Good Morning Jo and OFF Family,
I had a good day yesterday. Did the most important thing: Mailed the baby blanket for my grandson to my daughter. I also mailed some little things for the older Munchkins as well.
Well, today, I'm not sure about driving to church. I probably should rest and take it easy with my back. It's still tender.
Today, I'll watch my Phillies, and try to work on a different baby blanket for my daughter's niece. I stayed with the family when Franklin was born. Their generosity in opening their home has prompted me to make a special blanket for this little one.
Have a blessed day. Hugs and prayers to all.

Good morning Jo and Trish and my OFF sistas!
Oy vey! All these dogs! They are driving me bats, but in a good way. When one starts to bark, they all start. When one runs to the door, they all run. You talk about your "pack mentality". Boy, we've got it in spades this weekend.
The only way to manage potty breaks is one at a time. It's quite a ballet. Isolate one dog, manuever it into the utility room, close the door so the other dogs can't follow, then on a leash and out for a walk. I guess it's good for me. I'm getting my exercise, huh?
I spent most of yesterday in my pjs. I tried to take a nap, but please reference the above paragraphs as to why that did not work out! LOL!
So today my oldest daughter and her friend (and 3 of the dogs) will be going back to Waco. That will leave just me and Chris and Benny again. I have to spend some more time dealing with our finances today. I tried to finish everything yesterday, but I was too muddle-headed from lack of sleep to do a good job. It's very complicated switching to another bank. I had so many things set up to run automatically through our original bank. I'm slowly managing to change things over, but in the meantime, I have 2 bank accounts to deal with. I have to be really careful thinking about what bill to pay from what account.
So looking forward to my sweet husband coming home on Wednesday! That's also Benny's first day of preschool. It will be a big eventful day for all of us.
Need to get in there and see about cooking some breakfast for all my kiddos. I'm enjoying a few minutes of peace out on the front deck, looking out at the lake. It's my favorite time of day here. There's almost always a cool breeze up here on the hill top in the mornings. And the lake just looks like glass today. Wish I was out in the boat enjoying it!
Love you all!

Good mornin' ya'll.
Friday my DH and I took our DIL to UNCPembroke to pick up our grandson then took them to Fayettville to get a flight to Indianapolis. She says it's to bring her older son's truck home so they can get it repaired before he gets out of boot camp and his 'A' school and needs it. She can't fool me!! She wants baby snuggles and kisses!! DH and I headed home. It would have been dark by the time we got here but with someone else in the car and in familiar territory I almost always stay awake! But a migraine started creeping up. My emergency meds were in the trunk and I didn't know if they would make me drowsy. By the time we found a hotel, got checked in and took my meds the migraine was full blown. I would not have been able to drive. And once the meds kicked in I was sound asleep! Now we are home babysitting one of the dogs. The other 2 are home. This is an experiment to see how they do for 3 days alone. They have big water and food thingys and a doggy door. The only reason I have the other one is because she has pink eye and needs meds every 8 hours. She lays down like a sweetie for the eye drops, but it's a struggle to get the pill down her. I know about all the little gadgets, my DIL has all those. Nope! So, I wet the pill, stick it to my thumb, pry her mouth open and stick it so far in the back of her throat she can't bring it back up with her tomgue. Works like a charm! And she's still talking to me!
Vickie, if we didn't have a fenced in yard I'd go crazy babysitting the dogs!
I better go. That stinker just let herself in the back door!! The door handle is shaped like a lever and she can jump up and pull it down. If she would whine I'd go let her in. But miss indepedant doesn't wanna wait! It is 100 degrees out there, but I go immediately when she lets me know she wants in.
Everyone have a fantabulous day!

So nice to stop in and see who is posting this morning. It's 10:30 a.m. in Hawaii, and I just got home from my job at the hospital screening newborn babies' hearing. Today only had four to screen, but yesterday I had 11!! A set of twins and 9 others born the day before. Mostly it is a life-affirming job and I love it. Other times it's just plain sad especially when a teenager is the mother and doesn't even want to hold baby. This morning when I arrived about 5:30 a.m. there was a code blue, and a mother was rushed to surgery because she wasn't breathing. Baby had already been transferred to Honolulu because of complications. Sure hope mama and baby make it.
I am working all weekend, but that's fine with me. I can come home and vegge while the roads are full of partiers and sometimes drunks. Can be scary. This is the end of summer here on Maui....with lots of visitors leaving to get kids back in school. We LOVE this time of year....it gets quieter and we go back to the usual slow pace that is typical here.
Someone at the hospital this morning told me that I am too skinny! I never quite know what to make of that, but do know that for almost 5'11" I am on the low end. Not sure why because I eat pretty good, but the food seems to go right through (if you know what I mean..Ha. ) I'm not complaining because at one time I regained 30 lbs. and those have fallen away thankfully. Sometimes I think nervous energy just burns off the calories.
Hope you are all having a good holiday weekend. Vickie I can't even imagine what you are living right now. My little grands are so active that I can only handle about two weeks with them before I am a basket case...LOL. Know I couldn't take them on all by myself at this age. You are a saint!!
Sending hugs and prayers to all of you struggling with issues.....big and small. You are all amazing.

Good evening Jo and OFF family, and indeed what a beautiful day in Michigan it is....except now it's muggy and hot, in the AM it was perfect! Where is our rain?????
Tomorrow morning leaving on vacation, will be off work for 11 days and I'm so excited to say the least. Camping at Ludington State Park, plan on biking, walking and kayaking for the first time. Now I hope I don't tip! I love the water so if I do tip I'm sure I can get back in I hope! LOL
We will be back on Friday cuz we have a party to go to on Saturday for our niece's wedding celebration. They got married last Spring and hubby is on leave from the service.
Amanda my eldest SD will come and take care of the dogs and outside cats. I wanted to take the dogs camping but we didn't want to leave them in the trailer while we were off kayaking and riding our bikes. Anyway they are happy at home in the huge kennel we have for them.
OH Jo...a hamburger and strawberry shortcake sounds yummy!
Hugs and prayers for all in need. Debbie

I spent Friday thru Sunday in Indianapolis! We sure got the rain there. They said 4 to 6 inches and I'm pretty sure they got at least the 4 in less than and hour. It was so hot and so muggy all weedend. I was sweating like crazy trying to show our pygmy goats.
Drove back to Michigan this afternoon and we could watch the front just south of I-69 as it turned and headed east.
It was so much nicer here at home. I hope to be able to get a swim in tomorrow!
