 Good Morning,
I'm at the Honda dealer getting the PA state inspection and oil change done on my Civic. It expired yesterday, but I was broke till today.

After I get my car back, I have to go to the lab, and then wait for the results across the hall at the hematologist's.

Was up late last nigh****ching my Eagles beat the Giants in a nail biter finish of a game. Of course, after it was over I was way too wound up to sleep.

Im thinking of Eileen, and Connie, as well as anyone else with health issues.

Hugs,
Trish

Hi Trish and OFFers to come:

I'm supposed to move on to the rehab facility today. They're working on my paperwork. I slept very well last night ... slept through the first half of the football game, for one, and then watched the second half. Then I thought I was tired and couldn't sleep. So I read for awhile until everything got foggy (on Percocet, it doesn't take long).

Won't be much happening to me other than getting settled into the rehab center. Oh, and the Bears play tonight ... now that baseball season is over for the White Sox I can concentrate on the Bears.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning Trish and everyone......

Trish....thank so much for keeping me in your thoughts. I appreciate that. You are so sweet!

Eileen....I am praying your transition to the rehab goes well. I am still keeping you in my prayers!!

I am back home that is for sure!! First thing this morning my sister started in on her damn Christmas Cards and how she wants them found. She just can't let up. What a grump!! She is just so damn negative and critical of others. She sure doesn't take after our mother or father thats for sure!!

I plan on TRYING to just rest and relax today. Everything has caught up with my body. I am in so much pain today.Tomorrow I need to start checking into some kind of housing. Someone asked me about Secftion 8 housing. I was on it and lost it when I moved to Iowa. Because I lived with my daughter it was taken away. There is NO getting it back. Once you give it up it is gone. That is why I can't find a place to live. I live on Disability and that isn't a lot. Paying rent will be an issue. I will keep trying....hopefully something will come along.

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!  Prayers for many in need.

Love  and Hugs  to all.....connie d

Good Morning Trish, Eileen, Connie and those that come,

I spent no time on the computer this weekend so I need to read to catch up on what is going on with you, Eileen and Connie. . .

I had a wonderful weekend, celebrated the youngest grandson's b-day on Friday, Saturday, took Roxie on an hour long walk around the neighborhood, ran errands, cooked a wonderful dinner for me and several friends, then yesterday morning got up, took Roxie for our walk, along with her friend and friend's doggy Mom, then cooked omelets for me and my roommate and visitor g/f, then took my visitor home to her halfway house in DE, from there drove to Strathmere (Jersey Shore) and hung out with my friend Owen and his wife, we had a nice afternoon sitting on the deck overlooking the beach, he made delicious steaks and roasted veggies, along with the corn I picked up at a farm stand.  Afterwards, we walked about 2.5 miles on the beach with their 2 poodles, then went back and had some melon, after which I said my goodbyes and drove home, totally exhausted from the busy ness of my weekend. . .  I was in bed by 8:45 and sound asleep in short order, I awoke at 2:24 a.m., went back to sleep and woke up at 6:34 (bad me). . .  I had to get out of the house in a hurry, but managed to get to work on time, where I have just spent the past several hours transcribing tapes. . . fun, fun, fun. . .  relatively speaking this will be a calm week, only have plans 2 nights this week.

Eileen hope you feel better each day!

Connie, in NJ they have low income housing for people with disability and/or older persons who have limited income, check it out and see if there is any of that where you're at!!!  Hugs

Anyway, hope everyone is well and for any facing serious life challenges, I wish you all that you need to get through!

Hugs, Laureen

Hello Laureen....yes, I am on diability. I had housing and lost it when I moved to Iowa. Once you lose the Section 8 voucher you can't get it back. I didn't think I would be coming back. I receive $16 a month in food support. My Social Security Disability isn't enough for me to pay rent and live on my own too. I am checking into new agencies all the time. So far nothing. I will keep trying!!

Thank you again for all your support. You are always so wonderful!!

Love to you and hugs too....connie d

Good mornin' ya'll.
Well, I guess our grandson's graduation from Naval Boot Camp was a great success. He only had about six hours with his wife and baby and parents before he had to report back to base. Of course our son was not impressed with the new recruits. He got snappy salutes from Navy folks that had been in awhile, but the only recruit that gave him a correct salute was his son. There was a VERY long line to be seated. Our son got the 'Sir, you and your party can come right up here and be seated now if you would like.' He gave his wife the, 'what do you think?' look. She looked at the long line, Cori holding the baby and gave him the 'you betcha' look! So they went in early. The Navy guys wore their covers (hats) inside. Marines don't do that, but as he said, he 'played their game'. Then after the ceremony was over and Liberty was called most of the new recruits hauled out their cell phones and started texting. When they found Donny in the crowd our son expressed his disbelief that phones were allowed. Donny said, oh they aren't. As a matter of fact they can't have them til they actually get to their school in FL. Cori had brought his with her but will be sending it to him. But apparently the rules don't apply to all the recruits.
That is the reason our son is getting out before his 30 years, and why my DH got out at 23 years. Most of the new kids 30 years ago, and the ones now have no respect, think the rules are for others, and don't wanna put in 8 hours during an 8 hour day. We instilled in our kids, who instilled in their kids that sometimes you put in 10 hours, even if you're only gettin' paid for 8. OK, I'm done.
I am praying for all of you who are struggling with health, money, personal problems, weight, emotions and just about everything else.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

Carolyn....things sure aren't like they used to be.

I, however, thought military would stay with the rules. That really surprised me. When will these kids learn if not in the military!! The lack of respect is so totally wrong!! Values and hard work have pretty much just flown out the window. That is so sad!! I fear for our future generations!

It is sad, Connie. And of all the companies that graduated, our grandson's did not win even ONE award. Why you might ask?
This was the final duty station for their drill instructor. He retired Oct1, 2012. He didn't care! That's why HIS recruits had cell phones and no one said anything. Some of those recruits are gonna be in for a rude awakening when they get a REAL authority figure they have to answer to. Luckily, our grandson is very familiar with the way the military works and what is expected of him.

Carolyn....that drill instructor should have left long ago.....he sure isn't acting military and certainly not a gentleman!!

You are right.....those recruits are in for a rude awakening!! I am glad your grandson has one up on them!!!  He sure sounds like a great kid with his act together!

Love and hugs.....connie d
