
Hi Trish and my OFF family:
I love this new format ... much more readable to me. I too would love to meet more of you ... I was reminiscing with my friend Mary Kay about the Dallas GTG and she thought it sounded like so much fun ... it was! How I miss those trips.
I am losing my mind ... first I lost my computer mouse, spent 20 minutes looking for it, then finally gave up, sat down and found it in the cushions of the recliner where I was sitting (which was the first place I looked). Later, I couldn't find the mailbox key ... looked for about five minutes, called the office, and the woman there said I'd have to wait until Monday because there would be no one in until then to do maintenance. She suggested I look in the pocket of my jacket. I said I've been housebound ... she said look in my jammies' pocket ... well, I said, I've done that, and I started to do it again ... took out my hankie and wouldn't you know it, there was the key.
Michelle from northern Indiana (she used to post her awhile back) is coming down for a couple of days. It will be nice to have company. Although I like my solitude, I get bored and lonely being alone too often.
Got to quote this to you from the Anthem response to my request for a rehab facility; it came in the mail today:
"Our physician consultant concluded the following: We cannot approve your request for coverage for Skilled Nursing level of care. We can tell that this request is due to surgery you recently had to replace your knee joint in a 57-year-old woman. Your stay is considered not medically necessary. Your records show that you are now able to walk, get out of bed, eat and perform daily activities (such as bathing and grooming). When the care you need can be safely done by an average person without medical training, the care is not considered a skilled service. ...
"This decision doesn't mean that you can't or shouldn't receive this service. Only you and your health care providers can decide whether you need it. But, this decision means that if you do receive the service, it won't be covered by your plan."
All of this is true ... other than I had not bathed myself, per se, just washed in the sink. But they don't take into account that I would be home alone.
My leg swelling has abated somewhat ... it's not as bad, but both are still swollen.
Well, time for baseball and a nap. My pain pill is kicking in. Have a good night.
