Good afternoon Karen and everyone.....

I am sad that so many of you are having such difficulties....me included!! Things have to get better soon!!! I keep praying for all you awesome friends!!!

Not planning much today. Going to make some lunch and then I need to clean the house. I already filled my sister's meds and called in for refills. I had a really awful nights sleep again last night. Just too much pain. I am so fatigued today. I know that is all attributed to my Fibromyalgia!

I hope to go tan at some point today. I love the feel of that heat. It makes my muscles feel so much better.

Wishing you all a great day!!  Prayers for many in need.

Love  and lots of hugs  to all...connie d

Aloha my sweet Connie...........It's now 9:30 a.m. on Maui and I just got my tanning done!! I usually sit out on the lanai from 8:30 to 9:30 or a little longer and manage to maintain a pretty good tan. I know the Vit. D is good for me, but not so sure about the sun's rays. I keep checking with my doc to make sure my skin is OK.

Connie...I so wish I had a magic wand to make your body feel good again, and to lift you from all that you are feeling. Sleep is so important!! Without it, our bodies don't have a chance to catch up with all the harm we do to it during the day. I try to take a nap each day, even if it's only a half hour...because I know that is when my body is recharging and hopefully "deleting" all the bad stuff I do to it....Ha!

Stay strong......you give so much love, it has to come back to you big time.!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Thank you Karen....you are always so sweet!!

I check with my doctor about my skin as well. So far all is good.
I so hate tanning outside as I have so many allergies and my asthma and COPD don't like it!!  I can tan for 12 minutes, three times a week at the tanning salon and it helps so much!!

Miss you and love you bunches my dear friend!! I always smile when I see that you have posted!!

Thoughts and prayers to all!

So sorry everyone is going thru so much pain and heartbreak!

Got Krissy a homecoming dress and shoes this weekend. Michael comes homes this weekend to work. He couldn't find a job in Sacramento so he will be coming home for weekends to work. It's an hour and half drive. So of course I'm happy to see my kid on the weekends. Not sure how long it's going to last though.

Not much else is going on. Losing a little every couple of days. Feeling pretty good. Don't know if I mentioned I made a Zucchini Lasagna the other night and boy is it good. In fact my mother-in-law  liked it so much she took half of it home. Found one of my favorite things is the recipe I found to make Wendy's Chili and I mix it with refried beans. YUMMY!!

Have a blessed day,

Debbie

Aloha Debbie....I am so happy that you have joined the OFF to share your incredible WLS journey. I cannot even begin to tell you how much it meant to me on my adventure. From being 325 lbs. to being 150 was awesome in itself, but the help and encouragement from the OFF family made all the "stalls" and "frustrations" along the way liveable.

I'm not sure when you had your surgery but wow...having lasagne if you are only a couple months out is amazing!! I didn't eat solid food for at least six weeks as I recall. I was so happy to find Campbells mushroom/cauliflower soup which kept me happy for several weeks until I ventured into firmer things. All our docs are different, and whatever works is great!!

I wish you nothing but success.....and this is the place to come for info, support and TLC no matter where you are in your process.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Thanks Karen!

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks out of surgery. I'm supposed to be on pureed foods. So on the lasagna I only used a small amount of ground beef crumbled very fine, zucchini sliced thin and a lot of ricotta in between with sauce and cheese. Tuna and fresh Salmon mushed up with lite mayo are really good too. I'm really lucky I feel so good this early on.  In fact I just got done vacuuming the downstairs, cleaning the kitchen and doing 2 loads of laundry. But I'm done for the day. Any way love all the support! Everyone is so thoughtful and kind. I love it here.

Big Hugs, Debbie

ALOHA Karen and my OFF family!!

Well today I went to the dr for my test. Dr put the vinegar solution on my cervix and said it looked good...oh-oh saw some color changes...took biopsy of them and said I would know in 2 weeks. So on the 21st I go back to see the dr for the results. IF they are bad then he will schedule surgery and I will be knocked out for this one. So PLEASE keep those prayers going for me!! THANKYOU ALL SO MUCH!!! Back to work the phone rang and it was my boss calling to see how I was doing. Nice of her to call me huh? It sure made me feel really good to know she cares!!!! Never had any other boss call me to see how I was before.

My sister had her kidney stents put in over the weekend and dr said if her potassium went down she could go home. Have not heard yet if she went home or not yet.

Well supper is ready so must eat now...day is all messed up on my eating...

Vic happy that your hubby is coming home tomorrow!!! Carla, hope there is nothing seriously wrong with you since your surgery! Hope that long drive that you did the other day didn't hurt you! Connie, you are something else!! So thoughtful and giving always!!! Love you!!!! Karen, I envy you seeing that beautiful ocean everyday!!!! Carolyn, I think if I were your daughter I would give up about now...I feel bad for you all!!! Trish, you keep on keeping on!!! I know I am forgetting someone and I am sorry...I am thinking of you ALL and you are ALL in my thoughts and prayers everyday!!!

HUGS

Aloha dear Judy......As always, it is a pleasure to see you post. You are one busy woman!! And, I can only hope that all the physical challenges you face will be resolved quickly and easily.

I really feel for you being the manager of a condo complex!! I have lived in this one for almost 11 years now and our manager is a wonderful man who has helped me so many times. BUT, he tells me tales of people who do nothing but complain, blame him for everything, and call him at all hours of the night!! Poor guy. Just now he was here with a pest guy because my neighbors had bedbugs.....yes, bedbugs!! Thankfully, they haven't migrated to the condos nextdoor, and hopefully treating my neighbor's pests will get rid of them for good. You must have those kinds of situations happen all the time. I feel for you. You are doing such a good job.

Sending up words of hope to the Big Kahuna for you......stay strong, and all will be OK.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Hi Karen and my OFF family:

Getting on here late today ... it's after 5 p.m. I am off today but spent most of the day at a pre-procedure clinic and class for my knee replacement surgery. It started at 11 a.m. and I got done at 3 p.m. Then I went to pick up some food. I was really hungry. I did check out one apartment complex in between ... nice but pricey. The 2-bedroom looked like my condo in Michigan but it was $895 a month.

The clinic was interesting at least the way they did it here. They drew all your labs, did the EKG, etc. (in Michigan, you went to your PCP for that); you saw a nurse first, then a social worker, who helped you get equipment like walkers, etc., determined if you needed a rehab facility postop; then it was class, then a doctor's appointment (he went over my medical history, drugs, etc., listened to heart, lungs, looked in eyes, ears, etc.) I heard some people needed a stress test; I didn't. Others needed procrit to build up their iron count ... mine iron count was good (I guess taking the iron has helped). The only thing low, as usual, was potassium, and just slightly. So I'll take an extra potassium a day. Even though I've gained weight, one thing I've always done is take all my vitamins every day.

So I got a new walker with wheels. That's what they wanted me to have. I may end up staying for a week in a rehab facility because I don't have anyone at home with me. Probably for the best, because my right knee isn't so strong, either. However, I'll miss my kitty purring next to me.

Anyway, I'm pooped ... I don't have any plans for tonight, but tomorrow I have another doctor's appt. ... yearly pap smear (oh joy). I have to do laundry tomorrow after that ... running out of panties and socks and jeans and bras and everything.

Good to see you Karen ... stop by more often. We miss you.
